I gotta say im much happier to see these comments here on TH-cam where people actually seem happy to see the OG Dirty 30 get worked on because over on instagram people were bashing a lot since he already has the Dirty 30 2.0 Anyways! Can’t wait to see both Dirty 30’s together on the tracks!
Get the dirty 30 back to her glory of being a tractor. My favourite show/memory was when you actually had to take it off road, forever! Shows ypu knew what your truck was, and wasn't capable of. Then, you jumped in the D-Max and went on to annoy Graham in the high Vic country. Best of luck with the build 👍🏽
I had a 1983 60 series wagon with the old 2H non-turbo engine. It was literally unstoppable. I was on the road near Mareeba one year, camped at the Barron River stopover. In the morning, the engine wouldn't turn over. I checked the oil and the radiator. One was empty and one was way overfull. Somewhere in the guts, a gasket let all the radiator water into the sump. I drained everything (15-litres of water in the sump), blew out the pistons that were a mix of water and oil, then used 3 bottles of Bar's Leaks on it over the day. We got it running and headed North with a giant smokescreen behind us as we drove through Mareeba. We were 3km out of Mareeba before the smoke stopped. We drove that 2H wagon for another year before the rust killed it (we were living on Walker Bay beach) and the clutch finally died. I had to replace the fuel pump throttle control diaphragm at one stage. Had to drive from Brisbane to Rockhampton with a length of wire to manually dethrottle the pump. The mechanic in Rocky told mne how to replace it, so I did the job and she was a gem. I also had issues with the alternator that was in it. Someone put an alternator with an internal regulator on it and wired it through the old regulator on the inner guard. It cooked batteries on a regular basis. An old electrician I knew rewired the thing and installed a transistor-based external regulator for me. She was a brilliant old jigger.
I built a wooden wall in my shed and mounted the most damaged fenders from each 4WD I've owned over the years. Using a Sharpie, I wrote down where I got each dent. It may sound silly, but to me, it's a collection of memories I shared with friends and family that I'll never forget.
what id like to see is the og 30 and shorty go back out in the bush maybe tazmania or cape york that would be amazing cant wait to see the og 30 back in action!
Best trip was going north from Captain Billie's landing with Graham in shorty and Jamie in the defender.... Going 2.5km across that mudflat was heartstopping!!!
The og dirty 30 by far the best news your restoring it to its glory was kinda upset the mk2 wasn’t with the 12ht Graham needs to return shorty too and the episodes will be great again miss the old episodes
I still remember buying the dvds of 4wd24/7 and watching the dirty thirty it’s what got me into 4 wheel drives the reason why I brought my clapped out old surf and fixed it up
My son loves Toyota’s especially Land cruisers he’s got a 4WD game on his iPad and loves to build 60 and 80 series 4WDS.Sooty inspired us to build a 80 and do cape York, now have a Hilux and traveling WA.What a absolute car that 60 was, glad your bringing it back.
Every bloke has a dream of buying and restoring their first car, or just a car they regret selling. Good to see Shaunos hard work paying off and fulfilling this dream, good on ya mate! Can wait to see how this turns out.
Most memorable and unforgettable moment in the Dirty 30 was in coffs, when you rolled it 😅 definitely put my hairs on end all then 7/8 years ago. I’m From uk and watched every episode in the last 10 years absolutely love you guys 👌
I cant wait, I watched every single episode that was ever made with the OG dirty 30, so many memories and I can't wait to see it all done. Best of luck with the resto Shauno!
Strewth Shauno... 5-6 years!!! man the time flew. Best that l don't show this to my old 89/130-3Y,,,, as much as he loves to see an old mate brought back to life,,, he gets upset when any Yota gets dispatched..... and he will be back on the tools again tomorrow, earning his shed space!
I am so excited for this. To think the OG Dirty 30 and Dirty 30 mk2 are going to be together. I hope you make it identical to how it use to look, just in new condition. All the way down to the stickers. How good that would be. Can’t wait!
My greatest OG Dirty 30 memory….well it was still a 60 at the time. You went out with Roothy (in the Red Truck) and you hit Commando for the first time. You were so precious with the rig back then that you didn’t want to scratch it, lol. That look on your face when you nearly rolled it was priceless, really capturing the sentiment of the moment. Roothy had to show you up of course, but even he didn’t make it all the way. Great memories and a great inspiration to reach past your comfort zone. How far you’ve come. Well done champion! 😄👍🏼
Been watching since you started at 247, and the d3 was always balls out. Good to see you resurrecting the truck that always hit it hard and blazed the trail.
This is what made me to subscribe to this channel many years ago was watching the old dirty 30 out there doing her work, I'd all but thought you got rid of her good to see that she's being resurrected and put them back on the trail
It great to have a network of friends who know someone who knows someone, then get a great project vehicle. I hope you keep the four quad headlights this time. It's the signature look of the OG D30.
The original 30 is what inspired my interest in Landcruisers and 4wds. As much as the new incarnation is an incredible build, it just doesn't have that leaf sprung, roaring 12ht through ruts and bog holes charm. I think it kind of became the hero car of the show, something old that had to be driven properly hard. The reason I have a 12HT 60 series today myself. They're just special cars from a time gone, waaay cooler than any 70 series. One thing though, if you're buying or bought a JDM import take the KM's you see with a grain of salt, you'll see the true 200,000km+ extra on the old Japanese paper work. They are super tough, but I'd be doing a compression/leak down test just for peace of mind.
Soon we'd love to see an episode for all you guys with your new builds shauno OG dirty 30 , jess in the nissan patrol BMW & jocko in the old red hilux.......Graham we waiting for you man
Same goes for the og Sooty! Save it all the spots the body mounts tore out or rusted you can cut that metal out and either order new sections to replace it or cut what you need out of a wreck, this way in 5-6 years if the new Sooty gets that bad you'll by then have a good body to build from! Blow it apart and little at a time fix each panel or reinforcement piece of the body supports one piece at a time Clean it out now so it doesn't rust worst, also on building the og dirty 30 upgrade to disk breaks so your not loosing them after a mud bog! And weld in reinforcement plates where the original frame was cracking to prevent it! I hope your going to sand blast the frame powder coat it! I'd honestly do coils and track bars in front just so it drives better but everything else keep 12Ht and everything how it was! So happy you decided to do this for the old girl!
I'll admit I was pissed when I realized I wouldn't be seeing how bad you flooded Sooty and how you guys got out of there tonight because I waited a week to see that!!! But I was even more excited when I realized what this was!!! I've been saying to myself I could rebuild the og dirty 30 it's not thar hard! You have the skills to do it as well! I'm over the moon smiling ear to ear seeing that the Og Dirty 30 is being redone! Just put 80 series front trailing arms and coils on the front we don't need you keeping a log with you for each time you invert a leaf sping!!!! My 03 F250 is leaf springs front and rear and I'm converting it to coils and track bars because you don't get all the bouncing and deflection it will drive perfectly straight down the road without fighting the wheel! You'll be glad you did it trust Me! But everything else keep it original how you had it! Looking forward to seeing if the 80 made a good boat tho!!! Hopefully that's coming any day now;) keep it up bro you guys are Legends!
This rig is the reason I started watching 4wd 24-7 and was the inspiration to start a k260 patrol chop but due to circumstances had to abandon the project. Looking forward to the next video. When is Graham going to do a feature build? All the best from Scotland 👍
Best of moment when you, graham and Jamie went to the cape via the coast and had to cross that massive low tide sand flat. Not only have I re watched it multiple times on TH-cam I still have the dvd. I actually have every dvd stored in a box in the shed. Can’t believe we used to have to wait a month between watching episodes back in the day.
When you rolled in Coffs Harbour, that was my favourite memory just goes to show you how good the old dirty 30 went. She needs to be rebuilt and put back to the test in Coffs Harbour.
Not gonna lie mate, the other day I was actually wondering what happened to the old Dirty 30 and if we would ever see it again. Absolute cracker of a resto and i cant wait for the finished result! 🤘🤘
I can’t wait for this one mate I’d love to see the 30 and shorty do another episode one day those cars are what started my love for 4wding! My favorite memory was the 30 in tazzie on a massive angle in a bog hole on the $1000 track I couldn’t believe how it no matter what you threw at it she just kept chugging along
Owning a cruiser with a 12HT, is like having a good dog, they are tough and dependable and even if they do pass on, they are missed and still talked about. Can't wait to see the OG thirty rollin again👍
I've lived the "no-electrics, but 12H-T is fine" experience... Killed the batteries one day, by leaving the lights on while at work... Was dark by the time we caught it. Push started it, and it started right up... though we quickly realized the alternator was shot (reason the batteries were so weak), so no lights of any kind, and had to park it until daylight...But it ran fine, as we drove it around the parking lot a few times. I love the 12H-T in my 60... perfect post-apocalypse motor... can run without electrics, burn just about anything oily (runs on 100% soy right now), and will last another 200K easy.
Shauno I'm excited to see you rebuilding the original dirty 30! I just rebuild my 1979 K30 4x4 which I've owned for 24 years , so I understand how you feel . Can't wait to see the videos.
Good luck with the restoration of the OG Dirty 30. My favourite memory was in the NT with Shorty and making the truck in Lorolla Springs. And going to the coast from Coen.
My best memory was when you drove from captain cooks landing up the coast to usher point. I loved that dvd must have watched it a dozen times over the years

So glad to see the OG Dirty 30 coming back with the leaf spring chassis. While the coil sprung Mk 2 is a weapon in its own right, i always love seeing old leaf-sprung girls keeping up with the modern rigs.
My favourite memory was when I first met Shaun when he first chopped it, I got to meet him out the front of a mechanic in Newcastle and that’s when I first saw the og dirty 30 when it was first chopped
My favorite memory of the og dirty 30 was the 1000 dollar track you and barny done alone with Graham waiting at the other end those were the days 👌👌 looking forward to the og come back.
Hey Shauno you have so many great memories in that car and I loved seeing you wheel the heck out of that thing in the high country on some sketchy steep track any way mate keen to se her back on the road👍🤙
Awesome I totally understand the sentimental value of a vehicle I still have my original Ln65 Hilux That was purchased in 1986 , she is almost back to mint condition.
I started reading 4WD monthly so long ago where Roothy’s Milo and Pat Callinan’s Otis (LWB Sierra running Commodore V6 driveline and I think Hilix running gear were current. I’ve seen some amazing vehicles grace the pages/videos of this iconic institution, including Shauno’s zook so it is great to see the Dirty 30 come back to life. Good luck Shauno! Best episodes were the Kimberley series towing the camper really showed how hard the old truck had worked with recovery points twisting. For the truck that was always sent in first she deserves a rebuild.
Best memory for sure was the first 4WD Action dvd I got was down in Tassie doing the $1000 track in Tassie which is also where I happen be from I genuinely had a little tear to when you had to take it off the road
Now it’s Grahams turn to restore his G60!
Million subs celebration
Or upgrade the shorty
Nah no one cares about kneesarns
@@joseph8852 ?
Best I know, Graham never had a G60. He did have Shorty.
Can't beleive it's been six years. So cool to see the old 4wd action sticker on the windscreen, thanks 4 bringing her back shauno

My favorite dirty 30 memory was putting it on its side in coffs. I was crushed when this legend got parked.
Been waiting for this for a while, mate! I missed the old 30

That's awesome!
The OG Dirty 30 really sits beside Ruthy's Milo, Graham's Shorty and other iconic 4wd's. I'd love to see her in a museum somewhere some day.
I agree completely. 👍🏻
I was thinking the same.
I'd love to have it in my shed 😂
what id like to see is the og 30 and shorty go back out in the bush maybe tazmania or cape york that would be amazing cant wait to see the og 30 back in action!
Best trip was going north from Captain Billie's landing with Graham in shorty and Jamie in the defender.... Going 2.5km across that mudflat was heartstopping!!!
Got a link to it? Can't find it on search
That 64-65 Impala and 80 series in the background.
we need to bring back shorty and the og 30!!!
This warms my heart. I love my HJ61
The og dirty 30 by far the best news your restoring it to its glory was kinda upset the mk2 wasn’t with the 12ht
Graham needs to return shorty too and the episodes will be great again miss the old episodes
The Dirty 30 is what got me into 60 series cruisers
I still remember buying the dvds of 4wd24/7 and watching the dirty thirty it’s what got me into 4 wheel drives the reason why I brought my clapped out old surf and fixed it up
My partners still got every single one of those DVDs in the cupboard...

Every time Shaun says "Everythink" my soul diminishes a little more.
Every bloke has a dream of buying and restoring their first car, or just a car they regret selling.
Good to see Shaunos hard work paying off and fulfilling this dream, good on ya mate! Can wait to see how this turns out.
YES!!!!! Who doesnt love a project car

Some of that old footage of the 60 is a trip down memory lane 🙌
Been watching since you started at 247, and the d3 was always balls out. Good to see you resurrecting the truck that always hit it hard and blazed the trail.

Nothing beats the og
It great to have a network of friends who know someone who knows someone, then get a great project vehicle. I hope you keep the four quad headlights this time. It's the signature look of the OG D30.
Best memory would be Cape York wild east coast trip. You Graham and Jamie.Would be one of the best episodes to date. 3 iconic 4wd vehicles in Aus
My fav memory of og 30 was when you rolled it on its side n rolled back over n kept going
Good on you Coop! Doing things as a first year that some of us can't even achieve at the age of 45!! Congras!!
Absolute respect for the original , the legend
Builds ultimate perfection new Dirty 30, never drives it, Sooty always chosen, as will likely the restored dirty 30.
The original 30 is what inspired my interest in Landcruisers and 4wds. That short video has made me so excited!! Can’t wait to watch the evolution of this car. The cab came up really good with a strip and clean.

Awesome video as always 4WD 24/7 Crew.

With the amount of bits getting replaced, this will be a Landcruiser that identifies as The Dirty 30 😊
And then identify as a GQ Nissan. Sorry, to far. 😂
The Landcruiser of Theseus
I prefer the 62 over the 60, but the 60 grille and round headlights are absolutely iconic. I hope you go that route on your build.
A 62 and 60 can still be round headlights
When you rolled in Coffs Harbour, that was my favourite memory just goes to show you how good the old dirty 30 went. She needs to be rebuilt and put back to the test in Coffs Harbour.
Amazed with how much you drive on beaches and salt water that wasn’t rusted completely. Not bad shape at all! Look forward to the build.
Not gonna lie mate, the other day I was actually wondering what happened to the old Dirty 30 and if we would ever see it again. Absolute cracker of a resto and i cant wait for the finished result! 🤘🤘

Much love from the Philippines
Damn the 80 in the back was clean!!
That 2 tone paint job on the 60 is awesome. Those seats are sweet too.
Owning a cruiser with a 12HT, is like having a good dog, they are tough and dependable and even if they do pass on, they are missed and still talked about.
Can't wait to see the OG thirty rollin again👍
BIG LOVE FROM 🇹🇹🇹🇹🇹🇹 TRINIDAD AND TOBAGO 🇹🇹🇹🇹🇹🇹.... I CANT WAIT TO SEE THIS BEAST ON THE ROAD
Yessss mate, you beauty. I've been going through the old dvds lately. Would absolutely love to see this weapon on the move again 🖤
I've lived the "no-electrics, but 12H-T is fine" experience... Killed the batteries one day, by leaving the lights on while at work... Was dark by the time we caught it. OG 30 got character and the 12ht sound....would love to see it out again😊
We all expect a shorty rebuild now 😊
I’d love to see it with all your old 4wd action stickers on it. Would make it so much more of a resto
I can’t wait to see the complete results but I know Shauno will never fail me 😊❤
Shauno I'm excited to see you rebuilding the original dirty 30!
I just rebuild my 1979 K30 4x4 which I've owned for 24 years , so I understand how you feel . Can't wait to see the videos.
You should make this dirty thirty into a winch comp truck like jockos pony 👍👍🍺🍺
It's an episode I've been dreaming of. The og dirty 30!!
Favourite memory is when Shaun almost rolled the old girl on the thousand buck track
Love to see your enthusiasm Shauno, awesome 🎉
Seeing you roll in coffs and then jump straight back on the wagon and drove it. That’s courage right there shauno good ol days.
Mile of mud episode is probably one of my favorite memories of the og
Good luck with the restoration of the OG Dirty 30. My favourite memory was in the NT with Shorty and making the truck in Lorolla Springs. And going to the coast from Coen.
I love that car in the back of the garage! Absolutely beautiful.
My best memory was when you drove from captain cooks landing up the coast to usher point. I loved that dvd must have watched it a dozen times over the years
Having a 62 series Sahara myself for over 20 years, my favorite trip is one of the first ones, the one you went on on the east coast of the cape, only just making it passed the rocks on the beach and through the water. there was Graham in shorty and a long wheelbase Landrover ute. Having to get lots of info and permits etc. The Dirty Thirty wasnt yet!
So glad to see the OG Dirty 30 coming back with the leaf spring chassis.
While the coil sprung Mk 2 is a weapon in its own right, i always love seeing old leaf-sprung girls keeping up with the modern rigs.
Moment we’ll never forget is when the dirty 30 rolled over at Coffs 🥵 was a wicked episode, 5 years ago!!
My favourite memory was when I first met Shaun when he first chopped it, I got to meet him out the front of a mechanic in Newcastle and that’s when I first saw the og dirty 30 when it was first chopped
graham needs to get going with the resto on the shorty
Good to see the old Dirty 30 back and my favourite memory of that beast would have to be seeing it start after the roll over in Coffs Harbour
My favorite memory of the og dirty 30 was the 1000 dollar track you and barny done alone with Graham waiting at the other end those were the days 👌👌 looking forward to the og come back.
Super excited for this! You and the OG dirty 30 are what inspired me to seriously get into 4wd camping.
Yeah awesome Shauno, bring her back mate Good luck brother
This is a nice project build. Repaint, rewiring repair all the rust.
I reckon the best (or worst) memory of the OG Dirty 30 was the roll over in coffs harbour mate!
absolutely killing it with all the content lately cheers 🍻
Hey Shauno you have so many great memories in that car and I loved seeing you wheel the heck out of that thing in the high country on some sketchy steep track any way mate keen to se her back on the road👍🤙
Awesome I totally understand the sentimental value of a vehicle I still have my original Ln65 Hilux That was purchased in 1986 , she is almost back to mint condition.
More please love it
Looking forward to the end product. I hope you retain the OGs quad headlights this time.
awesome cant wait to see it done
Ahh I remember the good old days of that 60 when it was a wagon on 33s following around Roothy with a young fella driving it!
If you're going to use new quarter panels up front, please make sure it still has that dent in the front right corner! So much character there
All the DIRT FROM 60-30 🍺😎🤘
Imagine a ❤ from 4wd 24/7
❤
How do you keep the stickers on the ute
I think Shauno should rebuild the OG Dirty30 and keep it in Aussie now that the Dirty30MK.2 is in the US!
My favourite memory from the OG 30 is its first trip on the Telegraph track
I started reading 4WD monthly so long ago where Roothy’s Milo and Pat Callinan’s Otis (LWB Sierra running Commodore V6 driveline and I think Hilix running gear were current. I’ve seen some amazing vehicles grace the pages/videos of this iconic institution, including Shauno’s zook so it is great to see the Dirty 30 come back to life. Good luck Shauno! Best episodes were the Kimberley series towing the camper really showed how hard the old truck had worked with recovery points twisting. For the truck that was always sent in first she deserves a rebuild.
