  • Who knew rubber bands make great shapes on a Gelli Plate! I experimented and loved the results. Give it a try. This was so successful I plan on trying larger rubber bands in the future. Also try these in combination with stamps or stencils. I think the possibilities are endless. I used the following colors in this video: Oxide Black, Permanent Blue Violet, Apple Tart Green, Alizarin Crimson Hue, Liquitex Phthalo Blue and Fluorescent Blue, Titanium White.

    🎨 Amsterdam Acrylic Paint Set - The black I used is in this set, it's called Oxide Black. Permanent Blue Violet is also in this pack. - amzn.to/45fjDsL
    🎨 Craft Smart Multi-Surface Satin Acrylic Paint Value Pack, 16 Colors, 2 oz. (Apple Tart is the green I used and the pink.) These work well on the Gelli Plate. - amzn.to/47eLOdk
    🎨 Liquitex BASICS Acrylic Paint Set, 24 x 22ml (0.74-oz) Tube Paint Set - amzn.to/3rVKr38

    You amaze me. I purchased a gelli press over a year ago to print my own fabrics and was afraid of messing up. Tried several pieces today and WOW! I surprised myself. This is definitely an addiction. I’m going to have to limit myself to trying different combinations. Thank you so much for your videos and creativity.

    @susanclifton the craft paint is from Michael's.
    Joann fabric, walmart,Popshelf and target all carry a form of fluid acrylic paint.
    The inexpensive brand that is good is from Jerry's artorama the soho brand,I put it up there with amsterdam, liquitex the pigment load and texture are great.
    No brand can touch Golden of course bit for the experimenting with gelli its fun to just explore.

      Yes, I did remember later that was were I got it. I did put a link to the paint in the description. I find that not all colors work smoothly with the craft paint. I wish I could buy Amsterdam in the stores. Thanks for your contribution to the discussion.

    I really love you art instructional videos!
    I’m new to the gel plate printing and one thing that I really wish you and other artist would do is put a solid background behind the gel plate.
    The background grid is too busy with its hard lines and is distracting to the eye and takes away from your instruction.
    Otherwise I just love your work!
    You are a great teacher and you have such a soothing voice!
    Keep creating these videos for us!

      I feel that way as well and have tried to find a surface that I can add to my table that works well with acrylics. The ranger mats are nice but too small and I don't like the brownish color. I might try adding contact paper to my counter. Thanks for watching and I love the feedback. Still working hard to improve the videos. It's a never ending process. But I'm loving it.

    • @SusanCliftonArtist
      @SusanCliftonArtist  ปีที่แล้ว

      I got some cheap deli paper on Amazon. It isn't good for using in collage if you want the background to be absolutely transparent but it's still usable. There are better ones but I haven't found one I like yet. This cheap one is fine for doing pulls like I did to get the paint off the plate to leave a ghost. And for cleaning paint off the plate.
