    Hey Andrew - excellent video! I have a two year old 4044R Cab with 3rd, 4th and 5th SCV's - and a Frontier Root Grapple - Paid $53K for it new. Love the machine, but agree with recommendations you cited in the video. But unfortunately, I think mine was made from letfover parts and very poor quality control from the factory. It has been out of service and in the shop a total of 73 DAYS since purchase, much of the time waiting for new parts....multiple unseated o-ring failures, undersized o-rings installed, rock shaft control valve cover leaking, bearing failure in fan pulley, SCV cables backed out of spool valve, alternator failed, fluid line loose one full turn (leakage), tranny leak - had to remove and reseal, paint peeling on FEL were the major issues. Dealer has been great in addressing all this, but very disappointed in the product...JD Corporate no help in this! Felt it was important to have potential buyers of 4000 Series do the homework before purchasing. Also make sure that the local dealer will stand behind the product.

    • @TKCL
      @TKCL  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Wow that's crazy, way too many problems. Hate to hear that, JD is normally known as reliable.

    Great review
    Just to add a note about the aircon, in my experience why johndeere aircon's don't have a recirculation function is because they use a pressuriser system.
    The system pulls the bulk of it's air from the outside filteres it and pushes it into the cab. This means cabin always has a excess of air so if your door rubbers are a little leaky, back window or where control functions enter the cab this extra air gets pushed out all those leaks stopping dust and debris from entering the cab. This is pretty much how a spray painting booth system works.
    Cool feature if your doing a lot of chemical spraying you can replace the filter with an active charcoal unit and the pressuriser system significantly to totally eliminates the chance of contaminated air trying to enter the cab. Because of its excess air being pushed out everywhere the air in the cabin is being constantly replaced.
    A recirculation system does eventually lose enough air that it will pull air from all those leaks allowing unfiltered outside contaminated air to constantly enter the cab.
    I have in older units blocked off 3/4 of the outside filter with cardboard to increase the amount it recirculates. Don't block it off, it just makes the pressuriser fan work harder than need be assuming its ducted separately like the bigger models.

    • @TKCL
      @TKCL  ปีที่แล้ว

      Very valid point! Thanks

    • @carzkartz9080
      @carzkartz9080 ปีที่แล้ว

      @TKCL you are correct of course that some of their systems cannot handle the hotter humid climates like I live in also. This is caused by the aircon unit being insufficient for these conditions. It's an unfortunate engineering trade off.
      This trade off is caused by the entire vehicle manufacturing sectors focus on emissions and fuel consumption. Heating is engineeringly free, your engine is making heat anyway, cooling is an external parasitic drag. The more capable you make the aircon the more energy you need to do it. Because the pressuriser system already requires a more robust system than usual and the engineering focus is emissions they are willing to trade off less effective units in weather extreme areas such as where you and I live to appease the emissions focus.

    Look at the brand Llumar to get your tractor cab colder. It's a clear ceramic window tint that we use on our K9 vehicle windshields for added protection. It won't restrict your view while operating in low light. It blocks 99% of UV light.

    My 5085M does not have the gas strut on the second door either. If you had a recirculating feature you would loose the positive pressure feature and would incur dust inside. I am looking at buying a 4066R because of the fender features but leaning towards a Massey 2055M

    I'd say that AC air circ is a big issue in hot climates like yours. Plus any of the add-on implements that need hydraulic power should come standard. Plus you know the radio is going to be a piece of junk. You're in the business. You know it😂 All in all, absolutely fair. Andrew, good job!

    • @gearslingers1490
      @gearslingers1490 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@TKCL those are good my buddy has some good high end ceramic tint on his car from the outside you can’t see in but from the inside looking out it’s like it’s not even on there. But we tinted the windows on our Massey cab tractor and it whent from wide open a/c stayin around 73-74 inside on a hot day pulling it down into the high 60s on a hot day. And the tint will also protect aginst fading of interior panels and panels warping in the cab over time. Also we have Volvo excavator and we were clearing the woods one day and my grand father had a limb whip off a tree and smacked the glass shattering it. Now the glass on it was just temperd glass that would have busted and whent flying but since he had tint film on the window it crept it contained and off him. It was a nice saftey thing that we didn’t think about. But I’m not shure your glass on your cab might be laminated therefore you wouldn’t have that problem

    • @gearslingers1490

    If you live in the suburbs and have a nice lawn to mow, a fence with gate you need to get into, and a couple acres and a few trees to spread mulch on and a short gravel draiveway to maintain and a few materials ho haul around the property that you could do in a wheel barrel if you really had to, then buy a compact tractor. Anything more than that, get a utility tractor. Compact tractors are riding mowers with buckets.

      I'll probably always have my John Deere. However if I get equipment to try, why not? I look at it a different way. It gives me an opportunity to test and review something smaller/larger than I currently have and or in a different price range. That's particularly useful for our viewers who have different needs, different size properties and or different requirements for equipment. I'd think a lot of viewers would appreciate the content and a look at something that's not $60,000 or more dollars.

      If a company came to you and gave you a machine to play with for free, you certainly would take it, don't lie.
      Although I wouldn't give up the tractor I have, I'd certainly be open for another brand to offer up a comparable machine to do videos on in a VS type format.

      Well you don’t know me or what I’d do so your comment is really stupid.

      I see both sides of the argument. As a content creator I'm always looking for fresh, new and exciting content. A new piece of equipment checks those boxes for my particular channel and viewers. Some won't agree with it and that's OK, others will appreciate something new, cheaper, different ect. Long story short, I don't make content and get views, I don't survive.

      You've came to the wrong channel then, I've never shyed away from reviews, they've always been on the channel. We work and we review, it helps people make informed decisions on purchases. That's something I've always loved TH-cam for.
