    It’s a favorite. The ArrowsRC 50mm Viper was my first edf a couple years ago. I bought both the 50mm Bae Hawk and T-33 when they first came out. The T-33 was great right out of the box, but the Bae Hawk didn’t match the Viper or the T-33. It wasn’t until a fellow pilot heard me complaining about the Bae Hawk being a dud and suggested increasing the throws to 120-130%. Made all the difference in the world! Now it’s my favorite of the 50mm’s. Never a dull moment or lackluster turning, rolls or loops. (Flying either 90/30 or 70/30 rates. 1800 3s 70c)

    Very nice review of the Bae Hawk!! I maidend mine last week, my first EDF Jet and I was very impressed with the way it flew!! I think your video showed perfectly how easy it is to put together and how well it flies 😄👍

      Strange. Mine balances perfectly with either the 1300mAh or 1500mAh 3s packs right where they are meant to be. Any repairs or modifications ?

    Saw this a while back and the Hawk looks amazing. Nice to see this Arrows brand hopefully revive the Sky Angel series of jets that were popular the past ten years. They seems to have standardised the battery compartment size which was the biggest problem with the Sky Angel series. I believe there is a Viper Jet available too. Hope they bring out an F-18 also as that was an amazing jet to fly but the Blue Angels livery was not so great. An F16 Aggressor Squadron in arctic camo would be great too! I’d go 4s for unlimited verticals!

    • @ScaleMeDown
      @ScaleMeDown  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Yes, I love this little jet. Can't wait for an F-18 (particularly with Top Gun II coming out), and I would really like to see a little L-39 at this small size

      @@ScaleMeDown I’ve flown the Sky Angels L-39 Albatross too and still have it, that is a nice jet to fly as well. Currently I also have an A4 Skyhawk & JAS-39 Gripen too.

    I noticed yours didn't come with the factory gyro I guess it's not really needed if properly set up, am I right?

    • @ScaleMeDown
      @ScaleMeDown  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes, the UK versions do not have a gyro (there is a misprint on the box) but the plane does not need one. We also review the T-33 from this range here (th-cam.com/video/q3DGYWM3EOc/w-d-xo.html), and that also does not come with a gyro.

    Isn't the CG ment to be on top of the wing?

    • @ScaleMeDown
      @ScaleMeDown  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I balanced mine on the bottom of the fuselage on the edge of a drinking glass balanced the right way up - dead easy.

  • @rodinvillarosa2924
    @rodinvillarosa2924 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Nice and direct to the point review sir. Just a question, Im planning to get this without a gyro, and Ive heard in other forums that this particular model (as compared to the Arrows Viper) is quite "twitchy". Is it just a matter of rates and expo adjustments? Or anything particular I have to mindful of specially on the maiden. Thanks again

    • @ScaleMeDown
      @ScaleMeDown  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks. I set the elevator throw as per the high rates in the manual, and the ailerons at the low rates stated in the manual (this of course is personal preference) and I found it fine to fly - 20% expo on the ailerons made it a bit more comfortable, but I never found it to be twitchy. I did keep it light using a 1500 mAh 3s battery which massively helps the hand launch and the stall. Since flying this model (alot) over the past few weeks, I now prefer to launch the model by gripping the fuselage from behind the wings rather than use the moulded in finger grips.
      We also review the T-33 from this range th-cam.com/video/q3DGYWM3EOc/w-d-xo.html and this was toned down quite a bit from the low rates stated in the manual. The throws set out in the instructions for the hawk are closer to perfection than the T-33.
      Best of luck with your maiden flight.

    Have you tried a 2200mah on this

    • @ScaleMeDown
      @ScaleMeDown  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      No, not yet. Many have tried, and get 8 minutes or so of flight time. However, most of my 3 cell 2200 mAh packs are quite old, and only have a 35c rating. I suspect the extra weight will affect the handling, but I will report back when I have tried it on the bigger packs.

    If you think hand- tossing was easy with a 3s you should try 4s way easier and way more fun

    • @ScaleMeDown
      @ScaleMeDown  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Love this plane on 3s. I tend to fly the T-33 on 4s is it is slightly draggier, and the canopy area slightly taller for the 4s pack. I have however flown this model on 4s and love it also - just think I prefer a super light 3s setup.
