    This information has always interested me. Learning neuromuscular therapy and sports massage for the medical field and rehabilitation, you learn about trigger points and fascial adhesions. There are charts that map out common places where trigger points form in various muscle groups. I once looked at a trigger point map and a accupressure chart side by side. The similarities were pretty cool. Whether or not traditional Asian medicine works or not, I still find it fascinating.

    A Traditional Chinese Medicine doctor once told me if someone goes into cardiac arrest to bite down (not too hard) on their pinky finger. Has anyone ever heard this? 🤷‍♂️

    • @Bj-yf3im
      @Bj-yf3im 4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Yes, it is used in Chinese medicine as a First Aid point when a person has a heart attack . It is because the Heart Channel ends on the ulnar side of the nail of the pinky finger. The point is the 9th point on the Heart Channel and is called Heart 9 (He9) in the West and Shaochong in Chinese. It is often used for restoring consciousness which may happen in heart problems. It is said that you can try biting the pinky along the sides of the nail to see if a person is really alive before you decide that he/she has no hope and should receive a burial.

    3 Quick questions: 1) For symptoms like insomnia or anxiety or travel sickness, would it be reasonable to take a penny/button/small bead and tape it down over the specific pressure point? 2) Keeping in mind to avoid acupressure points that might trigger labor, is it possible to overstimulate a pressure point? 3) How long is too long to stimulate the acupressure point? Thanks for your reply.

    • @patriciastordahl1220
      @patriciastordahl1220 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      To not trigger labor leave the feet alone. Reflexology is amazing for so many issues. But obviously one can't practice this on themselves. I agree with this and acupuncture over western medical. Saying that, there is a place for both styles of practice. But Acupuncture at age 68 has even caused pathways to relax and open. In 4 weeks and two treatments with zero changed or trying I've lost 15 lbs.

      Honesty Fenix.. Usually when you are on the right spot (usually about the diameter of a finger tip) it will be tender. This indicates it is blocked. You can explore the area until you find the tender spot, a lot of pressure is not required, firm is good. Often they are in a slight depression in the tissue. For more info search the individual point such as “LI 4” (large intestine meridian, point # 4).. Explore & practice some, they work! Good luck. Good book & TH-cams by Michael Reed Gach. Best..

I thought it was a miracle in a pill it took the pain completely away. After prescribing me 30 of them every month for 2 years he felt I had a problem and he wasn't wrong. The pinching across the back is a technique called "Na" from the massage "Tui Na". The bladder lines on the back connect with the nerve roots to your internal organs. Appropriate technique done on those areas can make massive changes in the physiology of the human body. A student i had with an irregular heart beat healed within minutes of releasing certain points. Your mother knew something quite special by the sounds of it

I will definitely share your video to all my kids because I always use these points when they complain about everything/anything and they scream and say that they don't know if it's from how hard I press these points or are they really in need of healing. Sometimes they beg me to acupuncture them instead but I don't know...but I just love watching them scream....ha ha ha. Thank your mom for me!!!! Live your video

    For asthma use the Vitarka mudra. Pressing the first finger and thumb together is often to be seen in Buddha images.
    It relaxes lung airways by acupressure.
    Habitual use cured my asthma and airway remodeling.
    Asthma medication acts paradoxically it causes more asthma.
    The beneficial effects of mudra exercises on asthma and the association between asthma and mouth breathing
    indicate a causal connection.

    That was so funny the bedtime story at the end. Oh I love this. I have pregnancy carpel tunnel so I’ll use the wrist one but steer clear of the other that induces, thanks for that disclaimer. I know your joking but I assure you those were super loving pinches, you got to pinch her back lol. Thank you I’m watching this over and over. I just started cupping and my pain, especially chronic pregnancy pain is so relived and instantly too, it’s so amazing. I had acupressure done once and it hurt so bad but after 5 minutes I had this bad injury that completely healed and never came back. I’m so into acupressure now. Nobody wants to massage but squeezing a cup, pinching, or pressing hard is pretty simple to ask of somebody, even a child or teen
