    If you look closely there are small splash guard type covers just in front of a both front tires and they come done several inches. And they are visible in the video when you are turning right at the stop sign. That may be scrapping the ground as a warning to let you know that you may not have enough ground clearance.

      This is all about personal taste, but nothing more. If he really thinks Mercedes interiors didn't look good 10 years ago, he really must have very bad memory. Mercedes was certainly behind Audi, but not too far.
      And I don't understand the fact, why these people still count a Tesla Model 3 as a "competitor" for cars like BMW 3 Series, Mercedes-Benz C-Class or Audi A4. These cars have a tremendous build quality, which is something, Tesla can only dream of.
      Tesla "build quality" is the most shittiest in the whole industry and absolutely nothing has changed with Teslas bad build quality record.
      It's a shame, how these EVs from a rookie are still taken as "competitors" to these German premium brands.
      Tesla build quality and materials have absolutely nothing to do with premium, period!
      Actually theTesla Model 3 even can't keep up with BMW 1 Series-, Mercedes-Benz A-Class- and Audi A3 models build quality!
      Therefore it's quite boring to hear these absolutely dumb and naive questions like "can Mercedes-Benz C-Class keep up with Tesla Model 3 blah blah blah"...
      Of course it can, because it's much better!
      All the technology in the new C-Class is fantastic. It has a lot of features the Model 3 doesn't have. It's a true premium midsize sedan with an amount of driving comfort a Tesla Model can only dream of. As an EV the Model 3 actually isn't even quiet inside. Therefore the new Mercedes-Benz C-Class is a much better long distance cruiser too.
      Just watch the C-Class interior at night and you will even realize with your eyes the big difference in design quality between these two cars.

    W206 has cut corners when it comes to interior quality, while putting resources to infotainment technologies. I still consider W204 as the all-time high of C-Class, which best combined Mercedes class and luxury, with interior quality that had been upped significantly from the cheaply made W203. It was also the one that has changed my mind, on Mercedes's driving experience. If I am in the market for the C-Class, I would definitely go for any W205 C63 with that awesome AMG V8. If I can still find any.

I change temp, fan speed, radio stations and volume too often for screen/touch sensitive buttons. In the US, this build is about $52k when it's equipped the way you'd probably want it. Along with its excellent competitors, this category is priced appropriately. All these cars offer various advantages and interesting designs in and out. The only car not worth looking into is the Tesla Model 3. I just priced on during this video, checking all the boxes (white interior $1,600 bucks more, Red or even Black paint (which they’ve proven to not do well) can cost up to$3,200 extra!). Final price, before financing and taxes…. $100,690 Canadian dollars! That is almost the price of TWO of the competitors cars. I’d lean on that as a better option. His and hers. Or …. One of the under $50,000 cars and an additional $50,000 for petrol and holidays! I do like the Mercedes-Benz… but is it still available as an Estate in Canada (like the previous generation)? Thats the sweet spot for them, as there is no real competition and it is not available in Americaland. Thanks for the classy video.

    The Tesla question confuses me. I don't see where Tesla is competitive with any of the compact premium sedans like Mercedes, Audi, BMW, Acura, Lexus, Volvo, any of them. I'm not taken by the tech as cars are mechanical devices that have tech, not tech that are mechanical devices. I don't need the over-performance of Model 3s. But in terms of build quality, solidity, quietness, ride comfort, I don't think the Model 3 measures up to any of them. It doesn't feel particularly premium to me and I rented one and have been in a few of them.
    Anyway, this Mercedes is a mini-S class. I'm not in love with the tablets but that's the current aesthetic many cars are going in. I like a firmish European sedan so I might not love it if it feels very soft.

    • @baronvonjo1929
      @baronvonjo1929 ปีที่แล้ว

      I think it's because the Tesla name has a luxury image now. If you can afford one your rich. And their luxury is definitely all the tech. And I would say they scored on that. You can see how all the traditional automakers are chasing Tesla in regards to interior features and tech.
      Luxury use to be all about comfort, quality and a few bells and whistles.
      Now it's all about lowering build quality and increasing the amount of technology and bells and whistles.
      You may disagree but the Model 3 is in the top of its segment and people who had the money to buy a 3 series or c class went to Tesla Model 3.
      It is what the average person thinks.

    Thanks for another great episode! Here is a little rant about Mercedes' terrible build quality. We owned total 3 Mercedes ( 2015 C400, 2017 C43, and 2017 GLA45) in the past, they all have annoying rattling noise coming from either center dashboard, behind cluster gague, sunroof and interior trims. We are so disappointed about Mercedes's build quality. They are suppose to suppose to be the benchmark in the segment but honestly, my wife's 2019 Mazda 3 hatchback has none of these noise inside of the cabin and it costs less than 1/2 of the cheapest Mercedes we owned...

    • @sammyt3514
      @sammyt3514 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Mercedes quality has certainly gone by the wayside; I grew up in a Mercedes family, we owned a 1978 W123 then a 1991 W124 and they were both absolute tanks that never had a single rattle or anything wrong go with them despite the fact we owned each for 12 years. Those days are long gone for Mercedes, unfortunately.

      Like you, we also had a 2017 AMG C43. The interior started rattling and squeaking one month into ownership, not to mention the various mechanical and electrical issues it experienced during the first two years. We couldn't have been more excited for the lease to end, good riddance.

      I have been hearing for decades how most German cars end up getting terrible rattles early on, unlike much less expensive Japanese cars. This doesn't seem like anything new for Mercedes.

    Lots of front end dive on that car. Looks like there is a small black plastic lip at the back of the front spoiler in front of the wheels that is scraping on the ground. I was wondering how many minutes into the review I would hear the term baby S Class. I’m a former C Class owner but this one even with an improved interior is a bit meh for me.

    After 10 years driving a C Class, I took delivery a GLC instead for the same reason, to avoid the front under bumper scratching on speed bump. The interior build quality rattles a bit on vibration but ok (compared to a solid previous C Class). Fuel is about the same at 9.9L/100km. In Indonesia, the new C300 only comes in RWD with AMG styling (bumper, side skirt, diamond front grill), a bit stiff sport suspension, a flat-bottom steering wheel but with new set of 19 inch wheels (still five-spoke with aero design around the lips) similar to the new E-Class.

    Nice review.
    There was a wonderful time in MB’s history where they wouldn’t lower their standards to manufacture a car such as this.
    The decline started with the 190e in the 1980s and it really took a hit with the 1995 E Class. Things have gotten better , but it’s nothing like when the engineers were running the show.

      The 190E had a few bad years at first, but by the end of it's run it was just as solid and capable as any other Benz. The build was solid once they got past 1983-1985. The change started with the W210 and then went off the cliff with the first generation ML. 1996-2006 are the years to stay away from any Benz, those model years.
