Every time I look at you when you talk about the van or this lifestyle, your eyes light up and I can see that you absolutely enjoy the freedom it gives you and all of the adventures and memories encountered along the way. There are definitely improvements that came with the rebuild, so you managed to transform a bad thing that happened to you into a great one. I'm happy for you! Take care, be safe and always have fun. As someone that traveled the world for six years with a backpack full of rock climbing and camping gear I can completely appreciate this. Currently about to start a Land Rover discovery camper build and very inspiring to watch your van rebuild tour as someone that follows your awesome channel.
Stay away from the LR Discovery - they look nice and have some nice features, but they have far too many electronics in them to be reliable for the long term. If you plan on going into remote isolated areas - i strongly recommend a Toyota Landcruiser/Prado. Reliability is the only thing that matters when going remote or rough.
@@Gindolfin-7 ah, but life is about way more than just reliability and I've grown rather fond of this Discovery, despite it's leaky sunroof and a few other minor things. If I was going to do another round the world trip I would look at a Defender at very least, but in this case the Discovery makes for a nice daily driver and travel van.

I thank the TH-cam algorithms for sending me this video. I recently retired and am getting restless and want to hit the road. Your rebuild video has kicked the wanderlust into high gear. Thank you for your great videos and the explanations on why you made your choices in the rebuild. Keep on keeping on.
I loved how much in detail you described how lowering cabinets created extra space (even extra drawer). Love it. Most of us live in a house and half of the stuff inside cabinets is old stuff we never use. Great videos, let's us imagine for a second that we can leave everything like that and live on a road like you and see all that beauty.
Brilliant! Just brilliant! If I were to build a van in the future, I would ask my builder to watch this video. The thoughtfulness and attention to detail is amazing. I previously was having trouble getting my head around a build, but no more. Thank you for sharing. Safe travels. 😊
You're right, Christian. It didn't appear all that different from your original build, until you shared all the changes. It's really quite stunning and ultra functional. Love it! The tour of the rebuild satisfies the inner gadget and design geek in me. Plus the video is beautifully shot and edited. Your sense of humor also shines through. Great start to 2024 for you!
I'm just really amazed at your skills and talent. I was ready for another one of your videos, and this one MAXIMIZED my enjoyment! Stay safe and pleasant travels.
Nice!! 🎉 He did a great job! You made so many useful changes. I think it couldn’t be more perfect. One thing I’ve always loved about your build is how serene it is in terms of color and textures. It lets your environment steal the show in every image from inside your van. You seem very content with your van, which is so nice to see. Happy travels!
I made my toe kicks 4.5 inches and put kick drawers under there - a push with my foot and out pop drawers that are perfect for my large frying pan and my induction hob. A simple push with my foot back under and they are latched shut - and no they don’t spring open in transit. It gives toe space to get nearer the sink but doesn’t waste the space.
The fact that you put this professional quality content out for free makes me feel so blessed. Absolutely love seeing your personality shine here, despite what brought on the rebuild. I think this might be one of my favs so far 😍 The consistent high level, ego-less vibe that you put out into the world is very much needed. Thank you ❤

I really like your rebuild Christian. I can't believe how much storage you have! The light colors are great for creating a roomier look also. I'm surprised at how many van lifers spend sooo much time driving. I think even though I enjoy driving, I wouldn't want to be pushing forward all the time. Seems stressful to me. Expensive too. I hope you are happy in your new build.❤
When I get my van ready to travel this is the daily limit I'm thinking. Even if going a long distance, find somewhere to stop for the day after 4 hours or so driving. Sure, I can drive 12+ hours at a stretch, but I can also move slower and experience more, and take time to enjoy it.
You both did amazing job and love the subtle changes to MAXIMISE space and storage. A great tour episode and wonderful how you have made it into a beautiful home ❤

Christian you may have thought of this but you can get really inexpensive water sensors that you could place in multiple locations in the van around your plumbing to maker sure that if another leak occurs you will find out really quick.
The van build this time is amazing and so many great improvements. Truly incredible all of the storage you have. Thanks for letting us live vicariously through your many adventures!
This has to be one of the best conversations I’ve seen, clean but cozy and really well put together, and EVEN a collapsible kettle! Gal you’re living the dream! 👍👍👍
Your van is looking great. It seems like you have really dialed it in to meet your needs. You also seemed more happy and ready to take on the world than in some of your recent videos. Happy travels.
Lots of upgrades! One looked into a momad’s van and my comment was, “You have a lot of stuff.” Well, that came back to me when we moved and a professional mover to me the same thing after it took four guys all day to empty that load. I didn’t tell him we had more! Be safe out there and have fun. 🤩
I haven’t watched one of your videos in a while. I am always amazed at the quality of your videos. Also, It always strikes me as unreal that you live in such an organized clean world. It’s like a JCrew catalog come to life. Congrats on year number 5 ! Happy New Year!

So happy to see this video. I was thinking about you yesterday and today I see this new video. Your van is beautiful and I love the white / light look. It's very clean and fresh looking to me. Happy New Year! I hope your new year is filled with happiness, health and a dusting of wealth. ♥
Your van has everything anyone could hope for, very well organized and efficient. Your video skills are the best of any channel I watch. Keep showing us your travels and the natural beauty you seem to always find!
Your van build is very well thought out, my top 10 builds for me. I am trying to design one, I think your build is very smart and will use some of the design from yours. Van looks oh so cozy too!!
After seeing how much stuff you have before the rebuild started it's very impressive how you fit so much in there, yet it stays so sleek and organized. Your middle names must be Marie Kondo 🤣
I love the layout - especially the back bench / day bed / half of the full bed - and table combo. Genius. I would absolutely would have the back doors open as much as I could and hang out with a book, movie, or whatever. You are so organized and I love your approach to maximize space, like rolling clothes. The color scheme and materials are lovely. Great job!
@5:30 Pro tip: the 1lb propane canisters can be easily refilled from your larger tank! It's really easy and a game changer. One $10 part and a simple technique.
what is the technique? Im really keen to try this, I use the small canisters as their flame is way better than a cheap camping stove plugged into the larger canister. Thanks!
@@LaoiseAnne It's called a Mac-Coupler. Take the 1lb green tank and put it in the freezer for 15-30 min. Connect Mac-Coupler to big tank (with valve OFF). Connect 1lb green tank. Turn it over so big tank is upside down and 1lb green tank is on the bottom. You are filling the small tank with liquid that's on the bottom of the large tank. Open the big tank valve and listen to it filling. When the sound stops, turn off the valve. Quickly remove the 1lb green tank. Some people do before and after weights--I've never done it.
Traveling with intention is exactly what I want to do. I want a van that is still a little bit comfortable to lazy around in, to just live for a bit. I once drove across Canada, east to west, in nearly 3 days. It wasn't really fun. It's not just the road life, but you're entire life that you seem to be living with intention. When you stop and take the time, you find beauty. And in your videos, there's nothing but beauty. Even in harder times, we see the beauty in it. I love your videos.
Happy new year Christian! this was great, thank you! Your Van is still the best build i've seen. The only thing i thought could be improved would be more (flexible) solar-panels on the roof.
There's a sense of calmness to your videos. Watching you inspires me to keep on doing more of what I love. I can see and sense the genuine love you have for filming and van life..keep doing what you love. Stay safe. ❤
I really enjoy your videos. Your videography is always stunning, your narrative calm, informative, interesting and you always have a thoughtful story/theme behind your video. I love how clean and simple your van design is and how well you've designed it to your needs and not just to show off on TH-cam, and in doing so you have a beautiful van. You present yourself as a beautiful, hardworking, non pretentious young lady. You are a great inspiration for other young ladies and girls of how to just be you and how hard work, planning and being intentional works to your advantage. Thanks for sharing such worthwhile content. Continued Safe travels to you!
I've recently found your channel with it's a wealth of information. I don't know if you started out presenting on your videos the way you do now, but you narrate very well and have an excellent presentation; as good as a professional or better.
Thanks for the tour of the updated van, lots of good info. It's nice to see you so relaxed and cheerful, even a bit playful/silly. Looks like you're in love, be it with someone, the new build being healthier, or the realization that for now this is the life you want to be living. I hope things continue to go well for you.
Christian, I'm going to echo the gang: you looked so much happier in this video, than many of the previous. I luv the rebuild, and I can't wait to "ride along" on your many adventures. It's nice to see you so happy!!! We'll be watching over your shoulder from Port Angeles, WA.! Hope we cross paths, lunch on me! Drive safe, take care.
Ive spent years living in vehicles and now a shed. Im amazed at how clean and organized you manage to keep things. I don't even have to be in my truck or shed for both to become unmanageable messes. You've got your ducks in a row. I never got the knack. Stay Safe, Thank You for taking me along on your journey to nowhere and everywhere. You keep posting and I'll keep watching 🙏👍😎🐕🦺
Congratulations Christian! You're such a genuine goofball which is probably why we all love you. All the best to you out on the road. Always glad you take us along. Stay safe.
It was great to see how you chose to change things after having been on the road for years. I feel like you have a pretty firm grasp on what van living is and what's really important. Thanks for sharing!
What a beautiful and thoughtful upgrade! Well done and cheers to slow travel. I’d give anything to do this type of life for a while, but missed my chance, as so many of us do while grinding the corporate gig. After 45 years, finally retired last year. Have young grandchildren so enjoying the heck out of them. We are all blessed in different ways and then we come together on these sites and get to enjoy life through your eyes, so thankful for that.
Great to see that smile again. Missed that... Your home is functional, stylish and above all, beautiful. It's a credit to your dedication and resilience. Safe safe lovely lady. See you in the next one.
The re-build is well thought out and executed. Maybe it was a blessing in disguise that you had to do this update because you were able to put in a lot of improvements. Thanks for sharing those great lessons learned.
Wow so much information very useful. Thank you Christian. I will look at everything again tomorrow, because there are some golden tips that I really want to remember. I love that you live so organized and tidy. Traveling slowly and enjoying a location for longer will probably also give you much more inner peace. Way to go ❤!
That's an incredible rebuild! I honestly think that if I had to choose any van to live in myself, of all the vanlifers whose rigs I've seen here on TH-cam, I'd choose yours. So comfy, pretty, and completely practical. Lots of storage too! You are also the most skilled photographer and storyteller out there. It's such a pleasure to watch whatever you do. Your videos always leave me happier and calmer than I was before I watched them. Thank you, Christian! Happy trails!
Goodness, such an enjoyable and endearing video. Your soul just beams, Christian. It is so adorably palpable, and I am so happy for your happiness. You bring so much joy, inspiration, encouragement, and bliss to countless of us, your adoring fans. Thank you for all that you have done and are doing for us. Thank you for taking us along on your amazing life adventures and experiences. Thank you for your grace, your humility, your vulnerabilities. To be so breathtakingly beautiful, while also so warm, genuine, and gracious; goodness, how you take our collective breaths away. Always wishing you well, amazing one. ❤️
Christian, so great to see you back with a revamped van emerging. The improvements and ideas of how / where to store stuff are just mind-boggling🤯Looking forward to new adventures in a great 2024! Love your channel!
I remember you being at a crossroads about the prospect of the van rebuild. To see how thrilled and passionate about this tour shows you followed your heart to continue the van life journey. And I’m happy and inspired by you Christian. Hope to see you venture up to Alberta someday 🙂
Love your videos, love when people make common sense comments or knowledgeble info so we all get to feel in one nice supportive community, lerning from each other, of travellers as we all are in this time-space reality ❤
Wow. That is a lot of useful stuff. I love how neat and tidy and organized everything is. You made some major improvements. I love the thoughtful psychology of what you have done.
Killer build, love all the light coloring. Also the floor water gap for drainage was brilliant in the event water collects. The pillow idea storage in plain sight also brilliant. Many more brilliants in there I haven’t mentioned.
Cheers to you in 2024 & beyond. Here's to a great year traveling, exploring and capturing so many Pastels-Of-Life. Always enjoy your sharing out here. So many of us "Travel" through your lens. Thank you for sharing so much Christian. God Bless, keep safe.
I am at that moment assimilating part of those magnificent modifications of the VAN and the perfect order of things,... Then I looked at the photographs and I am still surprised by the photographs. Wonderful photography. My most sincere congratulations for your work.😊
Love this!! 😍 My husband and I just tried vanlife for a week (Nevada, Arizona, and Utah) in a Ram Pro Master City, but not the tall version. I'm 5' 10" so I appreciate the comments about bed size. 😅 Such a nice build. I love watching your content with all the beautiful views! 🌄
I really enjoyed it! I would have had a different layout if I lived in it and we cheated on the van for a shower/laundry at a hotel. Haha. If it had been warm I'd have been down for the hanging shower bag situation like you mentioned or if we were actually full time I would look into a gym membership. Overall it was a fun experience to be able to see lots of places in a small amount of time! We stayed at National Park campgrounds, so the bathroom situation was great! 😁💖
This is beautiful to see. You are such a light in this world. I wish for you good health & lots of love & happiness in your life because at the end of the day……that’s what it is all about.
Christian, I follow quite a few van life folks. But when I see that you posted a video I have to watch it immediately. Bravo... Bravo to the van rebuild. What a great job you and your friend did , it is so well thought out. And your presentation of it as absolutely fantastic, you maximized my enjoyment...lol. I am already researching the composting toilet. I did my first van build in the early 70s, it was a 1964 Chevy van....I wish I still had it... Thank you for the great video and I hope you have a Happy New Year,...Gaetano
I've managed to binge watch your channel in the last 2 weeks. I love the videography, editing and the narrating. I hear you questioning wether or not you want to keep going. I certainly hope you do keep going because you are very good at what you do.
light and airy with a minimalist vibe. Nice job on the rebuild. Learned the take it slow style in the U.P. of Michigan, otherwise I would have missed all those little two tracks to nowhere that ended up in some beautiful places.
That was very nice of you to show us your home, very nicely built and well done with storage. As always, nice to see that beautiful smile on your face and love the humor. Looking forward to your next adventure. Thanks.
I love it Christian! This is definitely the van of my dreams. Thank you for being such an inspiration to many of us, to shine freedom and possibility where they are most needed. Can't wait to meet you on the road one day and say one of the happiest hi's of my life!
This was GREAT, Christian! It was nice to relive your van redo and to see all of the wonderful changes that have been made. I found myself saying, "Good!" A LOT when you mentioned the upgrades-- especially the safety features that were incorporated in the rebuild. Brett did a fantastic job for you (thank you, Brett)! What a great soul he is! I enjoyed seeing how many creature comforts you have and how they increase the Light of your Spirit! And speaking of which, thank you for increasing OUR Light as well! 😊 You absolutely cracked me up with both of your "Quacks" in post production, and when you modeled your gear at the back of your van. Your goofiness is so endearing! Thank you for giving me some good ideas for tweaking MY packing ideas. After all these years of my road/camping trips, I pretty much have it down, but I am still finding new things and new ways to make the road a much more pleasant place to live. Thanks again for all you do to bring Joy and Wonder and Whimsy to our lives, Christian! Thanks for making me sigh (good sighs)! Thank you for the last few scenes in this episode which gave me goosebumps, yet again! It was a prime example of, "the icing on the cake!" May God continue to watch over you, to bless and keep you, and may you continue to find joy and peace! ❤, Russ
I am just stunned that anyone living on the road can keep a van looking in good condition when it is all white inside. I am always walking mud in, getting dirty myself and not always great access to quality showering. Looks amazing. Wish I could manage the white myself
Like the changes. Very efficient. And like your diet. Clean living. My fav was the avocado. Can’t live without them. Stay safe. God bless you. Sending this to one of my sons. Around your age.
@@frankb6333 oh wow! Thanks heaps for the info. Appreciate your time and effort. Happy camping!
Thank you so much 🥹🙏🏻
Happy new year Christian! this was great, thank you!
Stay safe. ❤
please please do a collaboration with Trent The Traveler .. go on an trip across Canada or across USA make a small series it will be lit
I don't know if you started out presenting on your videos the way you do now, but you narrate very well and have an excellent presentation; as good as a professional or better.
just a good ole country girl from Arkansas living the new American dream. My days are filled with so much joy with a new video drops.
😊🚐
Beautiful way to start my Sunday. Happy new year and I wish you many more safe and adventurous miles ahead.
Thank you! ☺️✨
Wow, you are an incredibly gifted photographer/videographer, story teller, etc. And you love what you live, and it shows! Hurray, keep doing it!!!
Your art inspires others to be better. Thank you for doing what you do, and for how you thoughtfully do it.
So beautiful, organized, and functional. If I lived in a van, I'd hope to have one as nice as yours. Really, really nice.
Thank you Lisa! Congrats on retiring, so many beautiful days ahead ☺️
I am very impressed with your build and the level of detail. The way you have everything laid out to meet your needs shows just how talented you are.😃
Very thoughtful redesign. It's hard to believe it's been 5+ years.
Everything you post is beautiful and joyful. Thank you
So nice of you 🙏🏻
That's an incredible rebuild!
You are so Lucky to have such a nice van build. Cudos to the construction team !
Out of something difficult and disappointing, blooms beauty! Perfect build!😍
😊🚐✨
Christian, so great to see you back with a revamped van emerging. The improvements and ideas of how / where to store stuff are just mind-boggling🤯Looking forward to new adventures in a great 2024! Love your channel!
Thank you! 😊🙏🏻
Every time I watch your video I fall in love. I love your style, your lifestyle and your freedom. May you have a beautiful 2024.
Slow travel is also kinder to the environment. A beautiful life. Take care.
You look so much happier I pray you truly are. I love sharing your amazing adventures with you 💖
I remember you being at a crossroads about the prospect of the van rebuild. To see how thrilled and passionate about this tour shows you followed your heart to continue the van life journey. And I’m happy and inspired by you Christian. Hope to see you venture up to Alberta someday 🙂
😊🙌🏻🚐
I love this. Love your sense of humor showing us "everything" your had squirreled away. Enjoy your work and videos.
Thanks so much 😊
You are so talented. Your videos are so beautiful & soothing. It’s like taking a mini vacation.
Thank you 🥲 so glad you like them
Love your videos, love when people make common sense comments or knowledgeble info so we all get to feel in one nice supportive community, lerning from each other, of travellers as we all are in this time-space reality ❤
Wow. That is a lot of useful stuff. I love how neat and tidy and organized everything is. You made some major improvements. I love the thoughtful psychology of what you have done.
Glad it was helpful! 😊🚐
Beautiful van and upgrades. I travel vicariously thru your travels!
Thank you! Cheers to you as well 🥂✨ Something tells me 2024 will be a good one
Nice rebuild! Looks like you’re ready to conquer 2024 and beyond. Enjoy! 😎
Thank you! What did you think about your week in the van?
Glad to see you looking happier in the rebuilt van, good for you!
I've managed to binge watch your channel in the last 2 weeks. I love the videography, editing and the narrating. I hear you questioning wether or not you want to keep going. I certainly hope you do keep going because you are very good at what you do.
It is truly amazing the amount of stuff you can fit in such a small space and still be beautiful as well as so functional!
light and airy with a minimalist vibe.
Thanks.
Thanks for watching! ☺️
I wish you and your van a wonderful year and a lit of adventures together ☺️
Absolutely the most beautiful van built I have seen online. Great job and timeless look.
😊🚐🙌🏻
You absolutely cracked me up with both of your "Quacks" in post production, and when you modeled your gear at the back of your van.
❤, Russ
I appreciate you Russ! 😊🦆
Hahahahahahaha!!!!! Thank you, Christian! Hahahahahahahaha!@@ChristianSchaffer
I am just stunned that anyone living on the road can keep a van looking in good condition when it is all white inside. I am always walking mud in, getting dirty myself and not always great access to quality showering. Looks amazing. Wish I could manage the white myself
Like the changes. Very efficient. And like your diet. Clean living. My fav was the avocado. Can’t live without them. Stay safe. God bless you. Sending this to one of my sons. Around your age. He wants to get out there and see the country. You’re a good teacher to people who want to start but have no clue. Happy travels!
