Hi There, I was a road contractor 45 years ago and I had three of these, fantastic little machines, mine were all road registered. Please show the paint job and other refurbishments (Melbourne Australia).

Fantastic 👍 I've not seen one of these since the mid 70s. I were 8 years old Great to see you got it running and drivng 😉.

Hi, Please continue with this series, it takes me back to the early to mid 1970's when we had one on our new house build site, I was only 11 but was mystified by the noise of this little dumper. Me and my friend even tried to get it going, with no mechanical knowledge at all, we did not succeed by we did nearly make it roll down a bank into the house. We blocked the wheels and left hastily. Ah! 'those were the days'.

Sure was! I will however have to recondition that other injector eventually to get my spare engine up and running. 😬

I enjoyed the videos, I use to drive one back in the 70s
If memory serves me right there is a lever that can be seen at 13.54 near where your adjusting the idle, that stops the engine

Did you have the pressure gauge shutoff valve open? The knob when fully tightened disables the gauge so it doesn't wear out while you're doing tests that don't require a pressure reading, it is enough to loosen it half a turn to enable the gauge.

THOSE INJECTORS ARE POPPING OFF AT WAY TOO LOW A PRESSURE! You will have to look up the specification for that engine/injector.

I did wonder if the injector tester was setup right, as doesn't the screw knob next to the pressure gauge need "tightening down" until a pressure reading is shown (I assumed it was tighten the adjuster down as this holds the pressure reading in the gauge)?

Great video I would love to see a total strip down of this model and a nice fresh coat of paint

Thanks for the feedback! Unfortunately this is a budget resto, but maybe one day we will strip it completely, stay tuned!

FYI open the valve to the pressure gauge to see what pressure it pops at.

    Hi mate.
I have just bought one the exact same as this but it is in pieces.
    Im new to this.
Please could you take a close up of where the gearbox connects to the drive axle.
Is there some sort of coupling?
Nothing cane with the one i have.
    Any help would be awesome.

I'd definitely be changing the oil after all that fuel washing down the cylinder.

    • @RiptonFarm
      @RiptonFarm  ปีที่แล้ว

Agreed, oil and all the filters are the next job on the list.
