    I cut the pins using an exacto knife with a wood block as a tool rest.

      Sounds easier just to give the key a few rasps for final fit. I wonder if impressioning could help with that? th-cam.com/video/p0euhqTq_9o/w-d-xo.html

    Bill, an excellent way to make very fine & very sharp cuts in brass pins, is by using a 32tpi "unbreakable" hacksaw blade. Flatten out the kerf & sharpen like a knife on the cutting edge. The sharper/narrower the teeth, the finer the cuts in the pins will be.

    Been subbed for nearly 2 years, and this is easily the crunchiest sounding lock I've ever seen you pick Bill

    Another brilliant pick.... Another School day for me. Just got back working, after 2 years of been made redundant. Can't wait to get new pick set. As usual I see your videos, religiously. Keep the awesome work

    Nothing but R-E-S-P-E-C-T from this end! What would we do without you? Nasty pins. Had those springs syncing with the alien tech. Almost too well done Mister 4X4! Well done, BosnianBill!!

    Nice picking, and feeling around. Also some Interesting work; with those crazy sharp, and spiraled workings. My heart always flutters a bit when I get a lock that's trying to eat a pick. The urge to continue v.s. mauling/breaking a pick. -- No, the lock must yield, and we must open it no matter the cost, send in more troops!

      I USED to feel that way, but with over a dozen broken picks caused by super springs, I'm starting to feel different...It gets expensive pretty quickly.

    I did something today I can thank you for. I found a lock (yes shitty chinese lock) and picked it because... BECAUSE. It felt freaking wonderful.
    These are machines we are dealing with and like my dad told me when he taught me how to shoot "every machine can fail. so don't trust them". You're more of a Godsend than I believe you will ever realize. Don't get all Glenn Beck on us, but for real. Thanks.

      J.G Stoner Glen Beck...?

    • @larrybe2900
      @larrybe2900 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      What would it take for a company like Masterlock to incorporate just one safety pin? One must wonder why the minimum is satisfactory today? So they have to charge a nickel more, they already have the market but just might lose it if they don't wise up.

    • @MrJgstoner
      @MrJgstoner 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Forgive me if I offend. But, yes. Glenn beck had a "Christ" complex that is empirically provable after the election of Donald. This story can go on and on do you want me to continue ?

      @MrJgstoner 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      If you make money selling garbage. Keep selling garbage. It's insultingly simple but true. It is up to US to make their products better. ALL of the other lockmakers listen, but not masterlock.
      It's time we pull a Soylo: A Soylo Story on them.

    Tough lock but you got it done. Nice job. You know by now, if your scared to bend a pick, you may never open a lock.

    • @bosnianbill
      @bosnianbill  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Not scared, just TIRED of breaking picks. A couple of the picks I use can't be bought as singles, I have to buy the entire kit to replace the broken one.

  • @jezzamarkham5285
    @jezzamarkham5285 6 ปีที่แล้ว

    Nice picking Bill. That second chamber pin looked like it had a left hand thread on it !!??😯 If you have the right tools then any amount of miniaturization is possible! Can you go too fine to hinder the picker?? Is there a perfect point where coarser is better than finer?) 👍

    • @bosnianbill
      @bosnianbill  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The thing that throws off a lock picker is variation in feel. I think varying the width and frequency of any serrations and spools would be most effective.

    A new pick per pin that uses a strong spring is now required to be sent in along with each challenge lock that is sent to Bosnianbill. :-)

    @perjohanhansen9026 6 ปีที่แล้ว

    hello bosnianbill i think you are doing a good job with and piking lock but i think it will be a bit easy when you can put the lock in a fork and sit in a chair i think you should resist the lock in a door and get it normal when you have to stand in front of a door and piking

    Im not a huge fan of sparrows plastic coating on your pick there. I buy em plain and use plasti dip you can buy it at home depot etc.... Just dip the handle and stab the pick end into a piece of foam til its dry. Repeat until its as thick as you like. I just like one dip. Its enough to be easy on the fingers but doesnt dampen feedback a whole lot.

    Hey Bill, Awesome content as usual. I wondered if you had ever considered a contact microphone to possibly provide better sound from inside the lock... almost like we can hear what you feel. Check it out: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Contact_microphone

    • @bosnianbill
      @bosnianbill  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes, but that would add to production complexity a LOT. Synching two tracks of audio is already hard enough.

  • @codycall6513
    @codycall6513 6 ปีที่แล้ว

    Ok. So what’s it do when a pin hole is threaded? Does it mean the pins edges grab the threads making it hard to pick? Tried looking it up but could t find anything.

    Where to get one??

    • @bosnianbill

      Check the description for the link. Mine is a panavise model 350 but they offer several options.

    • @AveragePicker
      @AveragePicker 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      If you need one mostly for locks or light work (Like soldering), you can piece together a panavise on amazon usually for about $40-$45. I use the low profile base and jr head. Works well for locks.

      I'm guessing that's why bill doesn't use his Peterson picks anymore...

    • @bosnianbill

      Yeah, afraid so. Broken picks = no fun, therefore super springs = no fun. I find myself avoiding them because the pick bill has been climbing.
