If you like story-driven space games and aren't concerned about slow pacing (due solely to the walking speed), and you're okay with it being a 4 to 6 hour only game, then go for it. I enjoyed it and it had a thought provoking story that I feel is deeper than what's on the surface.
If we were in 2015 this game would’ve suffered the same fate as The Order 1886 but I’m glad we’ve left that kind of blind judgment behind in 2023 as a more mature community. I’m definitely give it a chance at full price.

Mind you this game uses the UE5 engine which is 80-90% of the heavy work done in making a game. Still I don't care for QTE in any circumstance, but price wise I can sort of understand it.

Played it and finished it ... so what is this game , its a Unreal 5.2 Third Person Horror Walking Sim , that can be completed in 2h or 6h ... 2h if you want to get to end ... 6h if you hunt for the clues what happened , since you later get all 5 keycards , and its up to you to backtrack and seek the real story... with QTE moments , that even if you fail them ... each gives you the same outcome , since the story ending is fixed ... in short , to not ruin the fun ... see this game, as FireWatch but on Mars , in Third Person ... and at the end , its UP TO YOU ... to piece this story together and a word of warning since this is Unreal 5 , as of now on PC the Nvidia Reflex mode of Ai Visual Upscaling (or any resolution upscale) is broken so don't play with it ... since it crashes the game

I waited until Black Friday 2023 to get this game for $19.99. it's a decent game. The atmosphere is there, the story is intriguing but the gameplay consists of a lot of walking, reading, watching videos, examining items and quick time events. I literally missed like 90% of the QTE and didn't suffer any consequences. It's a chill, slow burn of a game. Don't expect ANY vicersal interactive combat. It's like watching a movie. Overall, it's okay. I think i enjoyed it now that I'm getting older 😂 Wait until it's $5-$10

Love this genre, but this is the worst "game" i have played in years. Its 4 hours long, the plot is paper thin and the characters are as intelligent as a Halloween victim. Great voice acting by Troy barker and the Unreal 5 engine lives up to the hype with even this small studio able to produce impressive graphics but that is all. The one and only reason for being limited to a very slow walking speed is the game would be completed in an hour if you could run. How they think the price is justified is beyond me. This should be at the very most a £5 title.

Also ... maybe it's a small thing, but for a sci-fi and science buff like me, for the game to be set on Mars and clearly have the engine NOT configured for a significantly-reduced Martian gravity was something of a fail. Nonetheless, I enjoyed the game for what it was - although I didn't much care for the ambiguity of the storyline. Sure, there's room for some ambiguity in good story-telling, whether about motives, which direction the story could go from that point onwards, but surely NOT in the foundational aspects and that's what bothered me. To me, much of the story and events could be chalked up using Ockham's Razor as simply "Geez, humans don't fare well mentally under the isolation, strain and exhaustion of working so far from home and from the attentions and affections of their loved ones".

Yeah! Entering a facility that is supposed to have lots of working people, but instead it is empty and silence. Seeing lots of blood on the floor, on cloths and walls, doors that is broken and electronics that has been tapering with, lets laugh and joke about zombies. Even the tiny bits of gameplay are scripted. In many of the quick time events you could fail to press any buttons and get the same result. It's not a game.
The devs said its more or a 2h to 6h Horror Scifi TV Show , comparing it to Netflix Streaming TV ... and for what it achieves, its good ... a new form of interactive entertainment , a Interactive Movie you can end at any time ... and its up to you how much story you want to have in it ... a thing like this was done before with Firewatch and many Telltale games ... so i don't see the big issue here ...

For those that complain about the walking. Have you played RDR2? It's like that but for 6 hours. I'm personally so interested in the story and the atmosphere.
RDR2 certainly had some lengthy stretches of 'walking' or where the gameplay was constrained in some way. I certainly remember that the first hour or two (set in wintery locales) was particularly limiting before the game finally did open up - and man did it ever open up.

Striking Distance made the same mistake with the Callisto Protocol, Jacob moves ridiculously slow.

Slow walking simulator... sounds like it'd be a great movie but a hard pass as a videogame.
Walking Simulator with some of the most annoying controls in gaming, one of the WORST maps, and add on a useless PS5 STICK DRIFT NIGHTMARE controller for good measure and this game is basically unplayable.
