Awesome. I can’t believe it flew so well after that. That definitely proves the plane and vector system are good, but your pilot skills most probably made it look a lot better. Well done.
“Thumper”, AKA, the Flex Innovations QQ300 in my videos flew like garbage after an unplanned landing but cleared up after a power cycle. Apparently the gyro got its feelings hurt and needed to be rebooted. An older DJI drone did the same and actually needed a “nudge” of the onboard flight controller just to get the gyro numbers to settle back to center. While an actual hammer wasnt’t used, the concept of “get a bigger hammer…” sometimes still applies.

How amazing was that, flying so well with all that fuselage missing. I hope Arrows sees the video, you may get a LARGE portrait of you and the BAE finding a home on the wall of their office. Sorry about the loss of the plane, but the video was wonderful. Oh yeah . . . I absolutely love your channel, you and "camera crew " are awesome!
It was awesome! I still have her waiting patiently to be put back to nearly 100% in about, I'd say, 15-30 minutes of effort. Then she'll cruise the skies with the best of them all over again ;)
That's the way to go! I was flying it a lot on 4s 2300mah - had to remove some foam to shove it more to the back. It's awesome, but just as you said it "you need to give yourself more room". I am warning everyone of tip stalling due to extra weight. The recommended 3S 1800mah is 165g, while a 4s 2300mah is 230g. I My main flying spot was a small field just next to my house - I had to make tight turns not to hit the forest or the houses on the other sides and I tip stalled a lot of times because of that - especially when turning against the wind. That thought me a lot, but after some time the whole front of the plane was more glue and carbon rods then foam xD But as you have provem, that does not matter much ;) For that field I bought 4S 1800mah batteries - 200g. I think this would be the optimal weight/flighttime When I flew on the proper field - no obstacles, but higher wind, using 2300mah then it's just the most fun I ever had with RC! A little speed demon :) I have ordered another one (since the first one was so banged up) AND a T-33 as well.
Maybe you can help me out. I just set up my BAE Hawk using a Spektrum ar 631 rx and NX 8 tx. I used this rx only because I had it in my spares box. Since it is a hand launch I wanted Safe. I removed the Vector module as unneeded. Every thing bound up fine, all control surfaces and throttle work as should except that in Safe mode the elevator works in reverse. The ailerons are working properly. The elevator works correctly using the tx stick. I am at a loss, and would appreciate any help. Thanks
First thing first... All the surfaces MOVE in the correct direction as you command them from the Tx - No? Fix this and then continue... YES? Go back through RELEARN SERVO POSITIONS (or First Time AS3X Setup) where it asks you to put the plane level, then continue, and then on it's NOSE, and this will identify your Receiver's orientation...THIS IS CRUSTAL, and I've had one, and only one time, where the Rx disagreed with reality....ultimately, I ended up MANUALLY setting the orientation, and guess what...it was still wrong... I just made the adjustment and then it was fine. Given you're going to do this, you need to be 100% sure the surfaces are... 1) Moving in the correct direction of command from the sticks 2) Correcting for AS3X in the SAME DIRECTION YOU MOVE THE PLANE 3) Correcting for Auto-Leveling the correct direction to restore level flight. Check the ailerons AND the elevator. ...then you'll be golden. I think all you'll HAVE to do is RELEARN SERVO POSITIONS from forward programming, but if not, you might have to do the first time AS3X and then first time SAFE setup. Should be about a 10 minute thing, so thankfully, not a giant time consuming fix.

They call me 4s Bob. I convert most things to a 4s or just use a 4s cuz at our altitude most planes fly much better on a 4s.

LOL - Not the first person to care, but I'm all about utility. I don't really care what people think. I want the sunglasses EXACTLY where I put them, AND need the bill for protection from the sun. I could care less to win a beauty contest.
