    His mouth may not be full of teeth, but his head is full of factual knowledge. I’ve read a lot about the things he spoke about and he was spot on about Everything, he knows his stuff that’s for sure - no doubt about it!

    I’m 28 years old I wasn’t around for the civil rights movement and I wasn’t around for slavery but it still angers me to my core about what happened to my ancestors this is the reason why I am an American and Im fighting to get out this country in real time.

      @amaruaasir6276.... Your ancestors had tribal wars and slaved each other before whites ever came to Africa. We whites saved y'all from your selves by buying y'all. If not for us you might not be here. Y'all are the ones who invented slavery not us whites. Know your history instead of listening to what racist black Americans tell you.

    By far, this was your best vlog (in my opinion). Extremely informative history enhanced with an actual structure where the history took place.
    I was really disturbed at the George Bush reaction (laughing during his visit) to the inhumane treatment of slaves. It kind of explains the how people today don't understand what our people went through and tries to place a perfunctory slant on this time in history by minimizing it.
    Hats off to the old dude for an outstanding tour.
    Also, the artwork at the end was amazing.

      Just because someone says he was laughing doesn't mean it's true. It's incredible how people can hear one thing and just believe it without any evidence. You should have learned from the Kanye incident when Kanye prematurely called Vush jbr racist for not sending federal help during Hurricane Katrina when in fact it was a matter of the governor requesting help to trigger a federal response. Ignorance of the full facts required that you actually do research before coming to a c

The episode with Wendy, Marlo the Jamaican girl and the Ghanaian brother being possibly your most intriguing episode yet, along with this! Watching you adapt, grow and share your authenticity is dynamic. I believe you could do an ongoing African circuit and keep building a diverse audience if you collaborate wisely. 1) African travelogs 2) RELATIONSHIPS and 3) Practical Pan African/Political and Cultural interest. You have the age and charisma and timing to ride the ever increasing tides of the new Global African American male perspectives. Your sitting on soo much material.

    I am a tour guide in Cartagena De Indias - Colombia. today about 2 hours, I am taking a group of people from USA to Palenque. it's a piece of Africa in Colombia, right there, the Cimarrones as they were called "Africans who run away from their masters" used to hide. there's nothing wors for a human being that losing the Freedom wherever that happens. it is difficult to believe that happens, my wish is to see Africa becoming a Great continent in avery way possible in order to bring justice, progress, happiness and peace to each corner in a continent that deserves it.

      A few years ago I guided an European tourist journalist in Cartagena De Indias where we did have unfortunately slavery, during our visit to a house museum name after a guy who took care of the slaves, this gentleman was about to burst crying when he told me believe it or not that he has seen africans slaves chain by their hands in Africa. I was shock to know that it is still going on. SAD.

    Ideas for you: get up early in the morning and take the train to Diamniadio, the city where the stadium is and do some sight seeing. It's still developing, so it's doesn't get a lot of attention yet. From there catch a taxi to Saly and spend one day in Saly at the beach and bars. Saly is a vibe on its own.
    Also, try jazz night at Pullman Teranga or Radisson Blue, good looking people great music and food. Also since you like to workout you can probably shoot a vlog opposite Cheikh Ante Diop university. If it's not a holiday/prayer day, there's literally thousands of people exercising on the beach on new equipment.
    Check out the restaurants/nightlife in Almadies, it's Dakar's most upmarket neighborhood.

    First. Let's give this old man some props. Secondly, the relationship between Christianity and slavery is disturbing yet so real. Finally, that whole ferry ride was eerie.
    And yes, Africans " the collaborators" sold us. They are akin to the people we work with, i.e., sell outs. Yeah, this can be very triggering😢

    • @TheViableAlternative
      @TheViableAlternative 9 หลายเดือนก่อน +6

      I beg to differ that these Africans who sold slaves were "sellouts." It's not so cut and dry like that. You're using a 21st century social perspective to describe the ethnic dynamics of the 16th to 19th centuries. Many of the Africans who sold slaves to Europeans were selling people from different some rival ethnic groups. There was no such thing as an "African" or "Black" identity in Africa among Africans any much more than there was a "White" identity in Europe or an "Asian" identity in Asia. The African or "Black" came around in the New World where Africans were lumped together as slaves and faced a common oppression and a common enemy. Therefore these slaves sold to Europeans as slaves because they were other ethnic groups weren't seen as "brothers" or "sisters" so there was no "selling out." What existed was competition, rivalry, animosity and greed amongst one another.
