    Excellent review Brian. I particularly like the run-through you did with all the steering wheel functions. That is the first time I've seen that in a YT review of this model. Clear, concise and logical.
    We have a NX450h+ on order (6 months and waiting...some day.....!) to replace our 2012 CT200h F-Sport. Toyota/Lexus hybrids are the way to go. Nothing has ever broken on our CT. After almost 200,000km every switch, every light bulb is all original. The interior and paint still look like new. Just tires, oil/filter changes and fluid changes per the Lexus schedule.
    I hope all the tech in the new car will hold up for as long. Thanks.

    I have had a very hard time mastering the steering wheel controls. Your walk-through really helped me though I would wish for another video going into greater detail. Thanks for what you have done.
    Best move is to replace the run-flat tires. They are known noisemakers with a rougher ride than a regular tire

      I have the same controls on my RX and I DESPISE them. I can use them, but it makes everything 10x more complicated than it needs to be. A luxury car is supposed to reduce stress, not make it worse.

    Excellent review by a real owner. We have had our 350H (2024 Atomic Silver w/ Palomino) for about a month and feel very similarly about the quality/luxury of the ride and the gas mileage. We are in the US (and have the Luxury package) so our gas is displayed in miles/gal which on average for us is 42.2. And 90% of our 3,000 miles were traveling on 55-60 MPH highways over mountains. ACC is awesome. Especially on long drives. Both LKA as well as the automatic slowing on curves. Though if it needs to slow from 65MPH to 40MPH it waits a bit to long so I take over in those cases. One tip - with the 360 degree view you can set it so that the “front” view automatically comes on when you slow below about 7mph. I use that all the time as it helps with alignment in parking spaces, etc. But it could be annoying to some. Also, regarding navigation instructions in the HUD, they actually show up if your are using CarPlay with Apple Maps but not when using Google Maps. Apple Maps must have some additional integration with the Lexus systems.

      Congats on your new Lexus. I just got the same atomic silver/Palomino luxury 1 week ago and couldn't be happier. I am interested in finding out how you are achieving over 40mpgs? I have only gotten to 34mpg. I don't feel like I am being aggressive either. Does putting the music and a/c factor into it? Also, how do you reset the mpg gauge to 0?

      @@YBrianL, Why did you feel 20in wheels have a harder ride? Intuitively, lager wheels should make a ride felt softer and less bumpy. I'm in a process of purchasing NX 350h Luxury (or Executive version) vs. Prime (18in wheels), so your response would be greatly appreciated.

    I hope that transition between the battery and the gas engine stays smooth, because I had 2020 rx hybrid and I hate driving it every moment. The transition between battery and engine kicks in was very noticeable and yankied. The engine roar so loud inside the cebine. So I sold it out for the normal gas one and never had any problem until then.

    Hello! I recently purchased a 2025 NX 350h premium. It’s advertised at 38 mpg highway and 41 city. When traveling on the highway, I average 38 mpg. However, during my daily commute around the city, I average about 36 mpg on eco and 34 on normal. The Lexus app tells me I drive excellent and I use premium gas. Can you think of any other reason as to why I’m not hitting the 41 mpg in the city? I live in Louisiana so the weather is far from cold at the present.

    • @YBrianL
      @YBrianL  4 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      while hybrids are gona be more efficient whichever way you slice it, it does take certain habits/conditions to fully maximize and reach the advertised efficiency. Based on the app I'd assume you're already accelerating and braking gently, but maybe coasting more as much as possible could help. Heavy HVAC usage would decrease efficiency as well, and turning on s-flow and eco-heating/cooling could alleviate that a bit. I know some people prefer driving with the window down instead of AC but keep in mind anything over 40mph the wind resistance will significantly increase fuel usage. Lastly if your city commutes are short (less than 10min) then it'll be difficult to reach max efficiency since the engine took a third of that time just to warm up. Hope this helps

  • @paul9874
    @paul9874 9 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

    It is impossible to custom order a vehicle through Lexus. They have an allocation system and the dealer will try and match you up with a manufactured vehicle but it will not match your exact specifications. So be prepared to get a different color, interior or options than what you want.

    First time viewer and I was so impressed with the thorough yet concise review that I had to comment. Great job! I have the 2023 model and agree that the vehicle is made with front passengers in mind. The rear is a touch on the cramped side and the seating comfort comes nowhere near the comfort level in the front, although the heated seats are a nice touch in cooler seasons.

    I love the Nori Green color. Was looking at the 350h vs 450h+, but I can't justify the extra $10,000 for what essentially boils down to one gallon of gas per full charge. The MPG for the hybrid are fantastic, and it gets similar to what I am getting in my Camry hybrid.

    Well done and great owner’s review. I also watched your previous review where you picked it up from the dealership.
    I’m in Australia and my partner ordered a 350h on the 5th of March 2022. Yes… 2022!! We don’t even have a build date yet. All of ours come from Japan. Our top trim here equivalent to yours is called the Sports Luxury and thats what my partnered ordered… same Palamino interior and panoramic sunroof, except the exterior colour is dark grey. I’ve also ordered the F Sport coloured wheel arch mouldings and i’m going to swap them as there’s so much damn unpainted plastic!!
    But anyway… I’m looking forward to your future videos. Keep it up!!!

  • @christophers7070
    @christophers7070 5 หลายเดือนก่อน

    I had no idea that Lexus made cars in Canada. I would imaging Australian cars are made in Japan due to RHD spec.
    You chose the right colour, it is called Khaki Metal in Aust, but is the same colour. It is awesome.
    With the price gouging in we experience in Australia, the base model (called Luxury) is AUD80,000 on road. Above that, is F Sport, then the top package is the Sport Luxury. Add $5k for AWD, and $7.5 for the other trims, so top line AWD goes to $93,000.
    I think the ride issue come down to large rims ( I am definitely not a fan), and runflat tyres.
    I would buy a NX350h if they had regular tyres (or threw in a space saver spare). I swapped out the tyres in my wife's IS300h and the ride and quietness improved (was already good). Run flats wear out Quicker and cost twice the price. AUD1400 for 4 tyres, versus $750 for a full set of regular tyres, and I got roadside service in the case of a flat.
    If you drive any distance on a runflat, you need to toss them away.
    Does the RAV4 come with a spare tyre?, surely this would fit. If I was driving in the outback, I would always want a spare.

    Nothing in this review about the hybrid system and how it works. Is it a plug in? Or is it self-charging? Does it have EV mode? Does the gas engine take over automatically when the charge is low? Does the car take regular gas or does it need premium? It was nice to know about the superficial stuff but the reason I am interested in the car is because it's a hybrid.

    • @MrTmenzo
      @MrTmenzo 8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Genuine question,have you owned a hybrid before? If so you would know that hybrid simply means hybrid and not a plug in. You would also know that it self charges and ev mode is usually in lower speeds around 40mph or lower.

    HThe runflat tires seems makes the ride more rough and give more road noise, one thing I will address when I wear them down and just switch to normal 20inch Bridgestones. Besides that and a bit too much gloss black pain inside, I love my NX 350h. Though around town I do find the driving assist breaking when overtaking parked car on the side of the road every now and then.

    • @YBrianL
      @YBrianL  8 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      I think hybrid has to come with run flats from factory regardless of rim size due to no spare. I went from 20" rim with run flats to 18" rim with Michelin x ice and omg the road noise was absolutely night and day. I expect most of the difference came from the tire choice.

      Under hard acceleration you can definitely hear the engine but in my opinion it's not overwhelming and you dont get that horrible droning sound that some nissans or subaru CVTs have (or used to at least). Only happens if you're literally flooring it though, otherwise the engine/eCVT is generally very quiet

    I am torn between the Lexus NX vs the BMW X1. I love both the vehicles but need to choose one between them. What do you suggest?

      Both cars can be customized to end up in the same price range. I do believe you'll end up getting a better bang for the buck with NX. I've had both. Prefer Lexus over BMW. Take my comment for what it's worth.

    love the green/tan combo, but i wish that green would be more vivid.... it looks almost black in many moments...

    Love that color-- I use to have a mercury capri many years ago that color with tan interior and LOVED it.. I agree on the door sound for back door- is a bit "tinny"...

    I think you made the right choice. I have a 22 350h with 46 k miles and no major mechanical or electrical issues. Other than suspension thumping when going over speed bumps at a quicker speed than going over really slow. Have been happy

    Great review and informative video quality/presentation! Question: Some HUD don't show up while wearing polaroid sunglasses in the daytime. Have you tried this and does it show up (important since there are no guiding features on the arrows themselves on the steering wheel)?

    • @YBrianL
      @YBrianL  8 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      yea sunglasses absolutely cutout the visibility of the HUD considerably. It does vary depending on the exact lighting conditions, but for the most part it's more of a (big) nuisance but not like completely unusable with sunglasses. To me though it still beats glancing down at the steering wheel.

    350h Vs RAV4 Hyrid is the ultimate comparison evaluation. 🤔
    350h top negatives:
    1) Road noise
    2) Poor storage
    3) Cramped interior
    4) Irritating door handles
    5) Odd shifter
    6) Boring dull design

      last I heard is maybe around 4 months but it does vary from one dealership to another so definitely ask around. Usually bigger dealerships would have higher volume and would be faster

    Great video.. I dont like that the Lexus is spelled out on the back. I think it cheapens the look. Love there is space for keys and phone. Also, wish it was V6, for non hybrid options, obviously. Other than that love the look of the NX. Great color choice. 13:32

    While doing some research, came across these comments on the Lexus forum and wondered if you can confirm/comment on the points? It would be helpful!
    1. When you are listening to music and invoke Siri (iPhone) to say, call someone, the Siri interaction doesn't play via the car sound system, nor is the music volume reduced in any way. It seems to work pretty well, but if the music is loud (as it often is in my car) it's weird to be trying to interact with a small secondary speaker rather than having it simply work in the car's primary sound system.
    2. The "advance tracks" for music, and other normal music controls, are highly latent. This is hugely aggravating for me as I'm advancing from one track to another to another while the audio is playing two tracks earlier, never really catching up.
    Also, a question of my own...does the texting through Apple Carplay work seamlessly whereby if you receive a text it will:
    (1) switch automatically from the native Lexus system to Apple Carplay and
    (2) allow the audible readout of the text and
    (3) allow you to respond via voice?
    A description of how functionally this works when a text is received would be helpful if it differs from the above.

    • @YBrianL
      @YBrianL  8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      1. yes i cant quite pinpoint exactly but siri does come from a separate speaker and does not mute other audio. At least this is the default i'm not sure if there's another setting to change this. on android audio google assistant will mute other audio which makes more sense to me.
      2. not sure what they're setup is like (phone, app, etc.) but for me using iphone 12 or pixel 6 with spotify / poweramp i dont really experience "an aggravating delay". yes theres a slight delay but nothing out of the norm.
      3. yep if you're already connected with carplay, receiving a text in native lexus system will automatically switch over to carplay. you do have to manually press to read out loud but afterwards it will ask if you wish to respond with voice

    Nice review! However, i ended up going with a 23 Acura RDX Aspec. Traded in my 19 Mazda CX5 and NX profile looks similar to it. Too large of a grill, smaller back seats and cargo, fake leather, run flats and non-sporty styling were my drawbacks on the NX.

    Your run flat tires give you a harsher, noisier ride. Too bad your car doesn’t come with a spare tire, but they needed more room for the hybrid battery.

    • @YBrianL
      @YBrianL  ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Yea I can understand why they went with the run flats. Looking forward to see how big a difference the 18" non-run flats would do

    • @springertube
      @springertube ปีที่แล้ว

      @@YBrianL20s not proportionate and 18s more appropriate for that size vehicle anyway, especially given they're using run flats. It's smaller than an RX, etc., 18s would be spot-on.
