Sounds easier just to give the key a few rasps for final fit. I wonder if impressioning could help with that? th-cam.com/video/p0euhqTq_9o/w-d-xo.html Beautiful pins!
Another brilliant pick.... Another School day for me. Just got back working, after 2 years of been made redundant. Can't wait to get new pick set. As usual I see your videos, religiously. Keep the awesome work
Bill, an excellent way to make very fine & very sharp cuts in brass pins, is by using a 32tpi "unbreakable" hacksaw blade. Flatten out the kerf & sharpen like a knife on the cutting edge. The sharper/narrower the teeth, the finer the cuts in the pins will be.
Nothing but R-E-S-P-E-C-T from this end! What would we do without you? Nasty pins. Had those springs syncing with the alien tech. Almost too well done Mister 4X4! Well done, BosnianBill!!
Nice picking, and feeling around. Also some Interesting work; with those crazy sharp, and spiraled workings. My heart always flutters a bit when I get a lock that's trying to eat a pick. The urge to continue v.s. mauling/breaking a pick. -- No, the lock must yield, and we must open it no matter the cost, send in more troops!
I USED to feel that way, but with over a dozen broken picks caused by super springs, I'm starting to feel different...It gets expensive pretty quickly.
Excellent stuff silent bob, lots of hard work went into those serrations! Nice job picking bill, glad you took care of that obnoxious Siri! Hope the little know-it-all enjoys her dirt nap!
Ok. So what’s it do when a pin hole is threaded? Does it mean the pins edges grab the threads making it hard to pick? Tried looking it up but could t find anything.
Nice picking Bill. That second chamber pin looked like it had a left hand thread on it !!??😯 If you have the right tools then any amount of miniaturization is possible! Can you go too fine to hinder the picker?? Is there a perfect point where coarser is better than finer?) 👍
The thing that throws off a lock picker is variation in feel. I think varying the width and frequency of any serrations and spools would be most effective.
I did something today I can thank you for. I found a lock (yes shitty chinese lock) and picked it because... BECAUSE. It felt freaking wonderful. These are machines we are dealing with and like my dad told me when he taught me how to shoot "every machine can fail. so don't trust them". You're more of a Godsend than I believe you will ever realize. Don't get all Glenn Beck on us, but for real. Thanks.
What would it take for a company like Masterlock to incorporate just one safety pin? One must wonder why the minimum is satisfactory today? So they have to charge a nickel more, they already have the market but just might lose it if they don't wise up.
Forgive me if I offend. But, yes. Glenn beck had a "Christ" complex that is empirically provable after the election of Donald. This story can go on and on do you want me to continue ? PRESS : F to flagellate
If you make money selling garbage. Keep selling garbage. It's insultingly simple but true. It is up to US to make their products better. ALL of the other lockmakers listen, but not masterlock. It's time we pull a Soylo: A Soylo Story on them. Hard to ignore a 80million dollar hole in your net
Not scared, just TIRED of breaking picks. A couple of the picks I use can't be bought as singles, I have to buy the entire kit to replace the broken one.
hello bosnianbill i think you are doing a good job with and piking lock but i think it will be a bit easy when you can put the lock in a fork and sit in a chair i think you should resist the lock in a door and get it normal when you have to stand in front of a door and piking
If you need one mostly for locks or light work (Like soldering), you can piece together a panavise on amazon usually for about $40-$45. I use the low profile base and jr head. Works well for locks.
I have a vice most curious about the vice in the vids :) A tabletop suctioncup vice is what i got not exactly this but one just like it i.ebayimg.com/00/s/MTYwMFgxNjAw/z/P-sAAOSwYaFWdQ1j/$_57.JPG?set_id=880000500F
Im not a huge fan of sparrows plastic coating on your pick there. I buy em plain and use plasti dip you can buy it at home depot etc.... Just dip the handle and stab the pick end into a piece of foam til its dry. Repeat until its as thick as you like. I just like one dip. Its enough to be easy on the fingers but doesnt dampen feedback a whole lot.
Hey Bill, Awesome content as usual. I wondered if you had ever considered a contact microphone to possibly provide better sound from inside the lock... almost like we can hear what you feel. Check it out: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Contact_microphone
I cut the pins using an exacto knife with a wood block as a tool rest.

Beautiful pins!
Nice job, you made Bill ... work for it.
Any lock that keeps Bill out for more than 3 minutes deserves creditation. Well Done.
Beautiful work silentbob! 🍻🤙🏽
Been subbed for nearly 2 years, and this is easily the crunchiest sounding lock I've ever seen you pick Bill

"Well both of my friends, anyway" hahaha
Great pickin', Bill. Thanjs for sharing and keep up the good work.
Silent Bob needs to do a video on how he made those pins.
As always great picking very informative great technique always a pleasure to watch you.
Thank you!
This lock was extra crispy lol great pickin'Bill
Hey Bill, love and support from Bosnia 🇧🇦🇧🇦
Excellent stuff silent bob, lots of hard work went into those serrations! Nice job picking bill, glad you took care of that obnoxious Siri! Hope the little know-it-all enjoys her dirt nap!
I may have to dig her up this week. I forgot that she has my calendar and appointments...
Does anyone know, why there is a long cut in the core through the holes for the keypins?
Nice pins, very fine cuts-maybe a jeweler's saw? I'd like to know myself. Great pick and very interesting video. Thanks Bill 👍
Nice job 4x4 those pins sure sound tough. Captain crunch would approve
I doubt i would have ever got that open. Looked really crunchy.
That mic is really picking up the clicks. Must be a good one. Great job picking and some good pinning from Bob.
It is a Blue Yeti Pro and it is on a boom directly above the lock.

Yes. th-cam.com/video/8_rvEg3snSs/w-d-xo.html
9:41 I went arse up backwards off my chair! 🤣
Great pick!!! That was a device lock, well thought out. Looks like it took as long to mummy the key as it did to make the lock. Lol
Nice work. That was close SilentBob4x4.

I bow to your superior knowledge. Thanks for reading and answering my comment.
Just about saw your face in the reflection of the lock!

J.G Stoner Glen Beck...?

Thank you, Sir. I'll do my best to keep the Glenn Beck instincts in check. 😀👍
You never cease to amaze me.
Tough lock but you got it done. Nice job. You know by now, if your scared to bend a pick, you may never open a lock.
Not scared, just TIRED of breaking picks. A couple of the picks I use can't be bought as singles, I have to buy the entire kit to replace the broken one.

Bill, didn't imagine you with so much hair. 😉
Good Job Bob... You also Bill.....Another good day at the office
I wonder if bill upgrades his personal home locks.
Nice job by 4x4. It had you going for a while. Very fine serrations but you got it, even with your injured holy arm! 😉🍺✌
I saw the red in the thumbnail and thought it was the progress bar, I almost skipped it.
I thought he said he was picking it counter clockwise?
I got only one Q and thats about your vice :)
Where to get one??
Check the description for the link. Mine is a panavise model 350 but they offer several options.
If you need one mostly for locks or light work (Like soldering), you can piece together a panavise on amazon usually for about $40-$45. I use the low profile base and jr head. Works well for locks.

Probably just cut on a lathe. Thus you can control frequency and it be cut in a helix
A new pick per pin that uses a strong spring is now required to be sent in along with each challenge lock that is sent to Bosnianbill. :-)

Do you edit yourself?
Roland Bracamontes yes he does. He done a video on it with a shop tour if I remember correctly.😉✌

Beautiful pin work, really nice. Mr. Bill awesome picking
Thanks, Thumper!
great job
Truck yeah!!!!

Yes, but that would add to production complexity a LOT. Synching two tracks of audio is already hard enough.
Great job, 4x4...!
nice pins
Love, love, love jbweld
So, restrictive keyways+ tough springs= broken picks.
Copy copy
William Schrimsher How about double wound together tough springs? Probably get a pile of broken picks and a large bill from Bosnian Bill. :D
I'm guessing that's why bill doesn't use his Peterson picks anymore...
Yeah, afraid so. Broken picks = no fun, therefore super springs = no fun. I find myself avoiding them because the pick bill has been climbing.
Both = Double the security on your house but then you'll be trying extract broken picks from your locks! 😅
great job
