I honestly think its nasty how gens can fly by so fast just because you dont have enough gen regression. They should honestly nerf all gen regression and make gens at base a lot slower, that way you would see a more varied builds on killers
That would be nice, but it would be a very big change that would feel bad for survivors (even if it wasn't actually that bad) so I'm not expecting to see it.
Yeah you pretty much have to run at least one gen perk. I usually run two, and still I frequently get gen rushed and I'm forced to start camping hooks or tunneling out survivors just to have a chance.
I see where you're coming from, but considering what makes playing survivor "fun" is not sitting still hitting skill checks for a lot of players, I don't think that's the right move. It's a game. People play it to have fun, if changes are made that make the game feel less fun, it's not a good change. It's a bandaid for killers, a slap in the face for survivors, especially if nerfed gen regression actually stays relevant due to the increased time spent on gens, meaning more value out of regression, nerfed or otherwise.
@@goldeagle7106 You might be on the right track, honestly, the problem though is that at high MMR survivors know to basically never do a 2 person heal because it's so inefficient compared to just doing gens and eventually a 3 person full reset, which causes "gen rushing" and if heals were even slower that would just compound the problem. If there was some penalty for doing gens injured, that could change, but once again it's important that you don't rob either side of having fun in the name of balance.
You’re the first person I’ve seen comment on the DMS changes and I agree with you. Lots of killer perks got buffed this patch. Probably just gonna nerf pig lol.
Haha poor Amanda. And yes, while making this video I did a lot of searching and I haven't seen a single person even mention it, it's completely under the radar but it's such a huge change.
I'm surprised not many people realized this, I saw it as a buff since they released the PTB notes. Considering most matches are soloq, they won't be coordinated to counter it... people may get better at playing around DMS in the future, but for the moment it's really strong right now.
I think an even better user of new DMS is Dredge with the addon that opens lockers near survivors when you teleport. You can usually proc the full 50s by teleporting away from hook for BBQ / Friends til the End and startling someone else off their gen (especially if bedtime is active)
Damn I didn't even know DMS only activated once a survivor lets go now, that's way more valuable than the additional time. You did a really good showing of its strength alone, well done!
Bbq, DMS, Pain res on freddy with class photo is my new meme build. Nobody can ever do gens without risking getting getting kicked off immediately or getting teleported to
Try thrilling tremors instead of BBQ, it might give you more accurate info. I'm not sure if it'll be better but it's worth experimenting with. A good chase perk like rapid brutality would make a great final perk too.
@@TheScreamMachine Yea I use rapid on him. It's not necessarily part of the build's functionality so I didn't mention it since it could be swapped for something else.
I ran this with level 1 on billy and it stopped 90%+ gens twice resulting in at least a down before they popped it. This is a huge buff that procs at least 3+ times for 50 seconds!
Thanks man! That perk is so much fun on Hill Billy or pick the map mobility killer of your choice. 50 seconds of slow down every 50 seconds or so on the gen of your choice. Unless the survivors adjust. Hilarious!
Wait does pain res not work with dms anymore? I'd figure it'd be a HUGE buff to the combo as pain res only applies to one gen thats usually being worked on anyway. Knock off a flat 20% and immediately tell anyone on it to pound sand for the next 50 seconds seems pretty decent. Especially if you saved your tokens for late game.
It still does work, don't worry. Just be aware that with DMS lasting 50 seconds now there will be more scenarios where the gen with the most progress is blocked by DMS and you'll want to save a pain res stack for when it's unblocked.
I still disagree because I had a match against people and they made this mostly irrelevant. In the team this perk is horrible especially if you don't kill anyone. Not with a lot of progress. Let go then just go somewhere else or finish healing. This will be easy to counter for the most common players. Heck they'll know you'll have it every one of the natural.
I use a track from X-COM: UFO Defense, one of my favorite games. There's a mod for it called "Openxcom" that makes it playable on modern computers with some nice upgrades too.
Dms rocks with Freddy and pain res, i realized i didnt need deadlock anymore so its either devour hope or hex ruin. Since Freddy likes his chase of course .
Haha I was actually a bit afraid of the perk getting nerfed because of this video, but my viewership is much smaller than any of the big content creators so I'm sure this video will fly under the radar.
Its a strong perk now, not op. The previous combo is obviously nerfed. Dms grim blocked all gens for like 20-30secs? Thats the problematic op category, way stronger than this 50sec block. This way is more fair, others can repair gens. You can counter it like you mentioned, tap a non progresed gen and leave it. But togethet with painres you can get a 50sec block on the most progressed gen, thats really good. But i think its Okay still. Like we all already know how to dodge painres, then someone with the least progress should leave the gen. It will be an extra, but survs can adapt i think.
Don't forget that old dms/grim will only block every gen that's currently being worked on for 30 seconds as opposed to all gens, and only works 4 times, so while there are scenarios where you get crazy value with the old combo, it's much less likely against good teams. That being said, I'm hoping you're right and survivors just adapt to new DMS.
Its better on the end game now , but in early is not that good , but i think thats a good buff bcs now it can work on more killer instead of just artist etc.
As an artist main the new rework is kinda of a nerf but i still like DMS and i hope it will not get nerfed again since gen regression sucks gen blocking is our only solution
Oh, Artist is an excellent killer for taking advantage of the old DMS, I completely see what you mean. She's one of the few killers I never play so I didn't even think of her. New DMS is definitely weaker on her but she should still be good at using it.
I think that method of thinking is flawed. If you're speaking purely of DMS + grim then yes, it's a nerf in scenarios where survivors are getting pushed off of multiple gens, but not only was this change designed specifically to nerf that scenario, that combo will only work 4 times per match and can still be played around by good survivors (as they'll know you have grim after the first hook and can see when you're about to hook a survivor and will know to get off the generator in time to stop the combo). Without grim embrace, if you're playing a highly mobile killer who can consistently find and push survivors off of multiple generators at once you MIGHT be able to get more value from old DMS but any killer high tier enough to pull that off (like blight or nurse) is already strong enough to not need DMS at all, and even then I'd still argue that new DMS is far stronger for them. Also, it's very silly to try and frame blocking a generator for 50 whole seconds as being a bad thing for the killer. Remember, hooking a survivor while old DMS was active did NOT reset the timer.
@@TheScreamMachine You're right. Even with really mobile characters, by the time you'd push multiple (good) survivors off, the DMS timer was pretty low and the gens wouldn't get blocked for long.
Correct, whatever progress they were at when blocked will remain, so if they were kicked at 50% they'll still be kicked at 50% once it unblocks, at which point it will continue to regress. That also counts for perks like surge and pain res, the gen will not regress from them while blocked.
@@TheScreamMachine So, if i hook a survivor and pain res consumes a stack to regress a blocked gen, I basically ate a stack for nothing? or will the pain res take the gen with the second most progress?
@@MiserableMuon Honestly, I'm not sure. I would assume it would hit the gen with the next most progress, or perhaps not hit any gen at all, but I need to sit down and do some testing to find out.

Na what they should do is make base healing take a bit longer, if they organised they undo all my pressure too quickly and right back to gens
