I've got one of these (h500) in my apartment, but the ports are limited to 100mbs. I wanted to switch it out with a switch that supported 1000mbs considering our internet got upgraded. Is there any reason why I can only obtain internet while the cable from the wall is plugged into the h500? If I plug that cable directly into my PC/Network switch it won't give me access to the internet (Ethernet doesn't have a valid IP configuration error). My PC's Mac address is also on the whitelist to connect to the internet. Would I need a managed switch to generate an IP for my PC rather than plugging it directly into my PC/ unmanaged switch? Any help is appreciated if you end up seeing this message. I'm a bit new to networking, but curious to see if it's possible to fix. Thanks
There's probably interwall damage to the cabling or you're being limited. Port 1 of the the ethernet ports are Gig ports on the H500 and all are Gig ports on the H510. Also verify your cable to the H510 is Cat5e at minimum. Sounds like the building is wired and VLANned appropriately because you won't be able to just use the cable in the wall. VLANs are kind of like interstate traffic numbers, they mark the traffic and send it where it needs to go. Like interstates, multiple VLANs can run through a single port, like multiple interstates can run on a single piece of road. Most APs like the H510 require a Management VLAN be untagged on the port, so any random traffic is treated like the Access point itself. The guest traffic (your normal PCs) are tagged on a DIFFERENT Vlan. That vlan is used by the AP (H510) to move guest traffic over it's Wifi radios. I would contact the Network administrator to do some troubleshooting to the network. Even if you're whitelisted, they may have only whitelisted you for 100mb for your devices. The main question I would ask the network admin is if your access point is connecting to the switch at 1000mbps. Let them know you should be whitelisted for full speeds and have them check the configuration on the AP to ensure the Ethernet ports on the bottom are not only VLANned correctly, but are passing full traffic. If all the settings are correct, there's a chance you may have a bad piece of hardware...it happens, but we run these in hotels for Network streaming to TVs that absolutely require 1000mbps connections and in any normal situation, they're perfect.

Can this H510 act in a mesh network as a sort of repeater, picking up the existing broadcasting network, and then rebroadcast that WiFi signal back out, at the same time allowing you to connect wired devices to the LAN ports to provide network connectivity? Does it NEED the main feed POE plugged into the back of it, or can it just pick up existing WiFi and rebroadcast it out? Thanks!
WiFi with this alone doesn’t really reach the back room of my apt it’s really slow. Should I install a WiFi booster? Or what can I do so that the WiFi is better
There's a pinhole in the side or back of the unit depending on your model that you hold in for 10-30 seconds while unplugged and when you plug it in you release the hold. Alternatively you can keep it plugged in during the hold which will reboot the AP but it may not fully factory default. Best to do this with a paperclip, though I have achieved it with a Pilot precision V-5 pen.

Can you mount this flat on the wall, where the cable is not coming through the wall but coming from below?

There are power injectors (30W) that you can buy for them and yes they support mesh. You can def use the lan ports while in mesh.

These are older and end of life at this point. Swapping to a newer H550 or even upgrading to an R550 is recommended
