✨ Wishing you all a very HAPPY NEW YEAR and all the best in 2024! 🥳🎉 Thank you for being a part of our community here on TH-cam - it wouldn't be the same without you all!!! 💛
I am a Japanese citizen living in Niigata Prefecture, Japan. Mt. Yahiko has the best view and there is a place where you can see the Sea of Japan. There is a hot spring town nearby.
thank you for another great video!! I have been a subscriber for many years and love your content...always informative, fun and visually stimulating! Thanks again and Happy New Year!!
To eat dipping soba need to gently press the noodle with your lips and give it a good strong slurp to aerate it … like how some wine enthusiasts do when tasting wine.. really brings out the flavour Happy new year guys !
I’m glad you went off beaten track it’s really interesting! Those deserts ❤❤❤❤❤and sake vending machines 😅 you can get nicely chilled at the stations and miss your train if you were killing sometime! They should do this at Bordeaux train station 😊 people would stay put around there! Have a lovely festive season and look forward to see more from you in the new year! Thank you for everything Sabrina 🇫🇷🇬🇧
Ooooh, vending machines serving red wine - that would be a hit!! 🍷😊 And maybe a little platter of cheese while we're at it. I think people would be missing their trains for sure! 😅 Wishing you a happy new year, Sabrina!
@@samuelandaudrey lol actually you could do this outside your hotel with Argentine wine 😜👌🏼 Great idea 💡 with cheese plater lol 😂 Don’t get me started with the cheese 🙈🫶🏼I had French 🇫🇷 cheese diner last night and French cake … lots more were that came from … I’m going to have that again for diner! It’s a 🥇 winner no doubt
WIshing you both a very happy new year! Saw the storms hitting Argentina over the last few weeks and thought of you. Hoping all is well with the house and in your lives. Cheers!
Sake made in Niigata often has a different taste from sake made in other regions. It is called 淡麗辛口"Tanrei Karakuchi,'' and although it is sometimes said to have a bland taste, the people of Niigata love it.
I just got back from our 1st Japan trip with my family. Already miss it. Your new series on Japan is tempting me for our next visit. I would love to visit other areas Japan has to offer. We hit Tokyo, Kyoto, Osaka and Hakone. We barely scratched the surface. Thanks for your Peru vids as well, haven't been back to my birth country in over 20 years. I definitely need to go back. Have a happy and adventurous New Year!
I'm glad to hear you had a nice time in Japan. Who knows, maybe Peru will be your next trip?! We were just talking last night about how we miss going to Peru, it's been a couple of years since our last visit.
Great show! Really like your mentioning of the price after your soba meal. Other people seldom do that. glad you did not waste your venting sushi. 😱Eating from venting machine in Japan 😶🌫. You guys did something special!!!
Hey guys, Hope this message finds you well. Harriet and I visited Niigata about 8 years ago. Love it for its climate and temperature. And certainly, it's fresh sashimi . We were warned by our tour guide at the time to stay away from sashimi in vending machines. The best was in the fish markets. Always, fresh. Your tour of Niigata hit all the right notes. Thank you for sharing. We want to wish you guys and your family a Happy, Healthy and Safe New Year 2024. We are along for this wonderful ride. Hugs🫂 and Kisses💋 from Harriet, Jim and Yuki
Happy New Year! You and Harriet have really been all over the globe. Week after week I'm surprised by how many of the same destinations we have visited - and some are on the lesser-known side. I hope you two had a Merry Christmas and wishing you only the best in 2024. 😊🎉🥂
Well come to Niigata ❤so happy to see your new video about Niigata 😊 I have been expecting to see how Niigata is like in your videos 😊by the way I was living in Nagaoka city , a second lager city in Niigata , a place you might not know .
I am learning English, so I will comment using a translation app. Thank you for coming to Niigata. Please come back again as there are still many places to visit.
Totally starstruck that you replied!! One day I hope to see frozen sushi on a "worst things we've ever eaten" compilation 🤢🤠 Safe and tasty travels guys 💼⭐👍
Next time, please visit the Bus Station curry. Its one of the best in whole japan, and the best part is the price, just ¥390 when we visited 5/2023. Thank you for sharing your experience in the land of rice and sake.
So you were going to the Japanese Alps after? "Fun fact" if famous Kamikochi was part of the plan : the Azusa river from there ends up joining with a bunch of other rivers to make up the Shinano river, Japan's longest, the river whose mouth you were looking at from the Befco Bakauke Observation Deck in Niigata (🙄...) That sushi looked absolutely epic. Thanks guys, and have a brilliant 2024
Happy new year , love the latest video, Really nice sandal tan Audrey🤣. this is really great timing as we are thinking of a japan trip this year. PS can Sam try and finish whats in his mouth before he talks? one part cant even understand him, please take this as positive critiscm as I love all your travel videos and have used your ideas many times on our Past travels. Cheers and good luck and travels for 2024
So it turns out maybe I don't like sake, I'm just into the plum wine! 😅 The stuff we tried in Otaru and one of the drinks from the vending machines was so smooth and sweet like a honey syrup.
Fun fact, all fish for sushi needs to be frozen prior to eating to kill any possible parasites. You would never want to eat raw fresh caught fish. At least -4°F for 7 days, or -31°F for 24hrs.
Greetings from Japan🇯🇵. Frozen sushi is usually unfrozen in refrigerator. Put frozen sushi into fridge for a day or half day. Then you are able to eat. The point is to take pretty long time to unfreeze.
✨ Wishing you all a very HAPPY NEW YEAR and all the best in 2024! 🥳🎉 Thank you for being a part of our community here on TH-cam - it wouldn't be the same without you all!!! 💛
Happy New Year to You!!🎈🎈🎄✨

Thanks for trying that vending machine sushi. Love the adventure!
Haha, that was an adventure! We thought the sushi would be refrigerated, not frozen solid. 🍣 We're still confused about that! 😅
Fantastic video about Niigata 😋😍
Thank you, we're glad you enjoyed it! Wishing you a Happy New Year!! 🎉
Happy New Year !!@@samuelandaudrey

Oh, very cool! We would have liked to explore more of the countryside in Niigata. But the city was a fun introduction to this prefecture! 🌾🌿😊
I am learning English, so I will comment using a translation app.
Thank you for coming to Niigata. Please come back again as there are still many places to visit.
Happy New Year Sam & Audrey, may it be your best ever 🙂
First time, I noticed my handle was used
Thank you, George! A very Happy New Year to you, Debbie and Hobie!! 🎉😊
You guys just gave me the biggest laugh with the frozen vending sushi 😂 Happy New year. Looking forward to following you through 2024 🌍👣
We really thought it would be edible! As in chilled, not frozen solid. 😅
Totally starstruck that you replied!! One day I hope to see frozen sushi on a "worst things we've ever eaten" compilation 🤢🤠

Thank you for visiting our city.I appreciate it.
Thank you for visiting Niigata!!!😆😆😆
Happy new year ❤

Thanks for the tip! We ate at a lot of different train stations later on in the trip - who knew some of the best restaurants are in there?!
Love when people travel to/show other parts of Japan that are not Tokyo/Kyoto/Osaka.
My best friend lives in Japan, my dream is go there and visit every city with her. But for now I can travel with you...
I hope you get to visit Japan. It's always extra special when you get to explore a place with a local friend. Wishing you all the best in 2024! 🎉

Perhaps I would have already seen it if I scrolled down farther but #111 is Umeshu (梅酒) plum wine which tends to be sweet.
So it turns out maybe I don't like sake, I'm just into the plum wine! 😅 The stuff we tried in Otaru and one of the drinks from the vending machines was so smooth and sweet like a honey syrup.
Hope you guys are safe!
We're safe - we're back in Canada for the holidays. It's been a rough start to the year for Japan. 🤍
Sake means alcohol, any in general. Nihonshu is what you were drinking, japanese rice wine. Except the very sweet 111 is umeshu which is plum wine :)
traditional new year's eve midnight snack … soba.
how you usually cook buckwheat?
crêpe sarrasin 🥞 or porridge like kаши 🥣
Oh, very cool! I didn't know soba was traditionally eaten on New Year's Eve. We'll be toasting with some bubbly.🥂 Wishing you a happy 2024!🎉
Welcome, please come to N😊iigata again.

Nice report~😻
Did you guys get effected by the earthquake? I see this location was just up the coast to the north
We're back in Canada for the holidays. Thank you for checking in - thinking of everyone in Japan who was affected. 🤍
Thank you for coming to Niigata🙇♀️
It's not recommended for sightseeing, but I think the food is delicious✨
Please come again if you have a chance♡
Fun fact, all fish for sushi needs to be frozen prior to eating to kill any possible parasites. You would never want to eat raw fresh caught fish. At least -4°F for 7 days, or -31°F for 24hrs.
Are you in Japan right now?! Hope you’re safe from the earthquake/ tsunami! 🙏❤️
Thank you for checking in. We're back home in Canada for the holidays and just woke up to the news from Japan. 💛

Audrey what is your height
Japan would be so wasted on me, I just don't enjoy raw meat at all 😂
Frozen Sushi😂
Sorry
We thought it would be chilled not FROZEN! 😂
Greetings from Japan🇯🇵. Frozen sushi is usually unfrozen in refrigerator. Put frozen sushi into fridge for a day or half day. Then you are able to eat. The point is to take pretty long time to unfreeze.
I like your videos . But please don’t soak soba into soup so deeply .it’s a sense of Edo.
