The most memorable phone I've ever owned. I really loved the simplicity, cohesiveness, and fluidity of the UI. I really enjoyed the integration to my personal and work account. Unfortunately, the app support was just not great. If only it took off and developers supported this platform, it could have been the best phone ever.
The most remarkable aspect of Nokia phones for me was their software, especially the UI. The UI in Lumia looks so fluid and dynamic as compared to the bland and boring UI in Android and iOS today.
It's utterly unusable though. Even with that massive screen you can barely fit a few items on screen with the metro UI style. Android, while not as pretty maybe, is way more usable and iOS, well I don't know why people like it xD
Ofcourse there will always be people who disagree, I am pro android I would never buy an iPhone but if I was richest person in the world I would pay to make me a windows phone today. It was so colourful and unique.
I simply dont like Nokia HMD designs. Never bought one. But always always looking forward fpr a redesign. Even their candy bar phones from good old symbian could be used with full screen. Just like the 7610.. put the front cam in the bezel top right.
Wireless charging a gimmick because Apple hadn't invented the technology back then. Ha Ha good one😍👍🙂 HMD has to bring back the clear black display tech, now that there are no more pure display tech phones from them.
The Nokia 7 plus from 2018 from HMD has clear black display. Clear black display is basically a polarized display to make the black more black. Sometimes, you can't tell that the 7 plus has only have an IPS display because of that. Colors are vibrant and blacks are deeper compared to conventional IPS displays.
I still have mine. After 2 broken screens it's on its 3rd. Still works like a champ and the battery holds a charge for quite a long time. Upgraded to Windows 10 a couple of years ago.
I got this phone for 2 years and it was one of the amazing phones i ever had. Snapdragon 800, Wireless charging, pure view camera, and a screen that i thought it was amoled since the black was really black like amoled because of nokia's clear black tech. If windows mobile got all support and apps like apple and android, maybe this OS still exist today.
To own a windows phone was a dream when i was a kid..but sadly,when i finally able to buy one,they stopped it. But i have a dream of porting that os to work on an android device of this time...because ,the os was so optimized like ios,and was a charm ,but the lack of apps and cheap android adaptation killed it😥

May be ahead of IOS definitely but not android , as a former WP use , in android back than MediaTek chip it was just one Click root , I remember you can easy hack others's wifi using brute forces and Thier IP address , when screen recording was considered miracle you can do that with root ( and one iOS user was yapping that other don't have screen recording 🤣) Also you could underclock/overclock your device according to your needs , also I remember you could use REAL windows xp in android phone using some kind of ISO emular I guess 🙄 , but it was laggier.. Also remember android has freedom so you can make your android look like WP but you can't do anything on WPn, also it had very bad external app support even outside store. , you needed PC to install apps ... also the lineage os custom rom had more customisable features and user adaptability specially after android 5 launch ( if I remember) , .. But hey I still would never forget that vibe my dad's Lumia 625 gave 😎 I remember my friends 16 GB rom phone was filled up and lagging but not even single problem in 0.5 GB ram Lumia
Back in 2013 I was so excited when it just launched, I was even pick my Casio fx-570 calculator and imagine it as the Lumia 1520 due to similar size. But sadly I was only a student back then and I was unable to afford this such an expensive flagship
This is my 1st windows phone. I chose it over the Note 3 that time. Loving its polycarbonate build and also the large screen by the time at 6 inches. I remember I'm undecided between the 1020 and the 1520, eventually I chose 1520 because of large display.
I had Lumia 950 back then & all I ever wanted in that phone was a TH-cam app 😭😭. After 2 years of use I sold it to my friend & brought Samsung galaxy S4.
We got one of the best TH-cam clients for Windows phone made by Nokia... then google forced them to remove it 2 weeks later. MyTube was awesome for TH-cam though.
1520 and 930 were my absolute favourite, best Lumia phones, let me rephrase it, the best phone in design, camera, and reliability ever launched until that time, so much ahead of time, like hmd global talk about user satisfactions, no phone is ever reached the level of satisfaction reached by these two phones
This phone was such a nice design and great build quality. If ever there was a phone that almost converted me to the Windows Mobile platform it was this one. But at the time the asking price was too steep and I ultimately chose to go on with BlackBerry and it’s BB10 OS and devices. There is a reason why I’ve always liked Nokia phones and this device is an example of why that is.

I really miss my Lumia 1520! So many things about it was ahead of its time! I had originally gone with the Note 3 at the time then later bought the Lumia 1520. At first I missed the note taking features of the Note 3 but eventually adjusted and really appreciated the Lumia offerings and the beauty of the Windows Phone OS.

Windows mobile was the best phoen OS I used. Even today. It's Cortona integration with hands free was perfect, Android and iPhone still dont do it as well.
I had this phone. I accidently dropped it in a pale of water, the screen got damaged, repair center advised me to just buy a new one because the screen costs as much as the phone. A few days later it healed itself. Such a great phone.

I still have my Lumia 1520. I had it working for 5+ years. I wish Microsoft still allowed it to have phone calls etc. I love it. After it I had an iPhone 6 which I ended up hating and only had for 3 months. Then I had a Samsung then Oppo and now I'm back to Nokia with the x20. I still have the 1520 and it's in working con but the reception etc doesn't work. Even when putting in a Sim card.
I miss mine. Best phones ever. When apps started to disappear, and it got to the point where I couldn’t even use it to make basic tasks happen, it was time to go. Very very sad.
Whenever I watch your videos my eyes are going to fill with tears. I used nokia X2 01 Lumia 610 and Lumia 520. I always wanted to purchase the nokia N8 but didn't accomplished that desire. Today I use iphone 7 and ONEPLUS 9r but honestly that feeling which we got in the Nokia phones are far superior and classic than this

It was a solid beast. I have uploaded some concert videos, because of the AWESOME built in microphones (although I hate recording at concerts) and the sound was and is still over the top. Over 100+decibel and you can hear everything crystal clear.
Phone design is Epic even today. Windows software was great. But the REAL problem was 1- crippled options in OS (whereas Android has tons of options) which didn't offer much to user to take full advantage of hardware & software. Eg. File transfer to PC, limited file explorer, confusing apps like settings, contacts, messaging (only made just to appear different from Android/iOS). 2-Lack of Google apps was another major setback for Windows phones.
An updated version of the 1520 is my dream Nokia device. I had a white one and absolutely loved it. It may possibly be my favourite Nokia. Even now Nokia's are missing lots of the features that went into the 1520. When people say....... They don't make them like they used to, it's especially true of Nokia. Nokia is big on nostalgia...... So come on, give us an updated version. Great video👍
That would be awesome. The big screen is very much fitted for Meego's superb multitasking capabilities.I'm sure if it was properly developed, it might have a multi screen or split screen display.

Some androids today you can't get 6 icons across the screenm.
Android UI is boring? Windows Phone UI couldn't be altered with themes.

Nokia Lumia and HTC were hitting hard in 2011-2017. It's pity that both of them are near death now.
