Awesome tutorial! I was in a talk of a graphic designer who does similar fluid design at Adobe Max last year. I love it so much but don't know how she made it. She talked about using blend tool and stacking up other effects to create exquisite shapes and objects but didn't explain the fluid. Thx~~~
Great tutoral, but every time I get to change the line path to gradient it refuses to change it and goes straight to making the fill gradient. Is there a step missing to convert the two paths so that they are the only ones that will allow themeselves to change to gradient?? (2:52 - I cannot get further then here) :/
Maybe, you are missing the step where i selected the Stroke icon in the tool bar. Before you apply the gradient, you have to select the stroke icon and then apply the gradient color. Let me know if you get it right!

I did select it, the problem is as soon as I go to gradient after it automatically selects the fill for gradient instead...I don't know why it does that, it won't allow for the stroke to be gradiented. I don't know if there is a step to change the line to something else so the gradient accepts it as something to be altered to gradient. I am using CS5.

cs5 doesn't support gradient strokes, newer versions like CC do
