Rock Island makes a good, dependable & reasonable priced 1911. I have one and put 17k 9mm rounds through it & it still runs great.

I have the same pistol but in 45 acp, I got it several years ago on sale for $399. Mine doesn't have the full length dust cover but everything else is the same.

Also with the extended magazine well, you could probably just take the grips off and make the cuts in the grips for the mag well hooks higher and it should hopefully take care of it, they probably just didn't cut them high enough to get the extension to fit flush. Just an educated guess though.

I also have the 4.25 version which I really love I use 135 Gr underwood in it if you can get your hands on the 4.25 model I highly recommend it

Yeah RIA is Armscor, which is from the Philippines. These pistols are the same ones the filipinos use there domestically. So they are built with love and pride. That's why they're so good. It's not just some cheapo company that decided to make 1911s
