- The Nokia Lumia 1520 is a Windows phone from 2014 which was the flagship Windows phone of that year and the largest Windows phone in terms of size and display size. In this video we will be taking a look at the Nokia Lumia 1520 in 2021 and see if its still usable in its state as of now. We will cover the Lumia 1520 Camera, Lumia 1520 Windows Phone Store, display, battery life, performance and many more and basically anything needed to know in using a Lumia 1520 in 2021! Its also considered as a collectors item at this age and since I am phone collector with a massive phone collection, having this phone was a must.
Like promised, this is the Using the Lumia 1520 in 2021 or Lumia 1520 2021 video that I said I will be doing. This also doubles as Using Windows Phone 10 in 2021, Windows Phone 8.1 In 2021 or Windows Phone in 2021 as well! , as I go in detail with the Windows OS and the situation with the Microsoft Store and everything needed to know about Windows Apps in 2021.

It ain't no iPhone 12 Pro Max, Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra, Google Pixel 6, Google Pixel 5a, Samsung Galaxy Fold 3, Motorola Edge S or OnePlus 8T but its definitely an interesting phone in its own league. And in this video lets see how well the Microsoft Lumia 1520 holds up here in 2021, how Windows Phone is in 2021 and whether you should buy a Lumia 1520 in 2021?

Propably in 2-3 years we will get Full Windows on smartphones. Even now you can install Windows 10 or 11 on few Android Smartphones

This has THE BEST camera ive ever used on a phone. You could pull it out of your pocket just click on the picture button and voila not blurred at all

Wireless charging, fast ram, amazing camera. I'm going to start using this phone again in 2021. I don't use apps. It does everything a basic user wants.

Such a great device. I don't think Nokia could have built a better phone at the time. It competed on spec the year it was released and deserved to sell more. This and the 930 were great releases but couldn't carry Windows Phone on their own. If other OEMs have released Windows Phone versions of their flagships maybe it could still be around but Nokia couldn't do all the heavy lifting on its own. I can still use Windows Phone 10 daily but it's getting very hard now. I doubt Microsoft will go back to the drawing board but it's amazing they can't make a competitive mobile OS that would sell today.

Other companies did release Windows Phones. HP, HTC, Asus, Acer, Lenovo, Samsung, ZTE, Toshiba, Huawei. Lots of computer companies jumped in. Windows Phones are just know for the large Nokia acquisition. The issue where Windows Mobile failed, was the lack of app support and that Google really screwed em over with the Google pixel/Android line. Lots of apps remained exclusive to Google (I'm glad stadia got the Axe and that Microsoft got revenge with Xbox Cloud gaming). This phone was the best and so optimized. It was meant to sync with your windows computer and Xbox 360 or Xbox one seamlessly. And tbh it did all of that.
Windows Phones had Android 12 material you like theming all those years back! You just had to choose between 21 accent colours and that would change the accent colours of some of the tiles and the first party apps! Now add into the mix the cameras, dark mode, live tiles the people social media hub, vertical scrolling without needing a dock... Those phones were indeed ahead of their time. Indeed i had to use a launcher to get the live tiles back.

It was ahead of its time - I loved it so much.
The reason it runs smooth is because it doesn't run google background crap services. I bet old android phones would run smooth if it didn't have those services.

The photos are really awesome. Pure from any enchantments and post processing. It does struggle with dynamic range but the natural picture the camera gives sells it for me

I bought my Nokia Lumia 1520 in 2013. The only problem is the lack of apps. It works perfectly as a Tablet of good quality, great speed, excellent battery and good display.
Mine is working g at all. I'm using 1320

Had to cancel that cause China post doesn't allow internal batteries..I got a rarer phone tho..its called Lumia Vela..I will be doing a video on that phone soon

What I can say is that people weren’t ready for that many features packed into one phone.
I remember when I used to talk about the features of this phone and my friends were mucking me and and say why do you need this features and whats the point of that, many years later those features introduced by apple and suddenly people said yeah we needed those.
That is the true definition of people buying Apple phone’s because it has an apple logo on it.
Lumia failed just because people didn’t support it.
I have huawei windows phone / 1320 /950xl way back 2012 -2015 the UI is unique and beautiful much faster than android phones i like the windows features specially the tiles. Hoping Microsoft will bring back ms phone.

Lumia is still the best phone I have ever used... I had owned 520, 720 and 830... I liked all of them... 720 and 830 is still functional... But there is no app support... Even basic app like TH-cam and WhatsApp isn't working... If there is support for basic app alone then I will have no hesitation to use them as primary phone... ThEy are that good... I had never experienced any hang or crashes... Their build, UI, display and usage were top notch... It was very exciting to use while they were fully usable...

All Microsoft had to do is give more freedom to Nokia to do their magic and actually listen to them. They wanted to be open like android and control like apple which doesn't work. Nokia were looking into making some next gen hardware and were good at optimising the buggy wmp but Microsoft didn't have the patience.

When I try to update the store I get error code 0x803FB103 and when I try to update the phone itself to windows 10 I get another error code. Please some aide me. What am I doing wrong? Make sure it is not a time stamp issue. Sometimes if the time is not synchronized, you won't be able to update the store
