hi there, i remember these dumpers in the early 60s as a child.on road wks etc, you can still get air filter element for this dumper.
I think this one may be 60’s. Amazingly you can, check out stationaryengineparts.com
Its awesome truck for small jobs
How about
Flush the engine
Change the oil with higher grade oil
Run air gun in the housing to blow out the mouse nest
Wash out the air inlet.
New air filter
Hi Christopher, these are all plans for the future so keep your eyes peeled for the next video. 😅
W D 40 means water displacement it's not a lubercant
Awesome
Didn't see you activate the cold start, at the pump, move the throttle linkage out, watch it spring back to excess fuel position.
Thanks for the advice, I know nothing about these machines, didn’t even know there was a cold start!
When you start it you don't need to get the handle out the moment you throw the decompressor, you can crank it through as many compressions as you can manage (as long as the ratchet in your handle is not stuck)
I learned to drive my dads one when I was 9 10
Young fella won't you consider the rings might be where the smoke may be from? Run it first and heat up the engine block some by blocking of the cooling fan inlet see if the oil rings will reseat!
Didn’t even think about that! Thanks for the tip
Fantastic progress
I would try to remove the studs and give the injector a twist and hopefully break the seal
Thanks again for the comment I’m glad you liked the video.
Good idea, it may not have been removed in its lifetime so I’m expecting it to take some persuasion 😬
Good video
Thanks, glad you liked it!
Stop using easystart, these engines never need it operate the excess fuel.
if some one has used the decompression lever to stop it the exughst valve will be coked up to stop its the lever below the pump
it could do with an injector overhaul
You cant fix what isn't broken !!! Leave the thing alone its running as well as they ever did !!!
Be careful with easy starting when I use it on my dumper it often runs backwards
Thanks for the warning! Hopefully I won’t have to use it once I get that dodgy injector sorted
Yes... because its an air cooled lister that were designed to be abused.
That’s why I love it!
@@RiptonFarm Use to use small dumpers like this in the shipyard I worked in back in the early 80's. They were great for moving tools, oxy cylinders, props, wedges and keel blocks around... the yard had around 10 of them. Every Friday, one would be sent out on the fish and chip run.
What was the main thing them was mostly used for
Hauling dirt, stone, concrete on building sites.
Use the cold start lever you will never need easy start ever again
Have a look at the way the man starts his dumper with a ratchet strap
Sounds like a good idea, I’ll look it up, thanks!
@@RiptonFarm i will try and send you the link for it 🔗⚒️🚜💡
Always stop these by throwing the decompression lever back to 12 o clock
The manual says to never turn it off by the decompression lever 😬
Stop them using the fuel stop.
Never use the decompression lever to stop the engine use the throttle lever
