Thanks 🙏 You’ve mentioned Jonah having programmed in changes into his keyboard, but he’s also manually switching them often. You see the control panel on the top of his keyboard… You’ve certainly also seen his (blind) take on a Harry Styles song, from the same channel, ‘pianote’. If not, you might find it fascinating to watch, because you see his mind in action there for a bit, trying to produce the musical background and harmonies to a song he’d never heard before, and has just been given the vocal and drum tracks of. It’s fun, and a real eye opener ;) You’ve also mentioned Tim Henson from Polyphia. Henrik is a big fan, and I too wouldn’t be surprised if they would be doing some kinda collab in the future. Two fire bands! But to follow your thoughts on Jonah’s music writing process was gold. With these guys I get the feeling that it’s one of the most complicated processes. Also, at times a song starts with one of them presenting a chordal structure, then adding the melody and the groove. Sometimes tho it might start with the melody, often a very simple pop-style melody, and then adding the instrumentation one by one, and ‘doing the surgery’, as Aron once said in an interview ;) As you know, they play all their songs live, and have been touring now for years. So Jonah would’ve had plenty of opportunity to practise this and all their other mindblowing songs. You going down the road of Dirty Loops interviews, it’s such an interesting journey, hey? There also is a vid of Jonah explaining how he layers vocal tracks for his solo cover of ‘Bad’. Another awesome example of seeing this guy’s mind at work.
