      Shay la Saying at least you could actually hear a sneeze. Her little sniveling is nothing in a hustle and bustle kitchens (I would know as a chef) 10 people in one kitchen, even if you’re right next to them you can’t hear anything because of fans, stoves, and ovens. It was a complete excuse.

    I don't get all the presentation BS on these cooking shows. I've eaten at a billion high end restaurants - I've never cared how a plate looks - just how the food tastes. Please tell me someone else is like me...?

    • @beachmasterX
      @beachmasterX 4 ปีที่แล้ว +9

      I've eaten at quite a few, presentation is a part of it but you're right it's more about quality and taste

    • @hanatemonstas4485
      @hanatemonstas4485 4 ปีที่แล้ว +13

      Nimesh Shah there is a video series that takes food from fast food places, sets up with some fancy presentation, and serves the food as such to high class people. They seem to be completely unaware of this and believe that it is fancy food. If they serve the same food in its original wrappings, they say it tastes different. That is not to say taste or quality doesnt play a big role either. But our perception and expectations does play a role in how good food tastes. Even if there is no actual difference to the ingredients
      That being said, at least on MC, I can almost never tell when a food is poorly plated or done nicely. Like 3:02 outside the dish itself being dirty, I didnt see anything wrong with the presentation. The circular design of the vegetables, the star shape with the peas, the sheen on the meat in the centre, the colour coordination, that dish looked fancy to me

      In the grand scheme of things, presentation means nothing. But in a competition like this, its meant to test all of your skills
      Edit: Although tbh, the other Masterchef competitions dont care about plating as much as New Zealand seems to. These guys are just more strict I guess

      Eh, When I think of New Zealand I think of Rugby, walking barefoot everywhere, amazing birdlife, maori culture infusing everything, beautiful landscapes, the Waitomo Caves and glowworms, friendly people, the haka, even sheep and LotR. When I think of New Zealand the one thing I do not think of is "tribal tattoos".
