We went in late June, and of course the Cali part was fairly hot. I have an Olympia Motorsports jacket that provides a ton of ventilation, and has a zip out lining that I could use in the early AM when we were at the start of the trip. It was a challenging trip to pack for, but in the end, the weather was perfect every day & our mesh gear was all we ever used. Rain gear for about 1 hour!
I am going to be doing Route 66 this May, how hot or cold did it get? and to ride in this what motorcycle clothing did you need to carry to cope with the various tempreture changes. Regards Duncan Fraser

Oh and the temps ranged between 50's on the Chicago side in the AM, to 120 when we crossed into CA!
