      I am going with Ruckus / Arris. It is pretty much sorted out now just waiting for the sale to be final. It has been a little bumpy the last few months but honestly this is good for Ruckus. There is some very cool things coming on the road map. Stay tuned....

    Hey Terry, do you have a way to do this on MAC Mojave? I want to do a straight USB-C to USB-C if possible. When I do the ls /dev/cu.* I do not see a USB serial.

      AFAIK it is impossible with USB-C to USB-C. I have tried everything on my Mac and it only works if you use a USB-A to USB-C cable from an adapter. I have both the original Apple and a knockoff adapter and both work great. I am told it is because of the chipset in the Mac. I had one person say they got it to work but many folks say no way. If you figure it out let me know.

      I'm able to see the Rockus in /dev/cu.usbserial-01A4BB6B connecting the usb-c from the Rockus to a dockstation that I use with my mac.
      Once connected, I did:
      $> screen /dev/cu.usbserial-01A4BB6B 9600
      And I'm in!.

    I only have a chromebook and an iPad pro. My switch has suffered the known issue when it re-booted after a power outage and now I have no way of updating the software and fix the device.

      I do it all the time with my MacBook Pro with only usb-c ports. You need to go usb-c to usb-a then a usb-a to c console cable. I use the Apple multiport adapter.

    new at the network stuff and have an ICX-7150 24p I'm trying to set up... Can I just connect to modem right outta the box and have that pass the network on through to the other devices on the network? Using a Macbook pro and not having much luck with the config thing...

    • @TerryHenry
      @TerryHenry  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      yes, by default it will just switch your traffic through. No need for any configuration.

    I have a r510 thats only giving me 100mbps and an amber connection light. Which ap would I need to get the speed up to my 500down?

    • @TerryHenry
      @TerryHenry  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The R510 is easily capable on 500Mbps with the right client and environment. The amber port light on the AP means it is running at 100Mbps not gig like it should be. Check your switch port.

    Does Ruckus access point have any way where we can connect external hard drive to make it as NAS

    • @TerryHenry
      @TerryHenry  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Most have a second ethernet port you could connect a NAS to but no you cannot just plug an external harddrive into the USB. It would require the software to support storage features which is not what it was designed for.

    @terry henry for 12p is it coming with rack mount 19'' bracket?

    • @TerryHenry
      @TerryHenry  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Not included. You need to order the rack mount separately.

    My sister had this installed by amazon in her home a little bit ago and the genius didn’t give them any login credentials. When I installed her new router for her, the old ssid remained although the old router was entirely removed. I factory reset the switch, got into the console port and gave it a new user and password but still can’t login to the GUI...please help

      Use this video and connect to the console first. Then power cycle the switch. Hit b when it starts to boot. Then type "no password" then "boot" and the switch will boot without a password. change password, write memory and reboot. Look for a video of mine on ICX password recovery.

    How does this work on a Mac OS system?

    • @TerryHenry
      @TerryHenry  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      It does not work with USB-C to USB-C. You need to use a USB-A to USB-C cable and a port adapter on the MAC side. It is not a RUCKUS problem. The problem is the MAC does not have a UART on USBC.

    Ruckus is junk! Bought a Lennar/Village Builder house that came with it and every time I have power off it doesn’t work. Tired of fixing their junks. Would not buy anything with a Ruckus name on it.

      When you make a configuration change on the switch you need to save the configuration with 'write memory' or else you will lose your changes when it reboots. You are welcome.

      Just curious, are you saying that when you have no power your network doesn't work? .....cause I'd be surprised if it did.
