The new type of challenge lock, difficult to pick. A nightmare to gut. Bill at 10:54 I was shouting use a shim but you apparently didn't hear me so I shouted louder.
Bottom of the key way tension: too easy Top of the key way tension: to hard Middle of the key way tension: Just Right Gutting wise I don't think you can be blamed for this one, I think it was doomed from the start. Great video Bill, as always!!
The old round Abloy locks, we used to have those on our lockers in high-school. The head janitor had a master key that could open all locks, if you forgot to bring your key. But then you had to leave your locker unlocked for the day.
That chamber 3 is way mangled... did you check the key in the core with the keypins. To see why the key didn't want to work?? I suppose it doesn't really matter that the key didn't want to work.... It didn't WHOOP you... you got it picked anyway!!! Great job picking it TWICE!!!! LOL You The MAN!!!!
Don't you just love those late night/early morning battles? You put a whoopin on that stubborn little guy. Maybe I should order a couple .010 picks JIC.
Great job! Bill, I used my Multipick Set for the first time yesterday, long story short, the wife locked me inside the house(or so I thought!) I got through the Lockwood double deadlock in about 2 mins but I spent over an hour trying to pick the keyed alike security screen! After failing I tried my luck on the front door & after another 30 MINS I realised that the first 'pick' of the other Deadlock was nothing more than a fluke! 😅
I think the extra hole was to somehow get pin 3 stuck and not allow it to rotate more, a trap of sorts. Also Assa i easiest gutted by rotating the core 180º and slide the drivers out one at a time through the keyway. Unless someone drills something there....
EOD training pays off in LIFE! 😜 I was a poor, inner city derelict, with no future until EOD school. NOW look at me. Crap. Not a lot has changed after all, I'm just older now...
That's why I don't like the word mastered, it's almost like saying you quit learning. I don't know how many times things have blown up in my face cause I got into a hurry. Also the fact you still have all your fingers makes you alot more trustworthy lol
My digital camera splits videos at 5Gb, or about 15 minutes or so. I have to splice them together during editing. It looks like I didn't get all of the black overlay frames out - one or two slipped through.
Here's a trick I've used to change out the cores when in a pinch. Not the big fat sharpie marker but next size up from the one that you use to mark these faces with they are just under size of a kwikset lock core. Also talking about excuses. You do know what an excuse is, right? The skin of a reason stuffed full of lies. Nice job on this one fire sure.
Why would you send bill a lock so butchered that the key is inop and can hardly be disassembled.. not cool. But my boy still got it done! You rock bill
Well, I certainly don't suspect any malice on "Adam Sweden's" part, maybe just shouldn't have been built in his car? Still couldn't stop Bill though, that's why we watch! Cool to see the old Abloy locks, and that they have always been a challenge to pick. One of the properties I maintain is a former manufacturing facility, large enough to have it's own substation on site, and the local Electric company (AEP Ohio) secures the substation gate with an Abloy 330. I suspected it would be a WB or something similar.. guess they've been watching Bosnian Bill!
Hey Bill! Quick question. You once recommended repinnable practice locks from a gentleman on ebay, but I can't find any links on Lock-Lab.com, nor the specific video. They were really high quality locks with variable cores and keyways, with repinning sets, lots of extra security pins, etc... Do you happen to remember these practice locks? I saved it on ebay, but it somehow got deleted... And they looked really great, too!
I think you're talking about another LockSporter named Jimu57. He sold padlocks and other LockSport stuff on eBay and currently has a listing for assa pins. Maybe you can message him and ask the question. His listing now is www.ebay.com/itm/ASSA-security-drivers-bump-resistant-12-pack/261996665249?hash=item3d0037d9a1:g:x0sAAOSwXYtY09fX
Wow, I wish someone would randomly send me some beautiful padlocks like that! 😁 Very nice of Mr Sweden.😊 This time, the gutting wasn't your fault!!!😁 Pin 3 chamber looks like some alien Swedish technology that I also don't understand.🤔🤔🤔
Don, had I known that you appreciate high quality locks like this one I would have sent my favorite re-pinned master lock #3. Yeah, it was caught in a fire and doused with urine, but still occasionally works. All I need is your address buddy. Holding my breath...
The curiosity was KILLING me so I milled it in half. Turns out the "ball bearing" was a blob of brazing material that dripped into the core when he repaired that big hole we saw. It was not a ball bearing and there was no spring - it was just a repair.
LMAO Adam done a job on you! No Key? No Problem! Let me get my Plasma cutter out of the car It's a win win for you tho you got it opened and some very nice locks for your efforts, well done.
Well, you should SEE some of the challenge locks that show up in the LockLab. My favorite was the one that was epoxied together into a glob. No key. Core seized up. Covered in rust & corrosion. The guy wanted me to pick it, re-pin it, and make him a key before returning it...
Used widely in Northern Europe and very popular. I would expect that these, as well as the standard Euro cylinders, will slowly but surely become a universal standard. Yes, even in the metric-resistant U.S. 😋

Ha! I can't tell you how many hours I've spend on those two commercial locks! Even with 0.010" picks I can't get into those paracentric keyways. I think you are just teasing me (again) but only challenge locks make it into whipped videos. I have a PILE of commercial locks in my naughty bucket - not able to pick any of them either.
I also guess that the car he did this in is his locksmith van/transporter with a complete workshop in the back to make and modify locks on site. Scandinavian tradition is to charge a fee for bringing the van whenever called to a customer site, effectively as a camouflaged starting fee for every job regardless of results.
I know, I know... I saw it sitting proudly on top of the lock after I processed the video and published it. Amazing how you miss them with your eyes, but they show up so well in HD!
Not a valid lock: wrong key, can't use a follower, misc "junk" driver pins. What's the point making a lock that can only be picked open? I'm Adam, but I'm not "Adam Sweden" who built this crappy lock.
Poor Bill has to deal with our disasters... please send healthy locks!
InsaneFirebat we need a lock doctor in the lock lab.
The new type of challenge lock, difficult to pick. A nightmare to gut. Bill at 10:54 I was shouting use a shim but you apparently didn't hear me so I shouted louder.
Not sure what to say about that lock, but you did pick it open. Key did not work, Not valid in my opinion..
"The point is, it didn't whip me, right?" BINGO! Way to go, Bill.
Bottom of the key way tension: too easy
Top of the key way tension: to hard
Middle of the key way tension: Just Right
Gutting wise I don't think you can be blamed for this one, I think it was doomed from the start. Great video Bill, as always!!
You can still buy those Abloy locks. Look for PL3020. Some $35 a piece.
That poor lock 😂Nice job picking, no surprise there 👍
My guess is that the ball bearing was suppose to act as a trap if you had picked it clockwise.
Would have been good to put the key into the extracted core to see if the pins aligned flush - because the key didn’t work makes me curious

You The MAN!!!!
Thank you! I still have one of your locks in the queue. I can hear it laughing at me from here...
I still use that type abloy lock on my basement storage cage
.
Would have love to see how the key pins matched up to the key.
Am I the only one who yelled "shim Bill shim!" When he started looking for followers? Lol
11:36 i saw that coming bill i wish i could have warned you..
Don't you just love those late night/early morning battles? You put a whoopin on that stubborn little guy. Maybe I should order a couple .010 picks JIC.
Bill, I came for the picking, but I'm beginning to think the real entertainment is in the ... GUTTINGS! You DA MAN.
Thank you Sir! Do you like watching the accidents in NASCAR too? That's how some of my guttings turn out...😋
Bosnianbill . . ...ha ha ha 🤣😂😅😆🚔🏁 I like Nascar crashes - but not accident report paperwork !!
Great job! Bill, I used my Multipick Set for the first time yesterday, long story short, the wife locked me inside the house(or so I thought!) Hi Bill. Just to let you know I enjoy your videos you post. But I think that, some people thought that you were going to rip out the core at 8:57
Really wished you still did challenge locks. I enjoyed the content
in all fairness, one of the worst made challenge locks ever.
So funny with the music in the background. Lol.
I was kinda wanting to see ya put the key pins in with the key and see if they were even close to lining up.
Completely slipped my mind until after I ended the video, sorry. It was getting a bit long and I was anxious to end it in a reasonable time.
Evidently there are also trolls in Sweden...
Just another day in the lock lab with bill. :p
Why don't you put the tension tool at the bottom ?
I think the extra hole was to somehow get pin 3 stuck and not allow it to rotate more, a trap of sorts. Also Assa i easiest gutted by rotating the core 180º and slide the drivers out one at a time through the keyway. Unless someone drills something there....
Your EOD patience really paid off on this one lol excellent pickin' Bill

Hey Mr.Bill what's up with that lil flash at 15:29?? Hmmmmm....
My digital camera splits videos at 5Gb, or about 15 minutes or so. I have to splice them together during editing. It looks like I didn't get all of the black overlay frames out - one or two slipped through.

What -normal- kind of person brazes padlocks whilst sitting in his car?
Ah,yes; of course! A locksmith. 😏
I would like to see what the heck that ball bearing was doing too. good video
Check the description. It wasn't a ball bearing, just a perfectly round blob of brass from the brazing job.
Hey Bill!

Michael Berthelsen I think he talk about the learnlockpicking website. With the ultimate lock picking practice lock 7-5 Pinner
Victor Osejo No, he once specifically mentioned a guy making them himself, selling on ebay. Learnlockpicking is mentioned on the website.
I believe his name was Texas Jim. I bought the kit you mentioned on Ebay. HTH.
I think you're talking about another LockSporter named Jimu57. He sold padlocks and other LockSport stuff on eBay and currently has a listing for assa pins. Mark England Texas Jim mostly makes challenge locks, I think...
Have tons of those at my workplace just hanging around doing nothing. There is a few unlocked but no keys to them. Are they really nice?
I suspect that ball-bearing was welded in through that huge hole in the side... Weird stuff, and don't quite see how it would help...
Don, had I known that you appreciate high quality locks like this one I would have sent my favorite re-pinned master lock #3. Yeah, it was caught in a fire and doused with urine, but still occasionally works. All I need is your address buddy. Holding my breath...

Bosnianbill Damn... no wonder it wasn't working properly...!😮
Hey Bill, do you mind doing a video about the Master lock 975 vulnerabilities?
Thanks Seth, I just ordered one based on your request. When it arrives, we'll take a look.
LMAO Adam done a job on you! No Key? No Problem! Let me get my Plasma cutter out of the car
It's a win win for you tho you got it opened and some very nice locks for your efforts, well done.
Lol, got trolled by Adam Sweden there, Bill
Picking was easier picked than disassembled.
Yeah I totally losted my train of thought....
...
There
hahaha, other than the keyway, the top and the bottom, and.... this welding...... it's a standard lock.
Well, you should SEE some of the challenge locks that show up in the LockLab. My favorite was the one that was epoxied together into a glob. No key. Core seized up. Covered in rust & corrosion. The guy wanted me to pick it, re-pin it, and make him a key before returning it...
Gonna get me an Anchor with an Assa core to rival my old Abloy 350
Great job bob as usual
Where is this type of lock style popular? I mean I guess it came from Sweden that maybe my first clue.
Used widely in Northern Europe and very popular. I would expect that these, as well as the standard Euro cylinders, will slowly but surely become a universal standard. Yes, even in the metric-resistant U.S. 😋

When challenge-locks get dremeld out. to prevent using top tension. They should be Not Valid C L`s. (Anyone agree?)
You got trolled Bill lol!
Shims bill, Shims...
I TRIED Zach, but they kept getting stuck on that pin as you saw, so I had to chance it.
When’s the whooped vid coming on those locks we sent you ?
Ha! I can't tell you how many hours I've spend on those two commercial locks! Even with 0.010" picks I can't get into those paracentric keyways. Understood 🏆 will leave you alone now then 😂 your still one of the top pickers tho 🏆
Picking it was the easy part...
The core is stuck Nikki
You can tell whoever made that lock is it pro you can't even pick that lock with the key

The lock butcher of sweden strikes lol
yo bill nice work on a wiked lock cool as allways thanks man cool moves thanks stiglocks..r
Thank you, Sir.
@@bosnianbill The question is, 'Could STIG..LOCKS..R be the mysterious prankster, Adam, Sweden?'
More like FrankenSweden!
THAT's what I should have called it! Dang.
Swedenstein.
Adam Sweden Sweden Adam
What is it you hate about trying shims first? lol.
This lock was a challenge for the wrong reasons.
Stay flexible and adapt. Lesson learned.👍😀
Why in the hell don't you just use a socket
Cathair.
I know, I know... I saw it sitting proudly on top of the lock after I processed the video and published it. Amazing how you miss them with your eyes, but they show up so well in HD!
Key didn't work, not valid
I don't think Bill likes shims...
1 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
