Great job! I can do that! I am addicted to gelli printing and stencils are very expensive. Thanks for sharing. Looking forward to watching you use the stencils.

You CAN do that! Making your own stencils kind of blows the possibilities wide open! And- no one else will have the same stencils you do! Happy printing!

Love all your stencil ideas. I also use the clear overhead projector sheets very successfully.

Yes! They’re so great- cheap, easy to cut, and durable (which means, endlessly reusable)! And believe it or not, I like the element of surprise that happens when dried paint from the last use comes off on the plate!

When I get the first pull from a botanical print, (the sillouette) I place acetate over it. Trace ut wuth a sharpie marker and cut out with a craft knife. Labor intensive, but I don't have a Cricket.

Hi…I liked your video about using Tyvek handmade stencils and masks. I made a couple of stencils a few years ago when I found some small scrap pieces of Tyvek from the house construction going on next door. I didn’t know that there was Tyvek paper available. Where do you buy it? I live in Victoria, BC and would like to find a Canadian retailer if possible.
I also watched your follow-up video using the stencils on the gelli plate. I’ve been playing with my gelli plate for a few years and like to scroll through TH-cam for new ideas. Thanks for your videos.

Hi Carmie! I got mine from Amazon - amzn.to/3N199Vs - unfortunately, this listing is no longer available, but you should be able to find something similar. You can also use tyvek envelopes (you can buy those or recycle any you get in the mail), as well as cardstock or poly binder dividers (I get mine from the dollar store) to make stencils too. They all behave slightly differently, with the paint they hold under them, depending on the absorbency of the material you’ve used.
I’m glad you’re enjoying my videos! Happy printing!

Have you tried die cutting the dividers?

Hi Nancy, I have not, as I don't have the tools/ any dies to do this with. Sounds like a good experiment! Although I do wonder about the size - I find smaller stencils to be more annoying to work with. I'd love to hear how it goes if you give it a shot!

These aren’t stencils. They are masks.

Thanks for clarifying and thanks for your comment. I am aware, but for searchability purposes, stencils is the term most people would use.
