I like that scene on Star Wars Rebels. When the young protagonist I can't remember his name stood up the Darth Vader and said he wasn't afraid of him. And Darth Vader was like good you'll die braver than most.

Maul himself admitted he was no match for Vader, what did his apprentice think was going to happen? If your master isn't a match for him you certainly aren't going to be.
That was when Maul was old and past his prime he was just a fraction of how powerful he was in TPM at that point

He can compete with Vader but would lose Vader wouldn’t stomp since Maul is stated to be a tier 8 level duelist which is basically the same level Vader is but Vader is higher also TCW magazine compared TPM maul with Vader and it’s stated that it’s close but Vader’s edge comes from his tactical experience
I was so confused when vader said "teräs käsi" since it's finnish and I have never heard anyone say that in star wars. Pretty cool. (translates to "steel hand" for those who might not know)
It's actually a reference to the PSX Fighting game, Star Wars: Masters of Teräs Käsi
Yes, and the Star Wars franchise really loves taking names from real-world languages across the globe. There's a story of a small African nation that went NUTS during a screening of one of the movies because the aliens were speaking their language. They were absolutely jazzed that *their* language was in a main-stream movie.
Pretty sure Teras Kasi was always meant to mean "Steel Hand" from Finnish. That fits the MO of Lucasfilm.
Being a finn is a pathway to many abilities, some of which the Russians consider... unnatural.

Disney makes so every non ahsoka project with a chick lead is like a death blow for the project. Because we are guaranteed to get some random girl who is better than everyone and starts fighting important male characters. Or like holdo just shitting on then directly

I think it is awesome that they mentioned Teräs Käsi from ps1 game. Furthermore, teräs käsi is finnish and it means steel hand.

One of the few good things from Legends that Disney didn't butcher by "canonizing" it. (poor Durge.)
A quick fact about the 3:47 time mark; Teräs käsi, or correctly spelled teräskäsi, translates directly as steel hand from Finnish.
I can see how before the internet made information easily accessible at the global level, how it would be a great idea to borrow words from languages not common in whatever society you're in (i.e, American writer borrowing words from Scandinavian or African languages, etc..). It's not a bad idea today but in the past it was an even better one.
Teräs Käsi means Steel Hand in finnish.
I was very surprised to see some good ol finnish in a comic like this.
Now I need to see Aphra humbled in the same way. That plot armor is way too thick at this point.

@@crimsonlight4205 They are both short blades, calling them tonfa was the wrong word I admit, but they are still the same style of weapon in terms of use
@@shadowstorm6458 not really… a tonfa is usually used with more of a punching style, sort of like an extension of your fists and elbows since most aren’t bladed.
@@crimsonlight4205 I meant as a lightsaber, obviously a real tonfa is used differently. You can slash with a lightsaber tonfa that is literally just a plasma blade. It’s not that hard to understand.

Frankly confused of what master was she talking about. Darth Maul mentioned to Ahsoka that Anakin was groomed for years to become the emperor’s next apprentice, yet he doesn’t seem to know on Malachor who the one called Vader is. All this to substantiate the fact that I imagined Qui’ra avoided bursting in laughter during her training every time her master got triggered by remembering “K e n o b e h !!”

I was wondering what silly Method they were going to use to stop Darth Vader from Killing Emily Clarke's Star Wars Character. In the majority of these comic's Vader rarely if ever lets anyone who attacks him live. Emily Clarke is a popular Actress and I am sure Disney wants to use her in another Star Wars Movie/Show and she has said she wanted to play this character again. So there was no way they were going to let her die by Vader. At least this was better than what they did with Dr. Caska Astka or whatever her name is.

Qi’ras a cool character. I wanna see more of her fighting opponents around her skill like ashoka or sumthing. I never knew maul had more apprentices other than savage.
It’s nice to see that though Maul’s story has ended, his legacy lives on through Qi’ra and Crimson Dawn as they continue his work to cause damage to Sidious’ Empire.

Maul never considered himself to be a Darth after his defeat to Obi-Wan. After watching Mauls journey in the Clone Wars series and in Rebels. He has become probably my favourite character. I really do hope we get some live action Maul.

Exactly. That’s the frustrating part of the story group. They cheapen top tier characters by making all these scrubs stand toe-to-toe with them. They elevate their characters by bringing down established ones.
