Just unplugged and re plugged that connector by the parking brake and it fixed my issue! Thanks for the video. I felt like a peasant hooking up my trailers without it.
I know right! Doesn't take long to get used to a backup camera. No more dents in the bumper and no more concaved license plate lol 🤣
@@ThisOldFarmShopHow do you unclip it?Was trying but couldnt unclip it.Any suggestion thanks in advance.
It's certainly not easy. Try a small screwdriver to hold the tab while gently wiggling it...
Thanks for the video, will give it a try@@ThisOldFarmShop
I just started managing a fleet of f-250s that have backup cameras, Thank you. I've tried this and it works, especially that last plug by the parking brake.
Glad it helped!! Thanks for watching!
Parking brake module disconnect/reconnect...fixed. I love you bro. Even brought the colored grid back...2010 Lariat
thanks for the video, my issue was a bad camera, replaced it with one from Amazon and now its back up and running. thanks for helping the DIYr
July17,2023 Unplugged and replugged the connector by my parking brake on my 2012 Ford F150. It made my camera work, and it seems that my intermittent problem with my left speaker going out cleared up too. Thank you very much for the information!!!
did you undo any battery terminals?
I didn't. Just left the vehicle off.
Do you remember which plug you did. The video is different from mine and I have a 2011. Do I have to remove plastic panel where the hood release is.
@keithhathcock6886 any chance you can share which connector you disconnected/reconnected? I have a 2012 F150 as well.
Hey@@BigDaadee , I will try to do that tomorrow. I should have replied to this thread to let everyone know that my problem did return. I think it was a coincidence that my camera and speaker started working. They were intermittent so it was wishful thinking on my part. My camera works on most cold days and doesn’t work on hot days. My speaker in the drivers door is making noise like it is busted. I think it is time to replace the speakers and the camera, but I will do my best to post a photo of the connector that I thought was my solution.
Thank you, I did the back tailgate and under the bed of the truck harness plugs and the camera would still work intermittently. Finally i did the one by the emergency brakes. And that was it. Camera works consistently now. I was ready to trade my 2013 f150 truck in for a new truck.😅
I have a 2013 f150 as well and can not find the one by the parking brake. Was it the same in the video?
Thank you so much! It was the plug under the dash save me a lot of headache I appreciate it
Thank you sir! Lucky for me, the first connection under the tailgate did the trick for me! Much appreciated.
Glad it helped!
Thanks for the video, will give it a try. God bless you for making the effort to help others...
Thank you! Best of luck! Let us know how it goes 👍
Thanks for posting this video.
plug next to the parking brake worked on mine. wish i would have seen your video before spending money on a new camera and wire harness… Thank you
Just came across this video I will try this in my 2012 tomorrow! Thanks
I have a 2012, just wondering if it worked for you. thanks
Will be checking these connectors after work today. Thank you for the video amigo!
What were you using to clean the connections? Just brake cleaner?
Electronic cleaner. amzn.to/4bB5REx
Definitely checking under dash on my truck. I kick the parking brake because it doesn't raise up all the way to turn light off on dash.
I've been putting off fixing mine goin straight for that pedal connector on my lunch brake
I'll be trying this tomorrow!
Thanks for making this it helped me a ton…
Thank you, I will check that out
Man thanks a lot that reall helped
I'll try this, mine is blue screening more often not but not always.
Hi. I have the same mirror and had the same problem at the beginning of the video, then the image disappeared completely. I changed the rear camera and the problem remains the same. How can I perform maintenance on the mirror itself? Because the problem is her. Thanks
@@subhirammaha3246 I'm not sure about that one. But the image did go out completely on mine as well. And through plugging and unplugging the series of plugs that I show in the video it did start working again. So it is possible that maybe your mirror still works, it just cuts itself off cuz it's not getting a signal? Let us know what you find out! And thanks for watching!.
@@ThisOldFarmShop Thank you for your kindness in responding. Regarding the connections, there is no problem. Because I put a second mirror and it worked well. The problem is in the mirror itself. If I disassemble it, can it be repaired from the inside? Thanks
@@subhirammaha3246 Hmm. I'm not sure as I haven't gone into one to see what's in there. If you go into it, let us know what you find! 👍 Thank you for watching!
Great video!
Thank you!
What is the spray cleaner you used?
Electronic Cleaner. Here's an Amazon link: amzn.to/43B2P02 Thanks!
What about if the tab isn’t decompressing the plug? The one under my parking brake is my last one to check and it won’t come undone!!!!
Try engaging your parking brake and letting it pop several times when releasing. I've gotten that to temporarily fix mine a few times
@@ThisOldFarmShop thank you!
What did you use to clean the connections?
Contact cleaner... amzn.to/3RxyjQB
Hope it helps!
Would a Ford explorer be similar?
Possibly! Let us know what you find 👍
what are you cleaning with?
CRC Electronic cleaner. amzn.to/45I84vl
Do I need to disconnect my battery before I go forward with cleaning the connectors?
I didn't... But I would say that is always a good idea!!
@@ThisOldFarmShop thanks for getting back to me so quickly. I figured but wasn’t sure, hoping to get this solved tomorrow!
You're most welcome! Let us know how it goes and best of luck!
Do you know where is it located on a f150 2011
I did a little searching and found this. I hope it is helpful
"there is a connector on top of the LF wheel well underneath the brake master cylinder. Then inside the cab on the left side kick panel
Would this be the same on a 150?
Should be similiar... Let us know what you find out! :)
Any idea where the plug by parking brake is on same model f150? Can’t locate it. New harness and camera still a blue screen. TIA

Same scenario....2014...lines across picture....blue screen...and now my image is inverted right to left. How is that even possible?
Wow. Sounds like that issue might be much worse than a loose wire! Let us know what you find!
"Just" unplug and plug back in?? For those of us with big, fat fingers and can't solve a Rubik's cube blindfolded, what the hell's the trick to doing this?
Should be tab on the long edge that can be depressed to release it 👍
Where is this last connection on an f150? I dont see this connection.
I got the same issue I can't find it on mine 🤦♂️
Under the dash by the parking brake
Great video, thanks for posting…
Buenas tardes me compartiria el diagrama de conexión del espejo
Where could it be in my honda pilot 2010😢
I'm not sure :(... You might look around near the camera itself, and also if it's a rear view mirror camera, look around near the rear view mirror for any connectors you can unplug and plug back in. Sorry, I hope you figure it out!!

I didn't see a Chevy anywhere in this video
Stop with the music
Yessir! 👍 I'm learning.
The music's fine. Just do your thing and don't worry what others think.
I check that I just need the shop and the hydraulics 😆
