Hi, Terry. We recently bought a home that has two Ruckus wireless access points, which are connected to our modem. I can get to their IP address, but I don't know the login and password. I also tried to find the Configure-Me SSID, but I don't see it on the list of available wifi networks. How do I get to their configuration? I want to make sure they are both working. Thanks. - Jeremy
My Ruckus ZoneFlex 7372 shows a solid green light over all but the AIR indicator. Is this normal or is this cause for concern? Not sure if it was that way originally or not.

if it is asking for a password on configure.me then it is not running Unleashed firmware. It is on standalone code most likely. Use the AP serial number as the password.
The r710 i just purchased requires a passcode to login to configure-me . I tried serial number but won't connect. I tried connecting directly to update the firmware to unleashed. IMPOSSIBLE to connect. Tried resetting more that 20 times. Did the direct connect by changing my dhcp param
You can connect via SSH or web browser to 192.168.0.1 if you want to change the IP of your pc to something like 192.168.0.2 or find the IP the AP got from DHCP and connect that way.

Terry Henry Ok the connection to the device directly from the computer is in the non Poe port of the 710 , the Poe port has to be plugged into switch to get power. I have no ac adapter. It’s not connecting after changing the ip
Then either you already have a configuration or it is not running Unleashed firmware. You can factory reset by holding down the reset button for about 8 seconds until the power light turns red. When it boot you should see the configure.me ssid. You could also find the IP address of the Unleashed AP (look on your router/dhcp server for the IP matching its MAC address) and with a deivce connecged to the network go to that IP with you web browser like 192.168.1.10
@@andreyhohlov6423 Are you sure your AP is running Unleashed firmware? There is no password for the configure.me ssid with Unleashed. Most likely you are running solo code. Find the IP of your AP from your DHCP server and connect on the wired network with a browser. Default username super password sp-admin for non-unleashed firmware.

yes, under Access Points, highlight and edit the AP you want to set the channel on, then select the 2.4 or 5ghz radio and you will see Channel in the options.
Can I add a new unleashed AP to an existing unleashed network without worrying about having older end of life AP's as a master? Do I need to be concerned with firmware versions to get them to play nicely together in a non-mesh setup?
It doesn't matter who the master is BUT some older APs can't run firmware beyond 200.7. You may run into trouble if you are trying to add something like an R500 and R550 together in the same network. All APs in your unleashed network must run the same version in a mesh or not.
Hi there, Looks great but I'm running into issues during installation (the AP is new). The AP appears to have the S/N as password, which I enter and then connect. I then can't reach unleashed.ruckuswireless . The password on the Configure Me SSID seems to suggest the firmware is not unleashed, so I use the DHCP assigned IP. My connection is then denied 😞. I tried factory reset already but it keeps going back to the above situation. What gives and how can I get my AP set up? Thanks
Managed to find a solution, thanks to having another AP that didn't have the issue. I connected my PC to my switch via ethernet and connected the two APs, then ran angry IP scanner to find the ipv4 addresses on the network. After that, I used SSH to connect to the APs IPv4 addresses one by one, which turned out to be in stand-alone mode rather than unleashed mode - this could've been obvious from the slow blinking "CTL" light. I finally updated the firmware using the command line and a TFTP server with the correct firmware file .bl7 downloaded from the Ruckus website. I'm not well versed when it comes to networking so this was quite a wild goose chase, but I'm happy it all worked out. B- for user friendliness because of the installation experience.
Hi Terry. Recently upgraded to Centurylink Gig (940mbps) speed and just was wondering why my wired connection to my Roku in the living room is showing download speed of only 93mbps. When I switch to wireless, its 200ish. I have my Roku wired with a CAT5e to the wall port, and then in the basement, I have that port directly wired to the router via it's #2 ethernet port. I have a new Lennar house (2021) so they installed ICX 7150-c12p in the basement. I logged into the admin for the switch and noticed under the switches drop down, under ports, it shows port 2 link status as having "connected with warning" and is colored amber. Strange, because ports 2 and 4 are my R320 WAP ceiling mounted mesh routers. Both of them seem to be working fine, sending 500mbps speeds on both levels of my house. What does this mean? Do I need to do something, like take an action? Ignore it? How come my speed is low to the ethernet port connected to my Roku? On the admin side of the actual C4000xg router, it shows ethernet port 1 as being 1000mpbs, and ports 2-4 as being 100mbps and my WAN/LAN port as being disconnected, which I know it's not because there's literally a CAT5e running to it from the ONT box Centurylink installed. Just wierd stuff I'm trying to get answers/help on. Thanks
Probably stuck in boot up or maybe does not have enough power. If it was working and stopped then I suggest you get it replaced under warranty through Ruckus support. Before that you could try a factory reset by holding down the reset button for 8 seconds but I doubt it will solve the problem.
@@wareamol If you are the original owner then it has a limited lifetime, return to factory warranty. It is under warranty for 5 year after end of sale which has not happened yet.
Good afternoon Mr. Henry, I hope all is well. 1st of all, thank you for all the help you are giving. So initially setup the Unleashed software for my ICX 7150 C12P with our own wifi name. I couldn't get to the internet and noticed that both our WiFi name AND the configure me wifi were showing. I factory reset and now config me doesn't show but our home wifi name does. No matter how many times I reset I only see the wifi that I setup and not the configure me ssid. I also tried logging on into the unleashed app but I couldn't get on and the password reset doesn't work. Any help would be appreciated. What I am trying to do is go from internet to modem to switch and then to AP. Many thanks!!!!!

@@JustAddingMy2Cents its not clear what problem you are having. Can you connect to the wifi network? If yes, do you get an ip address from the router? Assuming you have not done some odd programming somewhere, the switch will just pass traffic through to the APs and the APs will just pass your traffic from the PC. If you cant get on the wifi then yes unplug the APs one at a time and factory reset. Then configure Unleashed again. If you can get on your ssid then it is unlikely the AP is issue unless you have put it in gateway mode or something weird.

I didn't the 1st time, but I did try the 2nd time. Shouldn't factory reset fix that? Also - No, unfortunately, I can't access the internet. @@JustAddingMy2Cents If the switch is connected to the router and you plug directly into the switch and can't get to the internet, you are wasting your time working on the wireless. You got to start at the router and work back to determine where the communication is breaking down. Next steps are to plug your laptop directly into the router and see if you get an IP address (ipconfig) and can get to the Internet. If not, reboot the router or call your provider. If yes, move laptop back to switch and check the connection between switch and router, then see if you get an IP address there. If no, maybe the switch has vlans setup, so factory reset the switch and try again. if yes, can you ping the switch? Can you ping the gateway? Can you ping something on the Internet try 1.1.1.1?
I purchased r710 today. When connected to the POE, I can not find any wifi network as the AIR, 2,4g and 5,5g are off. I tried the IP written on the back also, but no luck, The manual provided inside says otherwise. It's strange because when I called the supplier they are saying they can do it remotely but for a charge. Can anyone help here?
It will get a DHCP address from the wired network. Find that the IP assigned to its mac address on your DHCP server or router and hit that with a browser. Try a factory reset if it is not getting an IP by holding down the reset pin for 8 seconds or so until the power light flashes red. The AIR and radio lights will be off but the radio is still on for setup it just doesn't have an active user configured SSID. If the AP is running unleashed you will be able to connect to configure-me and hit unleashed.ruckuswireless.com with your browser. If not, connect to the IP through the wired network.
@@TerryHenry my network is of 10.30.x.x range, now i tried to search for the Ruckus using AdvanceIPScanner, there is nothing in the range 192.168.0.1-255, can you please suggest what can be the reason? Also, the AP has a sticker on the back mentioning UnleashedAP, but still I can not see any SSID I also tried resetting it.No Luck!
@@SalmanAli-il3op It will have a 10.30.x.x address from your local dhcp. The unleashed sticker only says it was Unleashed from the factory but looks like not anymore. It could have cloud, solo, ZD, or SZ code now. Again, check your router's dhcp leases table for the mac.
@@TerryHenryI was successful in configuring the first one and now again stuck on the second AP. It shows the SSID configure me but when I connect to it, i am not able to access the unleashed ruckuswireless page, not even 192.168.0.1.
found the IP using AIscan.. the second AP is not unleashed. That is why it was taking the IP from my current subnet. Can i use both together with same SSID and password?

You don't say what has happened. If the configuration is wiped out then yes you will need to go through the wizard to set up you SSID and passphrase. It only takes a few minutes.
if you don't see configureme then either your AP is not running Unleashed software or it is not factory default. try holding the reset button for 8 seconds and let go to factory reset. If you still don't see it then you will need to login and change the software to unleashed.

How to change it to the new SSID and assign a password. Initially I configured it for my demo setup but now want to give appropriate SSID and protect thru a password.
Go to WiFi Networks then choose Create. Build a new WLAN with type standard, authentication open, and Encryption method WPA2 and give it a password. After you hit ok, you will see the new SSID show up. Connect to it, then go back into WiFi Networks and delete the old demo one.

So in my house we’ve had the ruckus already set up, but randomly they all disconnected. Now everything says the Configure Me thing. Any ideas?
It probably means they can’t see each other across the switched network or have lost their configuration.

Contact the Lennar helpdesk. They should be able to assist with all that. Sorry but no way i can give you advice without seeing it.
Sometimes, the quality of CAT5e cable does not allow the switches to successfully negotiate Gigabit Ethernet. Try replacing the cable with CAT 6/6a?

You probably have 2 APs in your house and everytime you reset one AP, the other one becomes master and reprograms the first one.

It is a wireless access point or multiple and it is the wireless signal in your house.

franco101 sorry it’s been a year and I’ve moved on from this product. They may have made some changes but I’m no longer using it.
How to setup in 5 minutes. Without how to reset physically the device. Epic fail bruh. It doesn't just "connect". Returning this 2 pound paperweight.

If the SSID is asking for a password then you are not running Unleashed firmware on the AP. You can convert it pretty easily. Search my other videos and you will find a how to convert episode.
