I subscribed to your channel about a week ago and was an instant fan of yours! Your 3-minute video on how to put the vehicle in maintenance mode was used to educate 2 mechanics and their managers at A1-Auto after they broke my rear caliper trying to put it back on after changing my rear rotors and pads!
Thanks for this. My backup cam wasn’t working. Removed the cable strain through the tailgate and checked the connection on the camera just like you said and it works again.
Regardless of the problem, I always check connections first. A lot of times problems aren't parts. Quite often it's corroded connections or damaged wiring. Thanks for watching and commenting.
My MKZ is doing something similar-making backup motion alerts but the camera works intermittently. I’m going to check all these things before I take it to Ford for them to charge me 189 just to diagnose! Thank you in advance!
Having the same issues and I started at the connection above the spare tire. I separated and cleaned but when I went to put it back together they won’t fully snap in… everything lines up and there are no obstructions. I’ve had several people look at this and nobody can figure it out. I put a zip tie on it for now. Have you seen this before?
I cannot get the connector back together?? The male pins look perfectly straight but the connector seems to stop about an 1/8th inch too short when trying to click it in place. Any ideas why? I cleaned it out with electrical spray too
Is it the same for 2016 ford f150? I have a blue screen and when I move the wire around it turns black with some white lines and comes back on and then turns blue
I have 2012 that the camera isn't working, it was working before I dropped the headliner to change it and reinstalled the headliner and it hasn't worked since. Tried everything in this video and I get nothing lol. Connection at the mirror (the screen is in my mirror) at the camera, the harness under it I feel like the process of elimination leads to camera. Weird thing is I'm not getting nothing on the screen no warning go to dealer sign or anything no blue screen either. Any ideas?
Unfortunately, if it was okay before you dropped the headliner, then I would guess that's where your problem is. Does the cable run over the roof or does it go across the windsheild and down the door jam? Let me know what you find. Thanks for watching.
Shane, I have a 2012 Ecoboost 150 6 cylinder, and the rear camera comes on for a split second then goes dark. Then the sign comes on that there is no signal...thoughts? Just started doing it....
I would check the wiring harness where it runs into the tailgate. It bends a lot and is prone to rubbing. Hope this helps. Let me know what you find. Thanks for watching.
I got the exact same issue, I have a 2017 ford focus LZ titanium hatchback. My reversing camera goes to blue then switches to black screen when I reverse
My 2015 F150 3.7l flex fuel, I have a low break fluid level warning alarm going off constantly but not continuously. The break warning light comes on intermittently and the airbag lite shows the airbag has been disabled since the low brake fluid warning started. I've contacted 2 mechanics who couldn't diagnose the problem. I then took it to the dealership and was told it was the anti-lock braking system module sensor under the steering wheel. The cost is $567.00 on top of the $120 for their diagnosis! Is it possible to avoid the dealership prices by doing it myself?
When you replace most modules, they will need some sort of programming or at the minimum a relearn process. Even if you change it yourself you may still need a shops help. If you get the dealer to change the part they diagnosed, you'll have warranty. If you change it there will be no warranty. Thanks for watching and commenting.
I could use some help. I have a 2016, backup camera was giving a blue screen on and off for a couple weeks, then went totally blue a few months ago. I checked the fuse under the hood, I believe this is the only place for the fuse for this year, backup camera. I think the one under the passenger dash is for the 360 camera which I don’t have. I disconnected the battery for 20 min to reset the system. I blew compressed air in the connection at the driver side kick panel. I blew compressed air in the connection under the rear bumper. I swapped the camera. None of these things worked. The only thing that worked, but only for 5 min, was the first connection right at the camera. I opened it up, it was clean, I blew compressed air in there and reconnected. I put the car in reverse and it was working. I got everything put back into place, screwed everything back together, checked again and it still worked. I went inside, and when I came back out a couple hours later, car just sat in the driveway the whole time, camera was back to a blue screen and I haven’t been able to get it working since. I’m totally frustrated and the dealer has been useless. I think it may be that first pigtail at the camera, maybe a wire got pinched with the opening and closing of the tailgate, although I can’t see anything, or maybe the actual plug/pins went bad. I’m just not a fan of buying part after part in the hopes that it may fix the problem without knowing what the problem is. Any ideas?
@@TheGoldenOnionRingnope. Every forum I ask on, nobody ever replies with other options. I’d like to test/trace the wires so I can figure out where the problem is and know what part to replace, but nobody has given me any tips on doing that either.
Hey I have a 2014 ford F150 with a similar issue here but mine will intermittently not work and work, even within a single day of driving. Where do you think I should start with my trouble shooting? I’m thinking a connection somewhere but would like to see your thoughts on this. Thanks in advance!
Hope you find your problem. I would start at the harness going into the tailgate. It's subject to road spray from back tires and bending from tailgate opening and closing. Let me know what you find. Thanks for watching.
I think what he’s saying is that if it’s a loose wire or an issue with the the wire, you may see physical evidence where he showed, or it isn’t connecting right. Mine is intermittent too.
Has anyone tried to reload the newest version of Sync onto their systems to fix the camera issue? I too have this issue; reloaded the most current sync software; and now it happens less often. (Camera not Available). Wiring is good, connectors are good, camera is good. The only thing not replaced is the APIM.

What kind of fuses are those. Seem a little shorter than your standard fuses?
What can I do if when I put my 2010 ford f150 lariat in reverse and all that is shown is a black screen
Brilliant!
Thank you very much for the great comment and for watching.

Did you get your connector back together? Sometimes the rubber seal comes out of place and gets stuck. Hope it works for you. Thanks for watching.
I just had the same issues press down with your thumb and give it a good try
I changed my fuse that I think was the right one but not sure. The fuse diagram is different
Thanks

Cuál era el problema amigo ?
Connection by the tailgate on this one. Very common to get corroded. Thanks for watching and commenting.

my backup camera screen and the screen in general has lines at the top of the screen both camera and display not sure what to do
Sounds like the screen is faulty if it has lines all of the time. Maybe try a used one?
WHY DOES MY SCREEN SHOW AND THEN GOES BLUE SCREEN 2114 FORD RANGER
Because you're way too far in the future. We can't work on 2114's yet

I did all this and still nothing
I’m dealing with this now myself, the dealer said it could also be something to do with the radio portion as well.
Were you able to get your problem figured out? Hopefully, you can get it figured out before going to the dealer. Keep me posted.
