It was pretty easy to add a rudder to my arrows viper 50mm. I ordered an extra servo, push rod and control horn set when I bought it. You just push the rod thru fuse back towards the tail. There's barely enough room for a 2nd servo. The rudder shape was already molded into the tail so just had to cut it out and add hinges. It took maybe 20 min and looks like it was made from the factory. But keep in mind that you might want to replace the stock esc. Mine burned up right in front of my eyes while programming it for the first time. They replaced it with a 40a no problem. Now I need to find a set of retracts that'll fit. Maybe add some flaps and clear canopy. I'd really like to figure out how to add thrust vectoring tho. It would be awesome to have a mini 3d jet
I'm a Brit. Used to work in Aerospace. You're the ONLY North American who can say BAE correctly... Great job 👏. Just bought the Arrows Viper and love it. Going 4s after your video. 🇬🇧
Hands down, the Arrows 50mm are the best bang for the buck one can own.. Viper 50mm is definitely the best handling out of the bunch. BAE-Hawk has a tendency to stall at low and high speeds. The viper just has the best all around capabilities.. 4s, 2200mAh.. with 5-6 minutes of flight with throttle management
If you want to have fun (after all that's what the hobby is about) with no stress, then these are the planes to buy. I have three of them and love flying them.
I have the Viper. It is awesome. I run it on 4S and installed a rudder with the servo in the tail, which balances out the 4S battery nicely. Even has connection on the gyro for a rudder, including stabilisation. I like the rudder but it only has a minor effect, maybe because the body is so short and the tail surface is quite small. 3 settings on the gyro. In spektrum speak - off, Safe, AS3X.
I bought the same t33 last summer. Been the best jet I have owned so far. With a tattu 1300ma and modified the cheater hole to about triple the size 90mph easy. And this is the only 50mm jet that has a good sound.
Man, I thought it was by watching it fly, it also looks most realistic of the bunch as well, looking forward to flying it, the sound for a 50mm is impressive too, you can't beat it for the price I think in all aspects.
Fly my T33 with an AR630 receiver sitting beside the elevator servo and 4S 2200 battery set all way back in battery bay with supplied 30amp esc , goes like hot goblin snot , fly's like it's on rails
I like these dude. Im just getting into flying the past year. I have a small pusher prop/glider. Do you think i can handle one of these considering it has the gyro's?
I think it depends how well you land the pusher. These have the same benefit of not having to worry about a prop to break. But they do fly faster! I think with the gyro on and the rates set to 60-70% .. you should have no issue at all if your good at flying the pusher!
@@Jays_rcgarage I've become a pusher junkie.lmao I can get acrobatic in pretty high wind and butter landings but have only flown that plane so my confidence is still a little weak as I always hear EDF jets aren't for beginners. You made it look so easy though. But when you flew it like I do( stability control on for take offs and then turn off for fun) I thought , "hey, I could do that."lol
Jay, I just picked up the T-33 for $20.00 & the Viper for $50.00. No gyro or receiver in either plane. I ordered two spektrum AR631 with AS3X & Safe receivers for both planes. Jay, do you think they will fly okay without using the recommended gyro?
Viper is my favorite. BAE Hawk is ok but heavier. L39 is underpowered which can cause challenges. I don’t have the p80 yet. Viper is the best plane I have ever owned.
Yeah. It’s fine, just easier when the gyro is helping keep the plane level on the toss when you only have one hand on the remote. But you can take off without the gyro as well.
This flying field has tall brush or asphalt. So I would probably rip the wings off trying to land it in the brush. I don’t mind some scratches on the small plane! I like to have fun with them 😎
@@Jays_rcgarage ahh ok.That explains why it pings off whenever I skim a leaf lol.High quality tho,I did a sharp turn and hit the ground. The only thing that broke was the right gear!Love it but I can’t fly it in the British weather.Rain, wind, etc! But I’m looking forward to fly it in like summer and that
3d print some servo protectors similar to the ones on the wings, glue them near wing and fuselage air intake and that will protect the bottom landing on grass or asphalt
i put a HRB 1500mah 70c battery in mine and got a 110 mph in straight level flight...Dont buy those Zee Batteries ive have 4 of them and they are guttless and drain rapidly
I’ll try the HRB. I run SMC in everything usually. They didn’t have this size so I went to Amazon lol I never had an issue with the smaller ZEEE. But the bigger ones I always found they unbalance
@@Jays_rcgarage some other fantastic brands for the price are Ovonic Air and Roaring Top. these have been my 2 favorites for a couple years now Especially the Ovonic Air

I put the servo right into the rudder on my viper …
For the price that’s cool.

I can say without exaggeration that little L-39 is if not the, one of the BEST FLYING EDF JETS I HAVE EVER FLOWN🔥🔥
💪🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
Love these smaller models. Can’t wait for more videos!
I am going to get the Freewing F-8 Crusader! I am very excited!

Great tip for CofG. I'm going 4s with my viper too and will pop a rudder servo in the tail to... 🇬🇧
@@doverivermedia3937 FYI. The gyro can't be changed so to get the gyro to react in the right direction I installed the rudder servo "upside down".

Awesome video bro, the pocket jet thing is just too funny, I ordered a T33 and plan on getting the L39 due to this video.
😊 👍🏻

I love them! They are the perfect jet for park flying! I want one so badly!
Seriously what would you take for the totaled BAE HAWK?? I've never flew an EDF jet, I'd really love to try though, Awesome planes, Nice flying...

They are a blast to fly and are inexpensive.

so if you have a six channel receiver what are the 5 and 6 for
