  • Our family has been filling our freezers with organic meat and doing predator control with long range equipment for years. Our choice of hunting rifles currently are from Gunwerks. Thank you for watching and let me know if you have any questions

Thank you all for watching. Our history with long range originally started with using Gunwerks rifles. Over time, a good friend of ours, LPR, started building long range equipment, and so Travis made the decision to help him out. As of last year, the Stuck N The Rut family sat down and we had to make an important decision. That was to go back in using Gunwerks equipment. We are grateful for the opportunity to work with Gunwerks and use their equipment in the backcountry. Lane builds great guns, and so does Gunwerks. We decided to go back to Gunwerks because of how they treat their customers and how fast they can get a quality rifle in your hands. As a reminder, we all have our jobs outside of Stuck N The Rut. Hunting videos is more of a hobby for our family. That being said, we can't be bought, we only work with companies that we like and trust and have positive experiences with, that's what separates us from the rest of the influencers in the hunting industry. If you have any questions, feel free to ask. We are an open book.

I noticed in previous videos you were using an XLR chassis system. As a backpack hunter, would you still recommend getting a folding stock chassis or save up and go with a Gunwerks rifle?

I had a 7 Saum build by Gunwerks that has a ClymR Stock 18" barrel that is very lightweight on my hunting pack. I like it very much, and I do like my XLR chassis as well, it really has to do with what your preference is.

Gun Werks Rifles area nice choice if your spending 3-5k on your rifle. Any custom rifle build is around the same price. If I was looking for a custom build, Gun Werks would be in the running.
I’m more of 7mm fan so a 7 PRC or 28 Noslar would be my option.

I'm not understanding the purpose of a 300 PRC with a 20" barrel for long range hunting.
No way it's burning all that powder, lowering velocity considerably which takes away the long-range capability.
Just as well have a 300 WSM shorter action, less powder, less recoil and with 20' barrel about the same velocity.
300 Win Mag been around since 1963 and does the same as 300 PRC.
Too Funny how people play into this long-range stuff.

The whole unburnt powder might as well have a smaller cartridge thing is pretty massively over exaggerated imo
