Great video👍😊 tract optics has a 4.5-30x56 34 mm tube toric HD scope , it has German schott glass and cost 1700.00. I’ll put it up against night force, vortex and leupold. The best turrets I’ve used and zero stop.. amazing glass, better than all 3.. tracking and sub tensions match perfectly, you can see reviews online.. I’ll never buy a big name scope again.. you are getting screwed by heavy price markups..don’t waste your money , all these companies use Japanese glass..
This is awsome info, but as a young and broke college student who aspires to be a recon guy and is trying to gain an edge in shooting, what would you recommend in terms of a setup on a budget?

WOW !! im 65 years old been shooting since i was 9 years old. Been hunting big game since i was 13 deer , elk, antelope, bear, filled many many tags. My old 700 rem in .270 win made lots of meat for our freezer. 3x9 leupold varyx2 good out to 300 yards. Most of my shots where 200y or under. Im curious Sir do you carry all that "kit" by yourself? Now im enjoying ELR shooting .375 lunatic it shoots good out to 2 mile but never put no back strap on the table. Just my opinion but it looks like " hunting " has moved from stealth, knowledge of the game your hunting, and bush craft to rocket science ? Maybe that 400 gr. Berger will leave a little bit of meat worth eating but that 130 grain nosler partition never failed me. God bless you and thank you for your science.

I like your thaught process on long range hunting. The only counter i will present is time of flight.
At 700 yds od so t. O. F is a real concern. A deer can take a step and your great shot just turned into a terrible day.
Ive had it even at point blank. deer steps as trigger pulled and results in guts haning out.
We have a saying here. Those who say theyve never had a deer wounded are ither liars or havent shot many deer.

Where to buy that bipod.
This conversation is way off. A high-quality barrel is WAY more important than a scope will ever be. Even a cheap scope can see the target, but without an accurate barrel, you can forget hitting it. Ya don't ever NEED a chassis system either. That crap is WAY overhyped and overpriced. Lastly, bubble levels work in the cold, ya don't NEED an electronic level.

This may be a really stupid, but I can only assume you shoot with both eyes open. What are the advantages of shooting with both eyes open as opposed to a single eye open? Thank you for your time. I really enjoy your content as just became a subscriber.
Hi there, shooting with both eyes gives you more situational awareness. Shooters have different approaches, but generally speaking, many use one eye or squint their non-dominant eye when shooting for precision or when shooting long range.

@@nascartim9343 Muscular Relaxation is one of three elements to a solid position. This includes relaxation of eyes. A closed eye strains the other eye. Shoot from dominate eye and use an eye patch or shield attached to eye wear to shield the non dominate eye then concentration on the reticle's relationship to target (sight picture) will cause the brain to reject closure of non-dominate eye.
Beware the hype. You can spend 10x as much for 2% improvement. And shooting "sports" have become a business. When it comes to optics and rifle accuracy at long rang, you're at the mercy of the atmosphere.

Thanks for opinions, however; you get out of your truck and set up a base, sit in a chair, use thousands of dollars worth of equipment to scan for an animal. Elk is just grazing and gets a whole blown in to it. Machines, tools .80, man .20 animal zip, that is NOT sport, it's just killing your pray without the animal having any chance. SPORT is tracking, hunting them down, getting close enough for an ethical shot.....all done giving the animal the chance of escape......that is hunting, this long range shooting of animals is just a slaughter. Now, competitive shooting, that's ethical and a great sport.
It’s far more difficult than you are imagining. Not to mention most hunting involves multiple miles of hiking, stalking and packing out the animal. As far as ethics - harvesting an animal in the wild and filling your freezer with free-range wild meat is FAR more ethical (and healthier to consume) than modern meat farming.
There is absolutely nothing wrong with slaughtering. No reason for hunting to be “sporting”. Animals are to be harvested for what they can provide. No need for games. Long range effectiveness is just another tool/skill to keep in your tool box.
