I was having the issue this video is addressing and I also could not select my monitors native resolution in CRU. I noticed that one of my monitors had a 59.995 hz refresh rate under `Detailed Resolutions`, as opposed to the other's 60hz. I changed it to 60hz, restarted my PC and that was enough to let me select the correct resolution in Nvidia surround. I hope this helps someone!

To anyone who’s running a 8560x1440 setup like I am (16:9 + 21:9 +16:9): The easiest way is to not use Nvidia surround and just run whatever game you’re running in a borderless 8560x1440px window. Most games have a config file that you can find and edit to force the game to run borderless in that resolution. I’ve been able to play destiny 2, forza horizon 5, apex legends, and even older games like need for speed carbon this way.
Awesome fix. I have a 2560x1440p 144hz (main), 1920x1080 144hz and 1920x1080 60 hz monitors. Using this guide i got all my monitors to the same resolution and refresh rates, 1920x1080 60hz for Iracing and Assetto Corsa. It works! i spent a couple hours researching because i just couldnt get the triple monitors to work with/without nvidia surround. I finally stumbled upon this and im soooo happy i did! I then used Helios Display Manager to make switching from my native monitor resolutions to 1080p super easy by just clicking some shortcuts! 30 seconds passes and boom! im in nvidia surround ready to race or back to the native resolutions ready to game! Thank you so much!
This is great if you are using monitors whose resolution can fit into standard resolution. But, what if you have two 4k monitors and you can't add 3840x2160x60 into standard resolution
Did you ever figure out the Display connection error? I am trying to setup a surround display as 1x5 across 2 3070ti cards and it is giving me that error.
Edit: I fixed it. If you're having similar issues. Make sure that your monitors internal aspect ratio is set to full. My was set to dot by dot. That fixed my issue. I hope this helps. I'm using the same type of setup 4k and 2 1080. I go through this process and I'm not having these same issues. However, the end result is the same. Which is that my 4k monitor isn't upscaling. Though, cru says that it supports that resolution. It won't upscale unless I force it too manually. However, when I go to use surround it doesn't stick.

Why can't I create portrait layouts? I have two 22" turned 90 degrees, with a 40" in the middle. But Surround will only work with 'wide' aspect ratios and not tall. I'm looking for 600x1080 on the side screens, and 1920x1080 on the center. Trying to make a cheap truck sim setup.

So basically you are saying: NVIDIA control panel is a complete disaster, since this complete procedure is necessarry, just to link a couple pf screens together, and we even have to use 3rd-Party-Software to make it work.... and that even after shelling out 1.000 Euro or + for the hardware itself?! ..... They are definitely f-ing with us!!! Slowly, I start to hate NVIDIAs guts, simply for having to spend 30min to 1h each single time, just to get the f-ing screens behaving as ONE 😡😡😡😡
This is not a permanent fix. For me, I have 3 displays in a portrait configuration. Just trying to achieve 3240x1920 (27 by 16). It does not matter if I have set all my displays to the same resolution and refresh rate, it does not matter if I use the CRU program as directed... I can get the PhysX Surround set up once and it works fine, but if I restart my PC or my graphics drivers for any reason, it stops working and is stuck permanently on 2304x1024. It won't let me disable surround AT ALL unless I physically disconnect one or 2 of my monitors from my GPU and restart the system/driver yet again. I can't even disable surround when it DOES work properly. I cannot wrap my head around why it's doing this, and I've scoured the internet looking for answers with not even a single other person seeming to have this issue. All I wanted was to play games on multiple monitors, and yet I can't do that because something in my graphics drivers, Windows, or PhysX is entirely broken.
I tried this, and 2560x1440 @120 is listed in detailed resolutions, but NOT in the standard list of resolutions, I could not add it either., I need 2560x1440 for my triple LG 55 OLED set up, any ideas why this little program is not letting me add 2560x1440 (shows red when I try to add)?

@@cedricpolonyi6004 ouch, sorry dude. I fixed my problem far more easy: -Boot into safe mode -set the resolution to very low -uninstall graphic drivers -restart

Appreciate the video, was not my issue however all my monitors have a standard resolution and for a UW monitor it won't have a native resolution in that spot. I am trying to get 2 16:9 monitors working with a 21:9 monitor in the center as one single surround setup and I have never had it working despite support for mixed resolution monitors is supposed to work. I am going to try my best to use CRU tonight and give it one last go to get it working and if not probably ordering 3x Samsung Neo G8 tonight to replace my current setup.

Surround stopped working for me after 466, 11520x2160 no longer displayed as a available resolution, all 3 of my monitors are crystal pros from monoprice, but were purchased at different times, apparently the oldest monitor displays a different refresh rate compared to the other two, once I set the same refresh for all 3, I was able to use 11520x2160 again on driver 511. I've been searching high and low, and sadly there appears to be no way to make a 2 screen custom resolution, seems that everything has to have the same resolution. I am trying to achieve a 2k square, by having a 2560x1080 staked on top os a 2560x1440 to get a final result of a 2560x2520 resolution. But nothing seems to help me do that.

i dont have any Display options in my Control Panel, cant find a fix. Reinstalled drivers, reinstalled control Panel, unpluged monitors but nothing works. Also tried deactivating and reactivating the Graphics card with pc restarts in between steps
i ran into a weird issue for most of the things it didn't work like if i maximize any window it just full screen the window in any monitor leaving some space in every direction
my monitor is 2560x1440 so i can't fully use this fix. then i tried to make a resolution of regular 1080p for it but that didn't do anything either. it still has the 4x3 preview and a single tiny surround resolution.

My laptop is connected to my tv with an HDMI cable and now the tv and the laptom are showing different things. Can anybody tell me how to reset this to default so that both the laptop and the tv would show the same thing? Thank you
Hey @TroubleChute, maybe a stupid question: I am playing on a MSI GE72 2QC Apache with an extra screen connected to it. Now I want to use both the extra screen and my laptop screen to have a 2 screen config. But my NVIDIA control panel doesn't show any display or video settings, nor the surround settings. Any tips on how to cope with this (and if what I want is even possible)? Thanks!
@TroubleChute I have a problem with the computer I think, I get into some game, and the game instead of putting it on the first screen it puts it on the second screen and you can't bring the game back to the first screen you know how to fix it ??
@@TroubleChute The first screen is main and change, window and after that return to fullscreen it does not work, I do it it returns it to the second screen.
12 21 2021 I have tried many thing and am getting really ( censored ) I just used DDU and unplugged my internet and it still will only allow my RTX 2080Ti to only use 2 of 3 screens and resolution is not 5760 x 1080 and I am lost. I spent 3 days trying to get this to work any changes i made in cru would make make the screens start flashing and had to go into recovery mode what fixed it was disable G-sync in nvidia then in the top box of cru under detailed resolutions copy the manual timings to all 3 monitors so they are identical and change the refresh rate on all 3 to desired refresh rate has worked perfectly since
Same... I was pulling my hair out trying all sorts due to changing one monitor which was a different brand but compatible spec. Tried this method, tried rolling back drivers to eventually spot this comment and thought "Nah, surely not"... But yep that fixed it -.-

Never works for me, I have Samsung G7 for centre panel 240hz 1440 and two MSI 165 hz 1440 on the sides, the 1x2 topology allows me to use the 1440 resolution but 1x3 topology only allows 5780 x 1080 @ 60Hz.
Same exact problem here, I have 3 2560x1440 monitors. Surround locks me to 5780x1080 and it looks bad. I would like the 7680x1440 res. Did you ever manage to fix it?

@@hazzardgaming405 yo i did find a solution because i was having the same problem if you are curious: don't use CRU at all, go to nvidia control and create a custom resolution. Make the custom res the same as your native res EXCEPT change the hz to max minus 1 (it won't let you create the custom res otherwise since it thinks its a duplicate) and set the timing mode to manual. Take note of all the timings in a txt file or something. Now hit apply and do the same thing with your other monitors, except in the timings menu you have to change the timings to all match the first monitor exactly. Hit apply on all of them and make sure they are active, and to confirm all your monitors should all be the same res and same timings and same hz, but hz should be 1 less than max. Now go to surround and enable, hit apply, and then set up a bezel on the right side (idt it matters what you set it to, you can adjust it later) and hit apply again. Now, in the extra resolutions button next to the res in the center panel it should have your true native surround res as an option. I really hope this works for you man it felt like black magic trying to finagle this, good luck!!
so the issue im having is when surround is enabled is that when maximizing any app it only sticks to one display acting like a single monitor but the rest of the desktop is showing as 1 monitor i want my 3 monitors to maximize any app across all 3 and not get stuck to maximizing to one screen any help would be appreciated

Hi, I have a 21:9 2560x1080 Monitor and two 1920x1080 monitors. I hoped i could trick nvdia with that programm so i can have different resolutions and use nvidia surround. But my 21:9 monitors resolution is not shown in the tv resolutions, its just 1920x1080. do you know why the resolutiopn is not shown? ive tried to add the resolution but then the screen just stays black...

That's because you have 1560x1440 in the mix. The solution here is only for 3 monitors with the same resolution when nvidia doesn't detect the EDID info. If you want to run asymmetrical surround you will need to swap GPU to ATI or if you want to stick with nvidia you will need to swap the center monitor to 1920x1080 to match the rest of it. Otherwise I don't know any way how you could make it work
So here was my fix. I am running a dell 2k monitor. This didn’t work for me either and after pulling my hair out I was at this point too. Digging through the user manual of my monitor I discovered that through DisplayPort my monitor doesn’t support 1920x1080, but through hdmi it did. Connected via hdmi and I was in business. May be too late, but hopefully can help someone else down the road.
@TroubleChute , I have a setup of 3 screens, one 2560x1440 165Hz and two 1920x1080 144Hz, my question is if its possible to get my 1080's up to 1440 and run surround? I've tried setting a custom resolution at 2560x1440 for these screens through nvidia which works.
I have the same setup. Whenever I do want to use surround, which isn't often, I drop my 1440p screen to 1080. I haven't tried using a higher res on my other monitors.

nvidia sorround is the most brokem thing I've ever seen even more broken than windows HDR which is impossiable.

This really helped me out. Had a triple Monitor 1080p setup and the aspect ratio went 16:10 as soon as I activated Nvidia Surround. Well, not anymore!

i have 2560x1440 and 2x 1920x1080 all 27" and that didnt help
why can I not 120 or 144hz triple monitor? all of my screens are set to 1920x1080 with 144hz but PhysX only pops up as 60hz max.
Doesnt help for two 4K 120Hz Screens. They dont fit into standard resolutions with CRU... Is there any workaround for this issue?

Well I ended up breaking a cable. After buying a new one, and trying to set up surround again, it now no longer displays the higher resolution...

Hey @TroubleChute, maybe a stupid question: I am playing on a MSI GE72 2QC Apache with an extra screen connected to it. Now I want to use both the extra screen and my laptop screen to have a 2 screen config. But my NVIDIA control panel doesn't show any display or video settings, nor the surround settings. Any tips on how to cope with this (and if what I want is even possible)? Thanks!

@TroubleChute I have a problem with the computer I think, I get into some game, and the game instead of putting it on the first screen it puts it on the second screen and you can't bring the game back to the first screen you know how to fix it ??
In Windows settings you can choose a main display. That should fix it. Otherwise make it windowed, move it and then go full screen again
@@TroubleChute The first screen is main and change, window and after that return to fullscreen it does not work, I do it it returns it to the second screen.

I just used DDU and unplugged my internet and it still will only
allow my RTX 2080Ti to only use 2 of 3 screens and resolution
is not 5760 x 1080 and I am lost. This happened in the past
and at 66 I cant remember how I did it.

Everything went black.
I spent 3 days trying to get this to work any changes i made in cru would make make the screens start flashing and had to go into recovery mode what fixed it was disable G-sync in nvidia then in the top box of cru under detailed resolutions copy the manual timings to all 3 monitors so they are identical and change the refresh rate on all 3 to desired refresh rate has worked perfectly since

Same... I was pulling my hair out trying all sorts due to changing one monitor which was a different brand but compatible spec. Tried this method, tried rolling back drivers to eventually spot this comment and thought "Nah, surely not"... But yep that fixed it -.-

Should try this again, I have one 34” 3440*1440 and two 27” 2560*1440 but can’t make it work. I been watching the video you linked to also but I haven’t tried this enough I guess. If anyone have solved this please reach out and point me in the right direction. 😅

Never works for me, I have Samsung G7 for centre panel 240hz 1440 and two MSI 165 hz 1440 on the sides, the 1x2 topology allows me to use the 1440 resolution but 1x3 topology only allows 5780 x 1080 @ 60Hz.
Same exact problem here, I have 3 2560x1440 monitors. Surround locks me to 5780x1080 and it looks bad. I would like the 7680x1440 res. Did you ever manage to fix it?
@@minecrafter4623 nope I never fixed it which now thinking about it depresses me, I really did wanna play this resolution but instead I have all these monitors for just extra tabs and discord. I did try multiple methods but nothing I attempted worked. Good luck to you.

@@hazzardgaming405 yo i did find a solution because i was having the same problem if you are curious:
don't use CRU at all, go to nvidia control and create a custom resolution. Make the custom res the same as your native res EXCEPT change the hz to max minus 1 (it won't let you create the custom res otherwise since it thinks its a duplicate) and set the timing mode to manual. Take note of all the timings in a txt file or something. Now hit apply and do the same thing with your other monitors, except in the timings menu you have to change the timings to all match the first monitor exactly. Hit apply on all of them and make sure they are active, and to confirm all your monitors should all be the same res and same timings and same hz, but hz should be 1 less than max. Now go to surround and enable, hit apply, and then set up a bezel on the right side (idt it matters what you set it to, you can adjust it later) and hit apply again. Now, in the extra resolutions button next to the res in the center panel it should have your true native surround res as an option. I really hope this works for you man it felt like black magic trying to finagle this, good luck!!

so the issue im having is when surround is enabled is that when maximizing any app it only sticks to one display acting like a single monitor but the rest of the desktop is showing as 1 monitor i want my 3 monitors to maximize any app across all 3 and not get stuck to maximizing to one screen any help would be appreciated
That's awesome. How do you remove the GIGANTIC number on the monitor? The "1" "2" and "3". Can't play with that on the screen.

how to get 1440? I've got 3 monitors(32inch) but Nvidia surround has only 5760 x 1080 ..CRU dosen't work.If I try to fix by using CRU,My monitors goes blackout.

Hi, I have a 21:9 2560x1080 Monitor and two 1920x1080 monitors. I hoped i could trick nvdia with that programm so i can have different resolutions and use nvidia surround. But my 21:9 monitors resolution is not shown in the tv resolutions, its just 1920x1080. do you know why the resolutiopn is not shown? ive tried to add the resolution but then the screen just stays black...
Of course it was was 2560x1080 at 60Hz and 120Hz and 144Hz so the resolution i use when im just playing on one monitor so he supports it

Have you activated the DSR factor in the Manage 3D settings panel ?
That's because you have 1560x1440 in the mix. The solution here is only for 3 monitors with the same resolution when nvidia doesn't detect the EDID info. If you want to run asymmetrical surround you will need to swap GPU to ATI or if you want to stick with nvidia you will need to swap the center monitor to 1920x1080 to match the rest of it. Otherwise I don't know any way how you could make it work

So here was my fix. I am running a dell 2k monitor. This didn’t work for me either and after pulling my hair out I was at this point too. Digging through the user manual of my monitor I discovered that through DisplayPort my monitor doesn’t support 1920x1080, but through hdmi it did. Connected via hdmi and I was in business. May be too late, but hopefully can help someone else down the road.
@TroubleChute , I have a setup of 3 screens, one 2560x1440 165Hz and two 1920x1080 144Hz, my question is if its possible to get my 1080's up to 1440 and run surround?
I've tried setting a custom resolution at 2560x1440 for these screens through nvidia which works.
I have the same setup. Whenever I do want to use surround, which isn't often, I drop my 1440p screen to 1080. I haven't tried using a higher res on my other monitors.
