Exactly Auston. You see a lot of people on that beach because it is a holiday. Daaah. That is what we've been trying to tell you. You can't go to the beach in Kenya on a weekday during working hours, on a regular day not even a weekend or a holiday, and expect to see people. That's just crazy. People have other more important things to do dude. lolest. You said it yourself that in Senegal they are celebrating a holiday. No wonder there are people in the beach. That's very normal. Same as Kenya and many other African countries.
Check if Senegalese wrestling is happening
As a Kenyan 🇰🇪 we lov Senegal they are our Africa football champions😊😊
We love yall too brother im from Senegal I’ll will visit Kenya 🇰🇪 soon if you up there let’s link up 👌🏿
I'm Kenyan. Dakar looks so beautiful to me. A very different vibe to Kenya.
I'd wish to visit Dakar as well. Beautiful country, West Afrikan vibe steeped in history and modernism ❤💯.
WOW...AS A KENYAN I MUST SAY I'M IMPRESSED WITH SENEGAL.....IY LOOKS SOOO BEAUTIFUL..THAT VIEW AT THE TOP OF THE MONUMENT WAS SOOOOO BEAUTIFUL..THAN KS FOR TAKING THAT SHOT...AFRICA IS BEAUTY
It's beautiful out there in Senegal. I haven't been back for two years. I'll be soon
hakuna.. kunakaa githu
@@elizabethiradukunda1950😂😂😂😂😂😂 unachoma naniii
@@elizabethiradukunda1950😅😅😅. The more I see these conbtries, the more I appreciate Kenya/Nairobi. Dakar gives me Eastleigh vibes. Built up but lacking in infrastructure.
@@elizabethiradukunda1950umeanua kuongea ukweli😂
awesome. i feel like I'm touring the whole continent of Africa through your videos, keep up the good work.
No he is going to some rather interesting places. I wonder if that is due to monetary constraints 😅😅😅
@@eagle_eye7734 of course and he needs to finish that to settle in a place and live his life he will not do that his whole life if I understand well what he said in a podcast. But yeah of course if he had a lot of money he could have editors and stuff also he doesnt have time to create like a documentary that's not the point the point is : I am US guy , the women there want to make me feel like I am crazy so I am out and discovering the world here is my camera you can see a bit of my adventures. aannnd that's it . That's interesting enough for me. Also he is funny.
@@eagle_eye7734 I know what you mean 🤣🤣🤣
Me too my brother Auston is the man fr I appreciate what he does fr ❤️💯
I’m interested on this man’s take on Senegal since it’s my favorite African country.
Thanks from sénégal 👌
Senegalese people are known for being friendly, humble like east africans
Self glorification is what I call it.
That monument is really nice, very imposing and to imagine that it is the museum inside the sculpture, genius. All in all, I can say Dakar reminds me of Eastleigh neighbourhood in Nairobi, heavily built up but lacking a bit in infrastructure. Looking forward to the rest of the Dakar series and the Francophone heritage left by the French in Dakar.
As a Senegalese im quite embarrassed by how they "scammed" you with the prices, you really need an honest guide that will help you navigate through those prices
When I visited Gambia for the first time. I went to the beach. The sand is beautiful. The view is beautiful as well. Everyone is at peace.
Beautiful country and people, bless up
I heard of you previously but didn’t truly start watching your channel until the appearance on Kendra G. I’m so happy to have found your channel and glad to see a young brother out here doing his thing. This is a wonderful video. Keep up the good work and enjoy your journey. ❤
Auston, if you happen to go to the Ivory Coast, make sure you get a SIM card at the airport so that you can have internet connection right away. There should a couple of guys walking around and selling them. It costs about 2,000cfa which is about $4. In the meantime, have fun in Dakar.
Even in Uganda 🇺🇬. Surprised that he couldn't get any because of the holiday!
Your best video. Keep showing historical places and things.
The artwork the memorial to Africans globally who has made great changes did it for me. It hit a nerve I didn't know Senegalese renaissance included us from the diaspora like this.
Great video🔥, lots of information and I enjoyed the background music 🤓! Be blessed 🙏🏾
Appreciate what youre doing l, I definitely got a good sense of the vibe of the city
Great video🔥
Yes bro we love to see the museum and those historical sites.
I like the museum bit of the video. Excellent video Austin
Great content. Can’t wait to see more of Senegal.
Good stuff. Keep it coming.....,
Dope! You the man Broski!💯💪🏾
I love the museum tours!
Im Kenyan and i already love love Senegal it has a coastal vibe that i absolutely love! The downside I wish I knew more french. Please check the regulations for customs you might be shocked you might not be allowed to carry sea shells😂happens when traveling with SGR from Mombasa to Nairobi
French won’t be so important in the future. English and Chinese
@@victormuhammad1393 I see French speaking countries continuing with the French...no doubt
They have the best jollof. Thanks for showing us Africa!
That food looked delicious!! Best food have seen so far in the whole of Africa
I’m stunned! This is a phenomenal video of Dakar and the statue. This is definitely on the bucket list for sure now. Thank you so much 🎉
Much love Auston don't forget to go Gambia too pls 💞
Austin, I spent a year in Dakar and I enjoyed it. Best clubs and bars in Les Almondes. NIce ocean front hotels, restaurants. and a mall on the Corniche. History is everywhere, but Im glad that you made it to Goree Island...
Really enjoyed this video Auston keep it up!
33:24 Beach topic : Austin as a big traveler myself I've also noticed that beach culture is not so widespread in most African countries except few of them like Senegal, Cap Vert and some others. Just like you, I was kind of wondering why is that and when I got to know people better and also elders taht really had some deep knowledge I've learn that most of the traditional tales that were passed on generations to generations talked about superstitious stories about the ocean. That's when it gets very interesting cause very old people told me that most of the stories about people not coming back from the ocean are metaphors about Slavery when Ancestors were kidnapped and taken to the sea and never return ! Most young people don't really know where they got that tradition from and some who knows out of decency won't tell you and will find some light deflection to not tell. This was me sharing what I've learned when bonding with people across the Continent. Peace and keep spreading those good vibes and videos bro
Amazing museum!
I heard Senegal have the best tastiest foods and Jollof originates from senegal.
Seems chill so far. Definitely keep vids like this going 🔥💯
Thanks!
Try a dish called Thieboudienne....hands down my favorite Senegalese dish.
It’s very hot in my country during summer time. It’s the Magal holiday on 9/4. Once everyone comes back in town, you’ll be shocked about the traffic in Dakar.
Please watch out for your phone.
Wow! This was so beautifully artistic and representative. Thanks for sharing. ❤That statue kind of reminds me of being at the top of the Eiffel Tower.
Thank you so much!
I am really enjoying your adventures in Africa. Thank you for showing these beautiful countries like Senegal.
You take me back home brother it’s been a min I didn’t go back home ,god bless you for those free fresh images you given us every time u in our beautiful land bless
Great vlog man!
Great content
I appreciate your posts. Thank you, Mr Holleman.
Love your content Auston you so mature for your age . Be glad you getting all this experience when i come to Kenya I gotta meet you young blood . Im born in Kenya and a US Citizen; cant wait to meet you. Keep up with the good work. One more thing stop giving your haters any time of day. Let them hate dont respond to them when you respond make you weak just like Jay Z don't respond to any kind of beef .
wonderful video
I want to see more of the content like the statue and historical things!
Oh mine…Auston. People swim in the ocean at many beaches in Ghana…Volta, Central, and Western regions beaches. Even Bojo beach outside Accra you will see people swimming and many umbrellas.
Enjoy it 🎊
Love it show more of west Africa
Senegal for sure is beautiful,😍much love from kenya 🇰🇪🇰🇪🇰🇪
Beautiful place.
In Ghana on Sunday is beach day, everyone goes to the beach and it’s a big party from morning till night. So, next time when you go, visit it on a Sunday. You won’t be disappointed ❤
know this and know peace, Ghana is not a "beach" kinda country na mongyae saa ne beach beach nsem no.
The outfit 👌while you picking up the sea shells got a peak of the pants and shoes 🔥
Can’t wait to see you in Southern Africa: Angola, Botswana, Namibia, Mozambique and South Africa ! 💪
Senegal looks warm and nice..Would for sure love to see the slavew dungeons there..Never been to Ghana but seen the ones there from videos on the internet..Enjoy ur stay there..
Hit me up when you want to visit Ghana very beautiful here and would help you with visa on arrival and yellow fever shot as I did for Auston
The beach on Sali, Senegal is beautiful! It’s more tropical and relaxed. I wish you could go there. The beach in Simon is beautiful as well. ❤
There’s almost no infrastructure in Senegal(except historic sites) built by the French, all these modern infrastructure is Senegalese work
Mind you the place where you are staying was a village not even that long ago, like 70/80s it was and still called “Ngor village” in the latest years they built so many buildings and are still building it.
The music is on point😎🔥🔥
I feel motivated when i see my brother's living their best lives✌🏾🖤
I love your channel young man. My son is your age. I wish he would travel like you do..
💗💖💝❤❤❤❤❤ Loving it I'm so jealous I love Senegal

Try Senegalese Jollof! You must try it. That's the region it originated from.
13:00 the famous KMT ( Kiss my teeth in english ) and Tchip in french :)
What a good museum
Austin, you should go to Cape Verde' next, since you're already near. You can use your Portugues.
Why would he do that it’s all about Africa with this journey haven’t you been listening 🤦🏾♂️🚶🏾♂️
@@maradonapierre7282 - YOU must not have been listening. His journey is about [world] travel. He's going to a few more African countries (I suggest Cape Verde'), and back to Central and South America. Then, he's going to settle back in Kenya permanently. Your comment was unnecessary.
@@maradonapierre7282lol Cabo Verde is Afrique
@@maradonapierre7282Are you suggesting that Cape Verde is not Africa?
@@maradonapierre7282Cape Verde are actually a set of African islands.
❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤ Finally made it to my second home. Welcome to the most peaceful nation on earth❤❤❤❤❤❤
You can go to the historic Ngor island not far from where you're staying at downtown Dakar the almadie main road and the almadie corniche with a lots of clubs and restaurants the outdoor gym in corniche west neighborhood the village artisanal the kermel market
Welcome home
Go to Ivory Coast Abidjan afterwards, I wanna see it before I travel there
Senegalese food is top 10 in the world as a food critic.
Ghana has amazing jungle foods, and soups.
Ethiopia has enjera & different spices & best coffee types.
Ivory Coast,Senegal has a mix of Black French, black Arab & west African food.
South Africa has unique food blends.
Mozambique,Trinidad,Brazil, & Jamaica has that mix of African,Carrib,Spanish, foods.
China has those black Chinese recipes. Only they poach foods too.
Southern Black American food with Creole,Geeche,Memphis BBQ, You already know soul food.
These are the top 10.. foodies all over the world say the same thing. Mark Weins loves Africa,Jamaica,Brazil,Trinidad, and Thai/China food.
Honorable mention black Arab foods are soon good too. Gyros,falafel,kabobs,etc...
Black Italy has pizza,pastas,etc...
Hey Auston make sure you try Senegal Jelof and give us the feedback pls
Bonjour! Bonne arrivée au Senégal 🙋🏽🇸🇳🇸🇳🇸🇳
I was in Plateaux Dakar, good restaurants, good food, go by Kaisers by the presidential Palace.
Food in Senegal is the BOMB, night life would be a cool video as well
Of course. Even tho I hate calling this but francophone African countries have thr best food. Don't come at me lol
I haven't tasted it yet but I agree. Mark Wiens really did an amazing job showing us Senegalese food
Try to hook up with RJ Mahdi. Look him up. You kind of resemble him a little bit. He will make your visit to Dakar very enjoyable. I think you should interview him. Also, it was not fried banana but fried plantain instead. They look alike but plantain is bigger and it is not a fruit. You can't it it raw. You got to cook it. This is what fufu is made of in Ghana and other part of west and central Africa. The fried plantain is delicious. One last thing. They have beaches in Dakar where you can exercice for free as if you were in the gym. They have all the equipment outdoirs on the beach and folks just jog and exercice on the beach. I know you will like it. Miss Trudy had a video exercicing on one of those beaches.
The night life starts super late in Senegal , like 12-1am in the morning and they usual end when the sun comes up.
Nice footage…seem like you’re more at peace than you were in Ghana
Not true! Why put down Ghana?
Did someone beat him in Ghana??? Why all this hate? Wether you like or dislike Ghana ranked first most diasporas visited in entire Africa 🌍🇬🇭
@@frankkyereme7125
True, it is expected most came from there.
@@edith1705 hate is too much why
Did Ghanaian beat him or stole from him?Ghanaians are civilise more then entire where you come from.
Auston you might want to learn a little wolof but anyway great job even under certain circunstances.
Senegal! You will love the food.
Dakar is awesome,gd choice
After work, from around 4pm, many people in Dakar play football, run or work out at the beaches or close of some streets for this. Look out for this.
Welcome to Senegal Auston, I hope you enjoy it bro
The view of the city from the monument is breathtaking.
Well.. it's evident most west African countries are more conscious of the mis-treatment their ancestors went through, the sculptures tells it all.
Bruhh never thought you’d come to my country. There portugueses speaking people out here you know. Or maybe not full portuguese but our creole based portuguese. Go to Baobab neighborhood in Dakar or Cassmance region.
Miss Senegal love it
Might have to put Senegal 🇸🇳 on my list 💪🏽
You should you just need to know how to manage the money you should be good
Did you say that was Ngor. Thats where we stay. Actually looks like that same block. Senegal is one of safest places on Earth. Really nice people. Them vendors were somehting else 4real. You went to Renesance Monument which is the statue. Should be one of the wonders of the world.
It's very hot there maybe it's approaching the dry season in Western Africa.
in my travels to other countries and when the locals come up and randomly ask for money i say one thing and that is " Someone already got my money. that ends the whole convo. cause what else could one say lol,,,,Free Game Auston from the OG
I will definitely use that one
When u head to South Africa ,check out Durban, theres beach culture
That sound is done a lot in uganda too
Respect 🫡✊🏾
Omg we were on the same flight from Accra to Dakar on Sunday..where in Dakar are u? Are you on ig or something?
Auston that click sound is how many French people talk.
Not always is it they are upset.
That’s statue was cool
We make that sound too in Kenya when frustrated especially young people...we also type it in chats.."mscheeuu"😂😂. I'm enjoying Senegal too.
