Do you think the new seats are worth the price increase compared to last years normal seats? The price for the 2021 in the US is about 33,000 and it seems like the only difference between 2021 and 2020 are the new seats and the fact that they are heated. I'm not sure it's worth it. Thanks!

As someone who has been saving for a new car for the past two and a half years after college, the Veloster N DCT coming out hits all the correct notes for someone like me who needs a car that can commute, but on the weekends can go for drives around some of the more hilly areas here in Canada and enjoy myself.

@@elierh442 I hear ya brother. A few years back I test drove both the VW GTI DSG and manual, and I bought the manual. The automatic was just not as fun or engaging/involving for me. The manual Veloster N is so easy to drive even in traffic. I recommend test driving both before you buy.
Just saw all the comments by people wanting to get this car and I say DO IT! I've had the manual for over a year and I still have a blast every time I get in. I even still watch videos on it, even though I'm not going to buy the DCT model. I grew up driving a stick and although the robot can shift faster than I, he doesn't feel the soul of my car like I do, lol. To each his own I say, but it is a great car, the funnest I have ever owned, hands down. Great review!!!

Hyundai and KIA continue to knock the ball out of the park. The same can be said of this channel. :) Like many Americans I'm disappointed that we don't get the i30N in North America but if one is looking for a track tool, the Veloster N offers a compelling value proposition. The "Save the Manuals" crowd will dismiss the DSG version but there's no question that it has an advantage in terms of straight line acceleration. I drive a GTI with a DSG. When I bought a MK6 version it was the first time in many decades of driving that I didn't have an MT vehicle in my garage. When I traded it for a MK7.5 GTI I didn't even consider a manual transmission version. VW's superb dual clutch gives me the best of both worlds, holding a gear all the way to redline in manual mode when I prefer it and much more relaxed driving in heavy traffic. I won't be trading my GTI for a Veloster. It would be like trading my faithful dog for a new model and I appreciate the more upscale interior of my GTI to the Veloster. But I can certainly appreciate the appeal of the Veloster N, especially with a DSG.

This car was fun testing at CPG. Still running tests. I believe I saw you here at CPG. I have a 2013 Kia Sportage I bought new in 2013 and paid off in 18 months. It still runs great at over 161,000 miles. I;m gonna keep it.

I’m jealous! It looks like you’re having an absolute blast! Very tempting to trade my 2016 Rally edition in on one. I love my manual trans but if this trans is as good as the VW DSG than I could probably be persuaded.
As an owner of a VW DSG Golf, and a hardcore manual guy (only bought the DSG for financial reasons, should’ve stayed with the manual), the Hyundai DCT has one major advantage over the VW DSG, the Hyundai DCT actually holds gears in manual mode and only shifts when the DRIVER tells it to, the VW DSG will automatically upshift at redline in manual mode
@@MacTechG4 Right on. Manual all the way. Sure DSG and DCT have lightening fast gear changes, but nothing is more satisfying than nailing a slick gear change in a true manual transmission. It shows real drivers skill. A manual shift with a DSG / DCT takes no skill at all.

In the US the best acceleration it did with a manual, was a 1/4 mile in 13.9 at 102 mph. With the DCT and overboost it should probably do a 13.5-13.6 at about 104 mph

No question the Civic Type R is a beast and fast...but I keep on imagining a 19 year old, greasy-haired pimple-faced person who just came out amped after watching another Fast & Furious movie.. Veloster styling is more my flavor.... LOVE that powder blue.. and the DCT is going to bring in a LOT more buyers. Those seats are insane too...and the lighted up N badge is pretty trick. Nice, hope they bring all those options to America. Our current Veloster N don’t have some of the equipment that they give our buddies up north in Canada!! Lane keep rear cross traffic alert would be nice. I’m a big Hyundai fanboy. Sold them for 5 years before retiring from the car business. I sold high end luxury car’s for 20 years before I moved to Hyundai. Hyundai really impressed me, when they 1st came to the US they were not so good (to say it nicely!). I bought my wife a 2015 Elantra Limited before I retired. It has been a perfect car. All I have done is regular maintenance such as oil & filter changes new front breaks main battery and a set of tires at just under 60K miles!! Love my Hyundai, and this coming from a guy who said I’d never ever buy a new car, after seeing for my self what happens to their value after a few years! Very few people are happy with their trade value when they buy a new car!! Luckily I worked for some really good dealers in the Chicago market! My CSI was in the high 90% bracket over my entire career. I treated my customers like they were my family!!! I’ll be looking to replace my 2015 with the new Hyundai 8 speed DCT In the Veloster or Sonata. I really like the new dual injection their putting in the new motor in the new Sonata!! But the Veloster has been in my dreams since I drove at its introduction. What a disappointment in the sales department!! Putting it on the accent platform was the only mistake! Moving it to the Elantra Sport platform was what it needed!

I drive Hyundai's for dealer trades in Canada. I've driven the Vekoster N a few times and the 8 spd paddle has yet to arrive but the 6 spd manual is loads of fun especially in N mode. I like the white, it gets a lot more attention than the blue. My only complaint is the wheel design. Needs to be meaner. There might be optional rims. Great review man.

I seen them all in person except for the red, and for me I think the Black hands down looks the best, then between the grey and white. I understand going with the racing blue as it is the N's signature color and it definitely stands out on the road as special. But the Black one just shows off with those red accents and looks super aggressive in person
Bought my N new two months ago. After seeing all the new features coming I feel like i got robbed. I would still get the stick but a dct will make for a much wider audience who can enjoy this car. Just wish I got the alcantara seats with the illuminated N logos. The one major complaint I have about the current U.S market N is the seats feel very delicate. Great review, looking forward to trading mine for the 2021 when it lands here!

Bought a Veloster Turbo manual when they were first launched. Fun little ride....would love to have had this instead though! Now I'm in a M240i, it's a completely different ball game.
Awesome car, the 8 speed DCT shifts very fast and aggressive, also the downshifts and the pops and bangs when you let off the gas is amazing... However I noticed the high beam is only Halogen and the Indicators as well (LED would be much better), which is pretty old fashioned... Nevertheless I will be excited when we see this DCT working in the i20 N, i30 N Facelift and Kona N in Germany (which is currently being tested in these models on the Nürburgring)
Im a manual guy, but driving manual in the city is like hell. This DCT is a really good option. But I’d switch its exhaust for the manual version one. The manual’s exhaust is better and has more pops

With the DCT, it should be much faster. Usually, when a car is down on power comparing to its competitors, a DCT does help. But in this case, it does not help with a 5.6 sec 0 to 60. Don't know why. But it does sound good.

This car was fun testing at CPG. Still running tests. I believe I saw you here at CPG. I have a 2013 Kia Sportage I bought new in 2013 and paid off in 18 months. It still runs great at over 161,000 miles. I;m gonna keep it.

I’m jealous! It looks like you’re having an absolute blast! Very tempting to trade my 2016 Rally edition in on one. I love my manual trans but if this trans is as good as the VW DSG than I could probably be persuaded.
YEs, i had too much fun with this Veloster N. IT's really good.
As an owner of a VW DSG Golf, and a hardcore manual guy (only bought the DSG for financial reasons, should’ve stayed with the manual), the Hyundai DCT has one major advantage over the VW DSG, the Hyundai DCT actually holds gears in manual mode and only shifts when the DRIVER tells it to, the VW DSG will automatically upshift at redline in manual mode
@@MacTechG4 Right on. Manual all the way. Sure DSG and DCT have lightening fast gear changes, but nothing is more satisfying than nailing a slick gear change in a true manual transmission. It shows real drivers skill. A manual shift with a DSG / DCT takes no skill at all.

In the US the best acceleration it did with a manual, was a 1/4 mile in 13.9 at 102 mph. With the DCT and overboost it should probably do a 13.5-13.6 at about 104 mph

No question the Civic Type R is a beast and fast...but I keep on imagining a 19 year old, greasy-haired pimple-faced person who just came out amped after watching another Fast & Furious movie.. Veloster styling is more my flavor.... LOVE that powder blue.. and the DCT is going to bring in a LOT more buyers. Those seats are insane too...and the lighted up N badge is pretty trick. Nice, hope they bring all those options to America. Our current Veloster N don’t have some of the equipment that they give our buddies up north in Canada!! Lane keep rear cross traffic alert would be nice. I’m a big Hyundai fanboy. Sold them for 5 years before retiring from the car business. I sold high end luxury car’s for 20 years before I moved to Hyundai. Hyundai really impressed me, when they 1st came to the US they were not so good (to say it nicely!). I bought my wife a 2015 Elantra Limited before I retired. It has been a perfect car. All I have done is regular maintenance such as oil & filter changes new front breaks main battery and a set of tires at just under 60K miles!! Love my Hyundai, and this coming from a guy who said I’d never ever buy a new car, after seeing for my self what happens to their value after a few years! Very few people are happy with their trade value when they buy a new car!! Luckily I worked for some really good dealers in the Chicago market! My CSI was in the high 90% bracket over my entire career. I treated my customers like they were my family!!! I’ll be looking to replace my 2015 with the new Hyundai 8 speed DCT In the Veloster or Sonata. I really like the new dual injection their putting in the new motor in the new Sonata!! But the Veloster has been in my dreams since I drove at its introduction. What a disappointment in the sales department!! Putting it on the accent platform was the only mistake! Moving it to the Elantra Sport platform was what it needed!

I drive Hyundai's for dealer trades in Canada. I've driven the Vekoster N a few times and the 8 spd paddle has yet to arrive but the 6 spd manual is loads of fun especially in N mode. I like the white, it gets a lot more attention than the blue. My only complaint is the wheel design. Needs to be meaner. There might be optional rims.

You do get the 7-speed DCT in the Forte GT but no LSD...major bummer compared to its competition like the GLI & Civic Si that do have it

I seen them all in person except for the red, and for me I think the Black hands down looks the best, then between the grey and white. I understand going with the racing blue as it is the N's signature color and it definitely stands out on the road as special. But the Black one just shows off with those red accents and looks super aggressive in person

Bought my N new two months ago. After seeing all the new features coming I feel like i got robbed. I would still get the stick but a dct will make for a much wider audience who can enjoy this car. Just wish I got the alcantara seats with the illuminated N logos. The one major complaint I have about the current U.S market N is the seats feel very delicate. Great review, looking forward to trading mine for the 2021 when it lands here!

Awesome car, the 8 speed DCT shifts very fast and aggressive, also the downshifts and the pops and bangs when you let off the gas is amazing...
However I noticed the high beam is only Halogen and the Indicators as well (LED would be much better), which is pretty old fashioned...
Nevertheless I will be excited when we see this DCT working in the i20 N, i30 N Facelift and Kona N in Germany (which is currently being tested in these models on the Nürburgring)
i20 N: 1.6 Liter petrol engine with 204 PS! Same engine as the one in the Kia Ceed GT!

Im a manual guy, but driving manual in the city is like hell. This DCT is a really good option. But I’d switch its exhaust for the manual version one. The manual’s exhaust is better and has more pops

I sure hope the American market will have this n in auto. I really need a new daily driver and this def makes it 10x more fun. I think Hyundai still gets a bad rep, but clearly very legit now vs before. The veloster is so unique and I love hatches, I really like it.

With the DCT, it should be much faster. Usually, when a car is down on power comparing to its competitors, a DCT does help. But in this case, it does not help with a 5.6 sec 0 to 60. Don't know why. But it does sound good.
