👌 Great use of the Warp tool, btw, it’s not rap, it’s warp. I would like to work it all the way in illustrator, so I will use your steps, new Illustrator 2022 must have tools to create it with out finishing off in Photoshop, maybe the new 3D tools introduced recently. 🙏👌
Hi! The instructions are clear and to the point. For my first attempt, the stripes did not place smoothly on the shape. They were thick and thin at some points. I guess it will be better once practiced. Overall, great techniques from creating the ribbon to finishing up the final image in photoshop! Thanks.
Hey Lakshmi, everything basically lies in how you created your mesh/ how fluent your mesh is. If you are still getting irregular lines, you can use the mesh tool to add points to your shape to allow for more fluid build. Also, you can substitute Line Segment Tool with the Rectangle Tool (+ fill - stroke) incase the lines begin to give you issues.
The edges of my black lines are not flowing all the way to the end of the shape when curved. Anyone else have this problem? When I made the line symbol, I made sure it lined up all the way to the edge. It has a jagged edge, like the end of a line path. Any ideas?
What do you do to make the pattern follow the edges of the ribbon shape? When I follow the tutorial I see the square edges of the black lines going outside of the shape...
Oh my god! How can a human being with such creativity be possible? I'm an atheist, but in those hours I get undecided. Your job is amazing. Congratulations!
Hello actually i tried out the same thing in illustrator but it is not coming properly i dnt knw what have to do... when i am dragging the lines are going unproportionaly.. also the edges of the line not bending instead it looks likes slopy edges also out of the shape...
Greetings sir! I was following this tutorial and doing the exact same, using illustrator 2022. but unfortunately the black lines are not staying on shape while enveloping. cannot find out what the issue is.
Thank you for the great tutorials. so helpful. And I have a problem to make these ribbons. When I apply envelope with the top object, the edges with the tip of lines are not even and I don't know why...
When I apply the strips on the S shape by sending the strips back i:e send to back and then selecting both shapes and then apply Envelop Distort --> Make with Top Object, the result is complete mess. The strips don't get aligned with the shape automatically they are placed randomly over the S. is there any solution of this??
those who are watching it in 2021 like me and didn't get the edges of enveloped lines match with curvature of shape after envelop distort, please expand the lines to shape. The thing with line as symbols is not working in higher versions probably.
The struggle was legit! I thought it's a simple shape to create. But it wasn't as easy as it looked. I finally had to follow the video to create the shapes.
For someone who is fairly new to Illustrator. Why did you skip/fast forward the part to use the Direct select tool. Its hard to try to make the curves you want when you don't explain how you do it. Sorry but I could not keep up with your tutorial.
There's much more simple, faster ways of making those shapes towards the beginning, rather than forming it from a rectangle. You could draw a line, put a massive stroke on it, expand the stroke, and slice it off at the end with the pathfinder.
I think it's because all the hue/saturation effects in Photoshop are darkening the orange color. If you were to turn them all off, the orange color should be the same intensity as in illustrator.
you blew my mind like 3 times in a row. The cntl+D and the envelope thing are game changers. Thank you. So much to think about.

I'm having a little more luck by making the pattern from a shape, not a stroke.
Thank you! I was having the same problem and your solution fixed it (sort of) for me! :D
rasterize the line before you make the line pattern....then the ends of the line will follow the shape_mesh
But if i rasterize, then i will get some weird blank space between the line. Just use shape instead of stroke line..;)
I am having the same problem - did you work it out?
you are a master of your craft.it's an honor to learn from you.
Thank you very much! This is the best video on creating folds I have ever watched on YT
Amazing! I can understand every word you say and this arabic (I guess) accent is nice. You arabic guys are the best designers for sure. Thanks!

Thank you for the great tutorials. so helpful. And I have a problem to make these ribbons. When I apply envelope with the top object, the edges with the tip of lines are not even and I don't know why...
instead of drawing lines, draw rectangles. It should work.
@@abigaillyj Thank you Abigail! Had the same problem, it helped!

Great effect, nice tutorial. Thank U!
wow! awesome tutorial and never seen before. Thank you for sharing! can't wait to play
Is rly necessary to create symbol? I can't just create this line pattern as a normal object?
Amazing tutorial! Thank you so much
The symbol will wrap the line along/around the shape. :) Normal line won't.
I just notice the highlight layer.
You should edit the shading after you transform the shapes.
Thanks💕💕💕
why is it imp to send the rect with lines to back?
Very Very good Tutorial. Thanks a lot for this perfect video

Birk Bergdahl hey I maybe wrong but I think these tutorials are made for people who are a bit familiar to the software
¿What is the classical music of the first seconds of the vídeo? I reaaally want it!
Really cool tutorials.

very nice but easy
You are just amazing
nice work! thanks to the lesson
simply amazing)
Simple and nice. Tanks
Is it possible to do this with a flag in Illustrator?....Great tutorial by the way
if you could somehow import the flag texture as a symbol, it should theoretically work the exact same way once you "make with top object" it
Thank you
wow great
very nice.
You're my super hero
Big Thanks
Shadows under ribbon are a bit unrealistic... everything else is very good. Thanks!

Thanks
thank you!
Orange color in illustrator is not come exactly in photoshop. Why?
TRY this values on RGB - R-255 G-100 B-0 (OR)
Hex value as FF8000.
I think it's because all the hue/saturation effects in Photoshop are darkening the orange color. If you were to turn them all off, the orange color should be the same intensity as in illustrator.
Great!!
Thank for that.
Thank you!!!
Awesome! :D
wow awesome tip !!!~
