Hey Pan! Just wanted to say that out of all the detailers on YT, you are by far my favorite. You explain things well and it's easy to watch and digest the information. Plus the way you film and the video quality makes it very pleasant to watch for a long period of time. Thanks!
Glad you like them! Thanks for the kind words and positive feedback. I work super hard to make the best videos for my viewers, so it’s nice to see my efforts don’t go unnoticed. I watched the video when you first released it. I applied this to my wife's Honda CRV (10+yrs old) this week, so I came back to watch again and critique my technique. The product does go on quite easily and the seats look great. Like others mentioned in the comments, I didn't really see any high spots or streaks that would require a wipe down, but I did it anyway just because the instructions said to do so. What an embarasment of riches we have - so many great products from so many companies - looking forward to your annual awards!
Hehe yeah you're right Donald! We're in a period in time where we're spoiled with so many great products from many different brands, that are getting easier and easier to apply! Makes us enjoy the detailing even more.
Hey Pan! Thanks for the review! I applied this coating on my 9 month old BMW’s steering wheel and I confirm that it’s fantastic. Excellent hydrophobic properties and oil resistance. Very easy to apply as well, highly recommended product!
Hi Pan did apply the original leather shield to my vehicle. Great results. Easy application . Looking forward to apply the evo version to my wife's new vehicle. Thanks for the great demo.
Definitely going to try this leather protection for my wife’s Chevy Traverse. Thanks for continually showing new products. You’re costing me more money Pan! Lol. I do appreciate your videos as I’m just a DIY’er keeping up on my personal vehicles.
This has been my go-to leather protectant for several years. I also use Gyeon's leather leaner. A great combo. I did not find the need to do any leveling after coating application. In fact, the directions do not indicate a final wipe down is necessary.
Hi Pan, I applied previous version of Leather Shield 1 year ago on my new BMW seats. For me it was really easy to apply but i used Gyeons coating aplicator and it was easier to get to those difficult areas and made the application even easier. Leather Shield makes cleaning seats super easy i use Leather QD every 2 weeks and they still look brand new😀

Great video Pan Looks like a great product. Personally I use a product called leather honey. The seats in my 8 year old Mustang GT look brand new. I just pre wipe with a damp J cloth and then apply the leather honey with a microfiber cloth I keep specifically for the purpose. Yes the seats are tacky for a couple of days but it looks awesome.
Great looking product as every Gyeon product I have bought has impressed me. Ceramic coating the interior is as important as coating the exterior of your car. Ceramic coated interiors also have less dusting to go along with a much easier experience cleaning. Which product does Gyeon recommend for maintenance cleaning on the interior? Thank you for an awesome video Pan!
Very good clip. i wasn't aware that they made coatings for leather, learned something new. Certainly seemed easy to use/apply and since I have leather seats in my 17 year old car this is something that I will look into. Keep up the good work Pan and see you on the next one.
Hi Pan, thanks for another great informative video! I have two questions: 1) if you apply Leather Shield EVO and after a while you want to remove it from the leather completely (e.g. because you want to recoat the leather), how can this be achieved since it is a ceramic coating? Polishing like paint is not an option, or could you simply use the Gyeon Leather Cleaner to fully remove Leather Shield EVO? 2) how would you compare Leather Shield EVO to Colourlock Top Life in terms of e.g. durability, feel, protection and reversability, which got awarded the second place for leather protectors in your 2023 awards (while the non-EVO version of Leather Shield took 3rd place)? Thank you in advance for your thoughts!
1) You would have to ask Gyeon. Or perhaps they’ll see your question and reply. @gyeonusa 2) I still need time to test Gyeon Leather Shield EVO long term before drawing conclusions. To be continued in my awards video in August or September. 👍🏻
@@PanTheOrganizer For your information and your viewers', I have asked Gyeon about my first question and they replied as follows: "Unfortunately since leather is porous there isn't a good way to remove the coating. The only method is time." In my opinion this is a disadvantage compared to Colourlock Top Life, which can be fully removed with their Mild Cleaner.
Thanks! Modern leather is coated, with a polyurethane clear coat (similar to the clear coat on your paint). So on new leather seats, a leather conditioner wouldn't penetrate that top coat. You only start using leather conditioners on older seats (3+ years) when microcracks start appearing due to wear. On new seats, all that is needed is to protect against dye transfer, friction damage, fading and cracking from UV rays, and make cleaning easier. Hence why we use modern leather sealants and coatings. More about leather care in a video I made with leather experts here: th-cam.com/video/pvKJXGRneJg/w-d-xo.htmlsi=7Z9i2FVvl6OXOmMp
I've tried almost all of their coatings (except Rim, Trim and View) and all of them are fantastic, CanCoat is just amazing for the price and the volume (also the durability for a Lite coating destroys and the beading.. My god) One is SUPER easy to apply, nice sheeting but not impressed on the durability still a good coating, Pure is just awesome - the gloss my gods.. Mohs is just godlike, the slickness 😳 I have 2 coats of mohs on my paint now, without Skin (in my opinion one of the worst coats by Gyeon). About this leather shield evo, I bought it - wrote to Yves and he said that on my brand new Sensatec (BMW) leather (basically plastic) they have a factory clear coat and there is no sense in applying LS Evo - so I appied it on my cousins Merc - went on easy - no high spots and he says that they are a bit slippery but the cleaning is amazing. Cheers Pan!
@PanTheOrganizer I used the previous Gyeon Leather Shield 2 years ago. I've only put 4200 miles on the vehicle since. Do you think I should reapply the new EVO or wait until I put more miles on the vehicle?
This is the review I’ve been looking for, thank you Pan. I wonder based on your experience if there is any need for pre-cleaning when you apply this shield to brand new seats?
I have white full leather interior on my Taycan, and currently use CarPro Inside & top off with Koch Chemie Leather Star for that smoother feel. Does this go on top of the Leather Star? Or does my Leather Star become obsolete and this go over CarPro Inside instead?
My LS460 is 7 years old. Can I use the Gyeon cleaner with the Shield Evo or should I I use the Colourlock Smooth Leather or Geist 3 plus care kit would be better ?
Once opened, most coatings are good for a few months at best. For storage, always keep detailing products in stable conditions, and not frozen, unless told otherwise in the instructions.
Hey Pan, just wanted to say I love your videos! You're so informative and helpful. Quick question - should I apply leather lotion before the ceramic coating, or should I not do that? Thank you for your great content.
Thanks Chase! Do not do that. Never apply stuff before applying a coating. Just clean the surface, and apply the coating, as per instructions. Welcome to my channel. You discovered one of the biggest car detailing channels on TH-cam as we surpassed 1 million subscribers and we have over 135 million views! Hi Pan! Can you use all purpose cleaner for maintenance? Does damage coating? Can you use leather hydration after APC or directly on top of ceramic coating?
Do not use APC to clean leather surfaces. APC is high pH, and leather is actually acidic in nature (lower pH 4.5 to 5.5). So you want a dedicated pH balanced leather cleaner for the task. Like the Gyeon Leather Cleaner Natural, or any other good quality leather cleaner. That's all that is needed for maintenance.
I'm guessing it won't work on micro suede? Also what if I have already applied a leather protectant like dr beasleys more of a temporary ish protectant. how would I go about removing that? Leather cleaner natural/ Polstar in a faoming pump and a scrub ninja?
When is the EcoWash video? Apparently it has SiO2 protection in it? Makes me concerned about clogging up my drying towel since the Ceramic Detailer did even after I soaked/washed the towel. Any word on that?
I am not aware of the chemical composition of EcoWash, but many rinseless washes now have SiO2 in them, but not always for protection purposes. Like the recent Armour Detail Supply Hero review I did, that rinseless wash has SiO2 in it, but it's not for long lasting protection, they use it more for lubrication in that application. So if you wash your towels after use, I wouldn't be worried about the fibers being coated or clogged.
Hi @monstershayne, Q²M ECOWash has SiO2 in its formula to provide some level of protection and nice sheeting as well. Regarding your question, we recommend washing your mitt or microfiber towel after each use, whether you use a SiO2 product or not. But yes, if a SiO2 product is left to dry on any cloth, it will reduce its absorption performance. Hope that clears everything.
I am choosing between this Gyeon Leathershield or Geist, confused that I don't see Gyeon mention any friction protection on the product description but Geist did mention friction damage protection so wondering if Gyeon did confirmed that?
Great video as always Pan! If I have 10+ y/o leather seats with no visible cracking, is it recommended to continue using Leather Shield, or should I transition to a leather conditioner?
Hi Pan, great video. I have the Geon Leather Cleaner and Leather Shield. I cleaned my C8 ( 2021) seats on the weekend and noticed a small about 1mm in size brown spot on my adrenelaine red leather seat. Not sure what caused it. I used a very soft horse hair brush with the leather cleaner and cannot remove it. The car only has 7000 KM's on it. Any suggestions what I can use to remove it? I am thinking that perhaps the dye topcoat has rubbed off? Thanks for your help.
It's hard to troubleshoot these things at a distance, virtually, without knowing what caused the stain or seeing it in person. You might need to go up to a more heavy duty leather cleaner like this: amzn.to/3R8vep1 Sometimes a few rounds of cleaning are needed.
Hi Pan.. I thoroughly enjoy your vids which keep me on my toes for my vehicles. One of my favs, my Porsche 993 is nearly 30 yrs old, so would not qualify as "modern leather" . In this case, would it be appropriate to use this Gyeon product? I want to use the best protection on this concours qualifier. Your paint clips have really helped me make my paint shine and protected!!! Thanks and keep them coming.

I have been detailing for 27 years and I love to share my knowledge and passion with my viewers. You found the right channel to help you learn everything about detailing. As far as your 30 year old Porsche is concerned, I don't know what type of leather it has. In a nutshell, if it's pigmented (coated) leather with a clear coat on top, yes you can use this product. If it's aniline leather (raw hide), then no. To know if you have aniline leather, drop a few drops of water on the leather surface. If the water gets sucked in and leaves a stain, it's aniline. If the water stays on top and you can wipe it off and no stain left, it's coated leather. Hi Pan, thank you for all of your videos, I've learned a ton from you. I've just bought a new truck with leather. My question is, after you apply the leather ceramic, would you continue using that leather cleaning brush or would you just use a microfiber rag to clean the seats?

Thabks Pan, nice and instructive video 👍🏻 I'll keep in mind this coating when I'll detail my interior, especially my steering wheel. I have a question about the TRIM EVO: do you know if it has mat finish? All around my car I have satin/mat black painted parts (the most part of my car is glossy nacred white). I used Geyon coating some years ago, I was happy with it, so I'll go with the new Evo line. But this time I'd like to keep/enhance the difference between brilliant and mate parts, even with ceramic coating on top. Cheers 🙂
Gyeon says it leaves a darkening effect, but in a matte/satin appearance. See their own video here: th-cam.com/video/m8pMXMI_SOU/w-d-xo.htmlsi=obeh8f15JbZYwrzE
For semi-aniline, see a video about a new leather coating I reviewed and applied on my new Porsche's seats here: th-cam.com/video/HM9NpQYGSuU/w-d-xo.htmlsi=W8OwxiNVzQp4Lx90
Pan, I’m wondering if you’ve ever had to clean perforated seats? Recently my convertible top was down (beautiful day) and unknown to me a bird did their duty and ‘pooped’ on my back seat. I never noticed until a period later and when I did I immediately tried to clean it. Sadly it cleaned off the surface but seems to be imbedded in the perforated ‘holes’. Any ideas of how to clean those holes out?
Hi pan , what’s the follow up maintenance for this coating ? I assume and good quality interior cleaner wont ruin it, but what about leather conditioners ? I use Adam’s leather conditioner every couple months. Would this even penetrate the coating ?
Leather conditioners are usueless on new leather that’s in good shape, as conditioners can’t penetrate the top coat (clear coat). I spoke about this quite extensively in many videos in the past. So on leather in good condition, all you need is to protect it against friction damage, dye transfer, fading and cracking, and make cleaning/maintenance easier. To maintain leather seats after you applied this coating, you can use an interior detailer or the Gyeon Leather Cleaner Natural once in a while.
@@PanTheOrganizer interesting, I definitely notice the seats are much softer after the conditioner. Perhaps it’s not a “true” conditioner, I know it has high uv protection…perhaps I’ll wait till I run out of the product I have than give the coating a go. I don’t want to accumulate a ton of product and just have it sit around. Thanks Pan
A conditioner, although it won't penetrate a new leather surface, will still offer that "softness" on touch, as it's still laying on top of the leather's top coat. So it makes sense that you feel that.
Hi Pan, Much awaited video for me as you might have seen me asking crazy questions and thanks for replying on all of my threads, I am really a huge fan of yours, I am always inspired by your work. Thank you for all this. I know this is a sponsored video but if you could please share a good leather cleaner to prep the leather that would be great. Please do share the link of the product. Thank you,

Hey Pan, I’ve been looking for the best cleaners and protectant for synthetic “leather”, for example Toyota’s Softtex, what products would you recommend for those types of fabrics? I’ve looked through your video catalog but could not find anything.
Mainly durability (50% more than previous version) and ease of application. We spoke about all the new EVO line of products in my visit to Gyeon in New York for an event in this video: th-cam.com/video/lb-nRr5Z9AI/w-d-xo.htmlsi=H5HfohcUWU2kjaHH
Great video Pan. I wish Gyeon would stop providing that crappy block applicator and supply the microsuede applicator like they do with the Mohs coating.
We hear you. But the reason that we still supply the suede and blocks is so that you can use the "applicators" a multiple amount of times. If you use a microfiber applicator like what come in the paint coatings, its a single use situation because the product wont absorb into the material after the coating cures. So when customers realize that they can use the leftover coating on their leather shoes, bags, etc... they still have a good way to apply it. The suedes are also more flexible when it comes to unusual shaped objects like a steering wheel!
@@gyeonusa Why not include a microfiber applicator for the initial use and some of the suede sheets for any additional use? I bought Gyeon Rim and I couldn't believe I was given the block applicator to use on wheels. That was totally useless.
I applied Gyeon leathershield to my tesla last year.. it is garage kept and doesn't have much in terms of km's. How do I know if the existing leathershield is still there and if so how do I remove? I am looking to reapply with the new Evo but I am unsure in case there is existing protection left that may affect it.
If I take possession of a brand new car and want to do this, do I still need to clean the leather first? Or no, since it’s literally new/fresh leather? Thanks!
Hi Pan I know it is usually recommended working within the same line of products. I happen to have gotten Carpro Inside to clean my leather but got Gyeon Leather Shield. Would you recommend working with this combo?
This is perfect for new vehicles to protect the leather seats, leather door panels, leather dash and leather steering wheel from natural skin oils, UV Rays, dye transfer, dirt, grim, etc.
Hi Pan, great video. In a previous video, I noticed that you left the product on the seat and didn't wipe it. Is it just preference? I just added this to a (new to me) Boxter and it looks fantastic.
Hi Pan, it was three years ago. I just watched it again. It’s the one that you reference at the start of this video with you BMW. th-cam.com/video/CuN77nz8Ex8/w-d-xo.html. Great videos please keep them coming. The more products that are out there, the more valuable your videos become.
Hey Pan! - back for more! Question for you: I wash my cars once or twice a week (two of three are ceramic coated). I'm always trying to figure our what the best shampoo's to use are. Can you recommend? Descale? Reset? What's the best option(s)?
For regular weekly washes of ceramic coated cars, my favourite soap is this: bit.ly/3zkRxfM CarPro Descale isn't for regular weekly washes. It's for an "as needed" basis when you get mineral deposit accumulation or water spots. Perhaps a few times a year for a deeper decon wash, like in my spring cleaning tutorial here: th-cam.com/video/oTaFE_p2OAw/w-d-xo.htmlsi=41vbv8xlBLRFYByU
@@PanTheOrganizer Thanks Pan - that first link doesn't work... but I think it's for "Reset".. which I do use bc I saw it in one of your videos and love it. THanks!
It works when I click on the link. It brings you to CarPro Reset. Perhaps it’s your computer or where you live that doesn’t allow you to access the website? Who knows.
Thanks for the video. How does it stand up in the heat? I live in Central Texas where we hit 100F for 30+ days in the summer and the interior of vehicles get *really* hot. Will it cause any issues with the coating and the leather?
I don’t live in such conditions, but coatings in general are super heat resistant so they can resist to temperatures much higher than what humans could ever endure.

For now, Geist only has a leather sealant that can last 3-6 months, compared to the Gyeon leather coating which lasts up to 18 months. So I wouldn't compare both. I'd compare Geist Dye & Friction Blocker to Colourlock Leather Shield. But perhaps Geist is also working on a leather coating.
Hey, Pan The Organizer. Thanks for the Great content. just a quick question: I have just bought the product you demonstrated in this video BUT I am not sure wether it can be used for my 2014 Mercedes Benz S550L(I believe it is genuine leather). in the users manual it says:"Do not use microfiber cloths to clean genuine leather, artificial leather or DINAMICA covers. If used often, these can damage the cover." Would you please leave your advice. Thank you for your time.
Hard to say as I don't see your car. Car manufacturers have weird care instructions in their manuals typically as they have to assume most people don't know how to properly detail their car, and so they have to put huge precautions to avoid the average person to make catastrophic mistakes. If you use quality leather care products like these in this video, you should have zero issues if you follow the instructions of the given products. To know if your Benz has coated leather (like 99% of modern car) or aniline leather (a rare occurrence), drop a few drops of water on the leather. If it gets absorbed straight into the leather and leaves a dark patch (that will eventually evaporate), then it's aniline, and these aren't products for that. If the water stays on top, and you can simply wipe it and it leaves no stain, you have coated leather, and you can proceed as directed in this video. You can also watch my leather care tutorial I made with industry leading leather experts here: th-cam.com/video/pvKJXGRneJg/w-d-xo.htmlsi=_n9GytAlxdIwVoFu
Thanks Pan. 2 questions: Do you prefer this over Geist for a 911 red leather seats? Do you prefer this or DIY interior ceramic for dash and door panels?
Leather Shield EVO will certainly last longer than the Geist leather sealant (as that lasts 3-6 months). So until Geist releases a leather coating one day, then yes Leather Shield EVO will last much longer.
Recently got a 2015 Mazda CX-9 GT, It seems to have 3 different leathers on the front seats, perf leather, leatherette and a suede type leather, on the seats and a suede type leather panels on the door panels. any recommendations on on products for cleaning and protection, Would the shield evo be able to be used on these Seats,
@PanTheOrganizer thank you for the response. I did enjoy the video before I posted, I also asked if you or anyone else had recommendations for products for cleaning and protecting suede and Alcantara. I do apologize if that wasn't clear Thanks for your time and hope to continue to learn from your videos and others in this space 😊
Always love the videos... so I'm wondering (maybe a dumb question). 🤪 So forgive my ignorance as I'm still studying before applying my first ever Ceramic Paint Coating (again w/me coming from years of perhaps ole school Professional Meguiar's Numbered Products). 😇 But essentially, is there anything "special" or different about the Gyeon Leather Shield EVO that would allow the Gyeon Bald Wipe towels to be used again later for other future project? Or is it similar to, my understanding, that once a towel is used for a Ceramic Coating of any kind... that it then makes that towel unsafe/unusable. i.e. any towel used for Ceramic Coatings are all pretty much one use and done (only to be used like maybe as a tire towel from then on)? Thanks again ever so much for the great videos!!! 👍
The towels that you use to apply LeatherShield won't have the same hardening added to them like you see with the paint coatings. BUT, its ability to absorb will be lost so there will not really be much use for it anyways. Because of this, we consider the towels unusable for future usage.
@@gyeonusa Thanks so much for the clear information! 👍 I have ordered everything on the left hand side of the Gyeon Menu! ha ha 🤣 So I'm looking forward to applying it all to my New RAV4 Prime w/the View EVO, Trim EVO, Rim EVO (wheels and my new red brake calipers I'm a car nut), and last but not least Synchro EVO... so I'm going ALL-IN. 🤓😇 Thanks again!
What do you do if you applied the old Gyeon Leather Shield on your car seats a year ago and you want to apply this version? I've been using Gyeon Leather Shield on my car for the last 1.5 years and love it. Very easy to apply and seats are easy to clean.
What coating would you recomend to coat license plates? I am on my second set of license plates because the first set, the sun made the reflective coating peel off, so because now i have a brand new set coming, i wanted to try to protect that reflective coating so the sun doesn't make them peel again? My poor car is out in the elements 24/7 because i have no garage.I know it's an odd question, but if i can help keep my new plates from peeling by applying something to them? All i have is a spray sealant? 303 graphene spray sealant? or is it worth it?

I chose only what you have suggested, and also i watch The Rag company as well. Thanks Pan for all your knowledge!Youre the best!!!
Awesome video as always! I remember a year ago watching your first review of the older version, on your BMW. And I've been thinkin bout purchasing it, but now with this new improved version, I'm fully convinced on pullin the trigger. I think you mentioned something there about using it in combination with a standard leather protector for older vehicles. I am using Pol Star + Leather Star on a C-Class W204 C-Class with real brown leather. Do you think slapping this on top of the Leather Star as a final touch would be the best, or simply instead of it? Best Regards from Europe, Bulgaria! :)
You would have to thoroughly clean the leather surface before, to remove the previous protection, before applying the leather coating. Leather coatings need to bond directly to the polyurethane top coat of the leather, without interference by another protectant. Just like you need to decontaminate et strip the paint of previous protections before applying ceramic coatings.
Hey Pan, thanks for this video. For a newer vehicle (2018) with leather in very good condition, would you recommend this or the 3 step Geist treatment you featured previously?
As your car is older than three years, perhaps the Geist 3 Plus kit is more appropriate. But keep in mind that sealant will last 3 months on average. The Gyeon is a leather coating that will alst 12-18 months so much greater durability. If you are sure your leather is in perfect condition, you could opt for the Gyeon. Just make sure you clean the surface first regardless of which leather protection you apply.
Hello. I was trying to find someone here on TH-cam testing Soft99 Smooth Egg Platinum Liquid but can only find commercial and stuff about it. Why is that? Have you heard anything about it? I was wondering to use it as a Finnish over fusso coat as extra protection and maybe make the gloss and water beating even better 🤔
So what happens at the end of life? Meaning after 18 months do you just clean/do it again or do you have to "remove" what ceramic coating might be left on in a special way? Also, did you do this on the new Porsche?
At the end of the lifespan, a simple clean and reapplication is all that is needed. And you will soon see a video about a new product on my new Porsche leather seats. Stay tuned!
The instructions clearly state to apply, wait 3 to 5 min, then remove any leftover with a microfiber towel. Check their website, the instructions are on the product page.
@@PanTheOrganizer Interesting, so it depends on the USA vs international site. In the USA site, it says ""TIP: Apply the product to one panel at a time, ensuring even coverage. Do not wipe off. If you notice uneven drying, level the product without adding more liquid. After 20 minutes, check for any necessary touch-ups - if needed, gently wipe.""

Hey Pan...Does the Leather Shield EVO have any odor/scent to it? You talk a lot about the various scents of products in a lot of your videos that I've watched, which I find very helpful, but I don't think you mentioned that in this video. (Apologies if I just missed it!) Also, what happens if you accidentally get some of this on alcantara inserts or plastic/carbon seat backs? Is that something to avoid at all costs, or is there a way to remove it if that happens? Thanks for the great content!
Thanks for your review! I had always understood that a new car’s leather has a clear coat (as you mentioned) that makes the application of any additional coating ineffective for the first couple of years. Does the Gyeon cleaner remove the factory clear coating, or does the Gyeon coating adhere to the factory clear coat?
Don’t get confused. It’s the use of conditioners that is useless on new leather as conditioners can’t penetrate through the clear coat. But what is important is to peotect the leather and that’s why we use leather sealants or in this case leather coatings. Those peotections sit on top of the clear coat and bond to it. Like a coating on paint. So you clean the sueface with the leather cleaner and then apply the coating. The leather cleaner is pH balanced to the leather’s pH so it won’t damage the clear coat.
@@PanTheOrganizer Thanks for the clarification!! I am definitely going to give this coating a try. I'm the guy who sent a message to your Gmail and offered to buy dinner for you and your girl friend next Friday when my friend and I travel to Montreal for the F1 race. We bought the house brand new and drains are part of the build code here in Montreal. One came with the house and I paid an extra to have a second one installed (one for each car). So it’s the house builder that took care of that. I have no idea where he sources his drains.

It depends what you are looking for. The DIY Detail Interior Ceramic is certainly more versatile as it can be applied on pretty much all the interior surfaces including infotainment displays. If you want a high quality dedicated leather coating though, Gyeon Leather Shield EVO is hard to beat. It's up there in top tier leather care with brands like Geist and Colourlock.
You should know what type of leather seats your car has. If not, do some research on Google, or call your dealership and inquire. 99% of leather in cars today is coated leather, so I wouldn't overthink the moment. The way to know if you have aniline leather (not very common) is if you drop a few drops of water on the leather and it immediately gets absorbed into the leather, you know have aniline leather. More on all that in my leather care tutorial with leather experts here: th-cam.com/video/pvKJXGRneJg/w-d-xo.htmlsi=7Z9i2FVvl6OXOmMp
What would be the best Gyeon products to protect the G87 BMW M2 carbon bucket seats? Leather evo possibly for the leather part but what about the alcantara and the carbon backs - any ideas? thanks
The carbon backs are typically clear coated (glossy) so any paint protection will work on those too. Wax, sealant or ceramic coating, as you wish. For the alcantara (microsuede), you can use this easy to use Gyeon product: amzn.to/3QXtX3Z
hey pan what do u think about kamakazi coating lines. they also have for the paint, rims , leather snd so on. esoteric swears by them . just curious to what you think and maybe do a video on those products

i used to have a Land Rover, after few years i saw my leather seats breaking in some areas. will this product help to prevent that?
How did you discover my channel by the way?
Welcome to my channel. You discovered one of the biggest car detailing channels on TH-cam as we surpassed 1 million subscribers and we have over 135 million views! I have been detailing for 27 years and I love to share my knowledge and passion with my viewers.
You found the right channel to help you learn everything about detailing.
Same here! Everything is detailed and well explained. I've learned most of my product knowledge and how-to detail from Pan 😆
Great to hear!
Thanks for your feedback on the steering wheel. The most greasy leather part of a car 😅
I has so happy with the result that I also did my iphone leather case with it. Gives that brand new smooth feel to it.
Hi Pan did apply the original leather shield to my vehicle. Great results. Easy application . Looking forward to apply the evo version to my wife's new vehicle. Thanks for the great demo.
Great to hear! Thanks for sharing your personal experience with it!
Thanks for sharing your personal experience. And yes it pretty much self levels. Pretty awesome stuff indeed. The towel is more of an insurance wipe.
Hi Pan, I applied previous version of Leather Shield 1 year ago on my new BMW seats. For me it was really easy to apply but i used Gyeons coating aplicator and it was easier to get to those difficult areas and made the application even easier. Leather Shield makes cleaning seats super easy i use Leather QD every 2 weeks and they still look brand new😀
Thanks for sharing!
Another great video, Pan! I wanted to know more about these gyeon evo coatings. Thanks!

Great video Pan
Looks like a great product.
Thanks!

Interior Detailer is a great all surface maintenance cleaner for you interior!

Looks awesome. Never tried .been using gyeon leather coat.
Eco wash is already available at a retailer here. Can you give it a go?
If I get enough viewer requests for it, I'll look into it for sure! ;)
Very good clip. i wasn't aware that they made coatings for leather, learned something new.
Certainly seemed easy to use/apply and since I have leather seats in my 17 year old car this is something that I will look into.
Keep up the good work Pan and see you on the next one.

@@PanTheOrganizer just placed my order at their Amazon store.
@gyeonusa
2) I still need time to test Gyeon Leather Shield EVO long term before drawing conclusions. To be continued in my awards video in August or September. 👍🏻
@@PanTheOrganizer thank you for responding! Looking forward to your new awards video then.
Hi Pan, great video as always 👍👍 would love to see you try the other three products as well, specially the one for glass.😀😀
Thanks Robert!
Pan, can you wash the Gyeon towel and reuse it or do you throw it away?
Throw it away as it loses its absorbancy.
Can I use conditioner before applying and months after application...or is that just a waste.
Thank u sir
On new leather you don’t use a conditioner as it won’t penetrate the leather’s top clear coat layer. All you need to do is clean it, and protect it.
Did this on my genuine leather , gave the leather a softer feel after amazing , only complaint is the bottle is a bit small.
Did you use the entire bottle on just one car??
@@PanTheOrganizer I did two full vehicles , large SUV and got to the low end of the bottle below the dispense.
Ok that makes more sense now. I was like how did use one bottle for just one car haha. 👍🏻
Fantastic video Pan!! So when do you apply a leather conditioner?

@@PanTheOrganizer thank you Pan for taking time to reply, much appreciated 🙏
😁👍🏻
Cheers Pan!
Cool!
@PanTheOrganizer I used the previous Gyeon Leather Shield 2 years ago. I've only put 4200 miles on the vehicle since. Do you think I should reapply the new EVO or wait until I put more miles on the vehicle?
The previous Leather Shield was a 12-month coating. So after a year, it's recommended to clean the seats and reapply.
Thank you for the great video.
Glad you enjoyed it!
This is the review I’ve been looking for, thank you Pan. I wonder based on your experience if there is any need for pre-cleaning when you apply this shield to brand new seats?
I would always recommend that you clean first, and then apply. Even on new seats.
Awesome video and product review good friend
Thanks Richard!
How to storage it? How long does it last after open it?
Once opened, most coatings are good for a few months at best. For storage, always keep detailing products in stable conditions, and not frozen, unless told otherwise in the instructions.
Can you recommend a good protectant for synthetic microsuede seats?
Hey Pan, just wanted to say I love your videos! You're so informative and helpful. Quick question - should I apply leather lotion before the ceramic coating, or should I not do that? Thank you for your great content.
Thanks Chase! Do not do that. Never apply stuff before applying a coating. Just clean the surface, and apply the coating, as per instructions.

Is the 50ml bottle sufficient for one application or do I need 100ml?
One bottle is more than enough.
Pan, great video. Question. After this application, what product would you use for regular periodic maintenance (cleaning)? Thanks Paul.
Their leather cleaner natural, link in the description.
Can I put this on hard plastic door panels in addition to any soft touch materials through the car that also need protection as well?
This is made for leather.
I'm guessing it won't work on micro suede? Also what if I have already applied a leather protectant like dr beasleys more of a temporary ish protectant. how would I go about removing that? Leather cleaner natural/ Polstar in a faoming pump and a scrub ninja?
Just in time. I was considering since I used MOHS and Rim already.
👍🏻
You might need to go up to a more heavy duty leather cleaner like this: amzn.to/3R8vep1
Sometimes a few rounds of cleaning are needed.
Hi Pan.. I thoroughly enjoy your vids which keep me on my toes for my vehicles. One of my favs, my Porsche 993 is nearly 30 yrs old, so would not qualify as "modern leather" .

Thabks Pan, nice and instructive video 👍🏻
I'll keep in mind this coating when I'll detail my interior, especially my steering wheel.

Yes you would use a small pick tool kit to carefully get things stuck in the holes. Something like this: amzn.to/3SzZfyF
@@PanTheOrganizer thanks that just might do the trick !
Durability of > 12 months (18 months) is based on what frequency of people sitting on the seat, or based on UV deterioration regardless of seat usage?
You’d have to ask Gyeon
Great video Pan. Can you wash and reuse the microfiber towels used to wipe down this coating?
No as the towels lose their absorbancy.
@@PanTheOrganizer Is that true even if you soak them in a rinseless wash or something similar in a reasonable time?

Hey Pan, I’ve been looking for the best cleaners and protectant for synthetic “leather”, for example Toyota’s Softtex, what products would you recommend for those types of fabrics? I’ve looked through your video catalog but could not find anything.
Synthetic leather (Softex) is like vinyl. And you can apply the Leather Shield on that no problem.
So how is it actually better? I have the original and it works great.
@@PanTheOrganizer so around 18months of protection with ideal conditions?
If you are at the one year mark, it's time to clean the leather and reapply a fresh layer. The previous Leather Shield was a 12 month coating.
@@PanTheOrganizerdoes removing the old coating off the leather just involve using a leather cleaner like the one in the video and drying it?
Can I use/apply the Q² LeatherShield EVO, on a ventilated vinyl leather seat ?
Yes of course.
If I take possession of a brand new car and want to do this, do I still need to clean the leather first? Or no, since it’s literally new/fresh leather? Thanks!
I would always clean the surface first before applying any form of protection.
Will do. Thanks!
Hi Pan I know it is usually recommended working within the same line of products. I happen to have gotten Carpro Inside to clean my leather but got Gyeon Leather Shield. Would you recommend working with this combo?
That's fine.
This is perfect for new vehicles to protect the leather seats, leather door panels, leather dash and leather steering wheel from natural skin oils, UV Rays, dye transfer, dirt, grim, etc.
Yes 👍🏻

Hey Pan! - back for more! Question for you: I wash my cars once or twice a week (two of three are ceramic coated). I'm always trying to figure our what the best shampoo's to use are. Can you recommend? Descale? Reset? What's the best option(s)?
For regular weekly washes of ceramic coated cars, my favourite soap is this: bit.ly/3zkRxfM
CarPro Descale isn't for regular weekly washes.

I wonder how this compares to the Geist. products. They seem to be very highly regarded too.

@@PanTheOrganizer thank you so much for the valuable advice and your time. 🫡👍👍🙏🙏
I like Gyeon products. One I'd like to try.
What's your favourite Gyeon product so far?
@@PanTheOrganizer Gyeon Syncro coating. Excellent.
Great pick
Thanks Pan. 2 questions:
Do you prefer this over Geist for a 911 red leather seats?
Do you prefer this or DIY interior ceramic for dash and door panels?
Leather Shield EVO will certainly last longer than the Geist leather sealant (as that lasts 3-6 months). So until Geist releases a leather coating one day, then yes Leather Shield EVO will last much longer.
@@PanTheOrganizer thanks. How about the DIY ceramic interior? For places like dash and panels?
That’s a great versatile pick. I’d coat the leather with a dedicated leather coating, and do the rest with the DIY Detail Interior Ceramic.
Recently got a 2015 Mazda CX-9 GT, It seems to have 3 different leathers on the front seats, perf leather, leatherette and a suede type leather, on the seats and a suede type leather panels on the door panels. any recommendations on on products for cleaning and protection,
Would the shield evo be able to be used on these Seats,
All leather, vinyl, vegan leather. Not suede or alcantara. I spoke about all that in the video. Please watch the video.
@PanTheOrganizer thank you for the response. I did enjoy the video before I posted, I also asked if you or anyone else had recommendations for products for cleaning and protecting suede and Alcantara.
I do apologize if that wasn't clear
Thanks for your time and hope to continue to learn from your videos and others in this space 😊
@@teknightrider2586 of course! Thanks for the support!
How long does the product last in the bottle once open?
Coatings are typically good for one to two months once opened, on average. Perhaps Gyeon can confirm specifically for this product.
What do you do if you applied the old Gyeon Leather Shield on your car seats a year ago and you want to apply this version?
I've been using Gyeon Leather Shield on my car for the last 1.5 years and love it. Very easy to apply and seats are easy to clean.
Clean the seats with the Leather Cleaner, and then apply the new Leather Shield EVO.
I simply apply the same protection as on my paint, a ceramic coating. A ceramic spray is also fine. You’ll just need to reapply more often.
@@PanTheOrganizer Thanks, i will use my 303 graphene spray on them, and if they need more, i'll do them again! Thanks for answering my question.

@@PanTheOrganizer I have been watching you way back when you had your last BMW. I am 57 own a 2008 Ford Focus 2 door coupe SE, have had it since new, and wanted to improve on my care of my beloved vehicle, so started watching you and have learned alot. i had a fear of car washes after a tramatic experiance, so when i saw how you cared for your car at your home, i knew, i could wash my own car right!
@@PanTheOrganizer Thanks Pan, love your channel!
Stay tuned!
Wait, do you wipe off or not? Their website specifically says not to.
That’s also ok. It self levels pretty amazing anyways so you won’t have much to wipe. Don’t overthink the moment here. 👍🏻
@@PanTheOrganizer Cool cool. I'll probably just do it your way. It seems like a website error more than anything.
Got here early to get a nice 🤚Paaaaaaannnn✋ seat to enjoy the show

We always have dinner at an Italian restaurant that is only 15 minutes from your Porsche dealer.
Hey Pan, any chance you could make a video or shortly explain your drainage system?
I was gonna build myself a house and looking for garage ideas
I explained everything in my garage tour video here: th-cam.com/video/wx6HTBAzeXI/w-d-xo.htmlsi=mRUcQuCI-8_E2a2F
@@PanTheOrganizer oh thanks, I just saw it, any chance you remember where you got the drains?
We bought the house brand new and drains are part of the build code here in Montreal. One came with the house and I paid an extra to have a second one installed (one for each car). So it’s the house builder that took care of that. I have no idea where he sources his drains.
@@PanTheOrganizer ah okay, thank you sir, appreciate it, love your videos BTW always fun to watch, all the best from Manitoba!!
Hi Pan, thanks again for a great video and demo, I do have a Tesla Model 3, 2024, can I apply this to the dashboard area under the windshield and the black trim under the side windows or it is just for seats and steering wheel? Thanks!

Hey Pan thanks heaps for this video!
Got a few questions if you don’t mind answering.
Would this coating be suitable for synthetic leather in Kia Vehicles and would 1 bottle do 2 medium sedans?
Cheers
Leather, vegan leather, vinyl, all good. It depends how much you apply but you should be able to do seats in two average size cars yes.
Would this work on PU leather?
Thanks a lot 🙏
My pleasure!
Pan. Can you do a video on gyeons trim product please.
Nice video I would like u to test the glass coating next
You mean View EVO?
@PanTheOrganizer yes the new glass sealant right?
I haven't gotten my Supra yet but I'm going to order this already 😆
Congrats on your new Supra! What color did you get?
@@PanTheOrganizer I've got a 2020 Absolute Zero White! Got a pretty good deal so I'm about to sell the BRZ. Can't wait to have the Supra professionally ceramic coated!
Hey pan, do you recommend buying diy interior ceramic or this leather coating?
It depends what you are looking for. The DIY Detail Interior Ceramic is certainly more versatile as it can be applied on pretty much all the interior surfaces including infotainment displays. If you want a high quality dedicated leather coating though, Gyeon Leather Shield EVO is hard to beat. It's up there in top tier leather care with brands like Geist and Colourlock.
Sounds good, thanks u
would this be great on motorcycles seat even they are expose to the elements ?
You would have to ask Gyeon.
@@PanTheOrganizer Gyeon PH confirmed that it can also use in motorcycle even if it's expose to elements
How can I tell if I have one of the leathers you listed as non compatible?
@@PanTheOrganizer Excellent thanks
What is the shelf life once opened?
Like most coatings, a few months.
