    Hello, thanks for the videos, help a lot, it would be also great to have videos related to the CLI in the Access Points.
    For example, topics related to issues for:
    1- SONOS Speakers not connecting
    2- How to get access to the CLI
    3- Issues with password and username
    4- Heartbeat Loss in the APs
    5- Phone Issues not connecting to the SSID
    6- Chromebooks and other troubleshooting.
    The reason to ask this is that I receive this kind of case or tickets and sometimes a video would be great to understand better how to help clients from all over the world, specially in the use of the CLI.

    • @thelemonenergy609
      @thelemonenergy609 4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      The sonos speakers try to find each other via multicast. The AP handles multicast low prioritized and that causes the sonos devices to time out. You can disable it on the APs CLI directly with the following commands:
      set qos eth0 igmp disable
      set qos eth0 classification disable
      you can connect via ssh with putty for example. the login credentials are either the ones of the controller, the zone that specific ap is in or the credentials you gave it - all depending on the controller type. you have to repeat that commands after every firmware update.

    Hello, we have an aparthotel with four houses (mansions) connected to each other with extremely thick wals and windows in Brussels Belgium, which contains about 30 apartments. We already tried to have a stable wifi network with a variety of acces points like tplink and ubiquity amplify but its still not stable an it gets interrupted very frequently. We are now looking to change the hole system and replacing everything with a ruckus setup! Which model of Ruckus AP do you guys suggest? Keep in mind we don’t want to pay tons of money…

    • @dennadadang

      Is there any utp connection in every single room? You can use Ruckus H320 in each room because if you said extremely thick.

      In the base switch configuration, you can connect the ISP device to any port on the switch. By default all ports are in the same VLAN, so they all "talk" to each other.

      Standard Ethernet cable will work. Specifically, CAT5e, CAT6, CAT7. Just make sure to avoid CAT5 (without the e) as this cable is too old to support POE. It lacks pairs for it.

    • @RUCKUSEducation
      @RUCKUSEducation  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      The ethernet connection is also the power, which I'm assuming you are referring to? If you want to have it wireless only with no wired connection, that would require a power adapter.
      There are some distinct disadvantages to doing that - head over to the forums and let's discuss further.

    For the life of me I can't get these things to be stable. I have 2 AP's on the switch. both are up and running, my connection is 400 mb/s and I'm only getting 90 and online gaming shows I have packet loss up the wazoo. After much frustration I hooked up my old Apple router and it pipes down 400 mb/s no problem no matter how many clients I have on it. Any ideas? When I run a speed test I'm connected to the 5ghz channel as well so it should have no problem, I'll literally stand 3 feet away from the AP so distance isn't an issue either.

    If my house already has two R510 APs can I add a R550 or R650 to get WiFi 6 in our main living area? Are there any downsides to doing this? I would prefer to not upgrade the AP in the upstairs loft if I don’t have to. Should I avoid having an R510 and R550 on the same level? Thanks!

    • @RUCKUSEducation
      @RUCKUSEducation  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes you can add a WiFi-6 capable device to take advantage of those features. Remember however, the devices in your home also need to be WiFi-6 capable. With regard to placement on the same level, power levels can be tuned (or even set to auto) and specific radio chains can be disabled (if necessary). You would want to make sure each device uses it's own channel and that there is proper coverage overlap so that devices can roam seamlessly.

    Where does the ISP routers RJ45 connect to on the ICX 7150 to provide the internet access?

    • @bbrendon
      @bbrendon 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      This video is a bit bizarre as they aren't considered "common" in a smart home like the presenter states. In business deployments, a 3rd device would be the internet gateway. I've deployed a lot of ICX hardware and I'm not sure how to use the 7150 as an internet gateway, though we do plug ISP routers into them as they state but that is because it's VLAN'ed.
