Well done gentlemen! Quality best in class comparison video of these German kindred spirits. BMW 330i wins the sporty eye candy contest for me between these two. However, when it comes to which would I actual purchase between the two? I would hands down want the A4 for the long haul; a ride or die daily driver. In my opinion A4 is best combination of modern intuitive intelligent tech, modest clean minimalist cabin with an athletic power train that is zippy off the line and can take on the curves with ease. Plus she meets all my google/android needs 😄
I've had BMW 3 series vehicles and one 5 series over the last 20 years. I recently purchased my first A4 and now wouldn't go back to BMW, as the fit and quality finish just feels much more solid. Not to mention the great Quattro power and grip.
These cars are so close, I think 4k cheaper version is the win here, not to mention more comfortable ride. I am planning on getting a4 with similar spec soon.

As far as this comparison goes, the lack of Android Auto and Google Earth in the Audi are the real deal breakers for me. I'm not an Apple user, and I find it a bit disparaging that BMW hasn't included that in it's media system. I also like to use navigation, and the Audi cockpit is just marvelous. It's far more than 1pt difference in the actual driving experience. Finally, I find that the Audi is a bit quieter and less distracting in cabin over long distances. I don't feel as tired after 8hrs in an A4, like I do in a BMW 3 series. That said, I think I'm going for the Audi S5 Sportback. But, even though I live in Louisville, I'll probably be visiting the Lexington Audi dealer, just because they've been so helpful to you, ...and you've been helpful to me. Thanks again.
I had a M340i and traded it in for an Audi A4. The Audi is a much nicer car especially as a daily. Of course it is not as fast, but the BMW was too fast when my commute is only 40mph roads, made no sense to me. My other car is an A6 and I just gotta say Audi knows what they are doing!
My problem with most modern Audi’s is that they place the engine entirely in front of the front axle because of the geometry of the AWD system. The BMW has the engine quite a bit further back to reduce front heaviness
It’s funny when you guys call the 330i a basic engine when it is one of the biggest engine options in Europe 😅 The base engine for the 3 Series is the 318d (yes, diesel) with only 150 hp or the 318i with 156hp. But it’s still more than enough for this car, plus it gives you great mileage! 55mpg for a 150hp diesel engine in a car this size is absolutely amazing!
i have to choose! 😢 i like how both look on the outside, i like the bmw infotainment system but i like the a4 interior better (also i’m looking at 2018 audi or a 2019 bmw)
I really like these videos, they are Always really cool how you guys compare two cars against each other. I like the BMW’s new look way better but the Audi is very nice. I will still buy Japanese at the end of the day.
The fact of the matter is - these two cars offer somewhat different riding experiences. While Audi A4 is plush yet sporty on demand, BMW 3 series is more sporty aiming at all round balance. That makes the driving experience somewhat different. And there are plenty of takers for both. My personal preference is Audi though.. but that's just that - my personal preference.

BMW looks way better and I like the 50-50% weight distribution of the car as well as the strong chassy, making it very easy to control the car and drive it like you want!
To be honest.....Living in Germany and driving Audi and bmw for over 15 years, my Next car is going to be a Lexus. Tired of horrible maintainance costs and unreliability. My actual car is an BMW X4 and its a nightmare and turns into a Money pit
Hi BMW_OP I'm living in Australia. I've got an A6 C6 with the 3L TFSI engine and the car has been very reliable, Audi dealer pricing here for service/maintenance is 3x times more than the local 3rd party specialist workshops. I changed the brake rotors and pads for 15% of the dealer quote. For a 2000kg Quattro it returns low 7litres/100kms on the highway and low 9's in Sydney traffic, if I drive without consideration to fuel economy it returns mid 11's in mixed traffic. The Michelin PS4's last 80,000 kms. I think it is a fine durable machine. My previous was a Lexus IS and it was superbly reliable but i would say the "bones" (chassis and driveline) in the Audi are overall better performance and suspension components are heavier duty. My friend drives BMW.and has had three X5's and totally loves them.
For me Audi is more luxurious than the bmw , too bad they don't produce manual transmission anymore , i think they don't sell very well .. super complete comparison 💪 Thanks guys

Really a 6 popper is powerful! Yes something Porsche has known for decades. There are 4 cylinder cars that are peppy! A modern 6 cylinder should have no problem being peppy in a car this size.

Regarding the Audi drive select, I would suggest that Auto is the standard setting rather than Comfort, because the latter makes the trans upshift very early and really dials back the throttle mapping. It also sets the steering to be super light regardless of speed. It’s more equivalent to BMW’s Eco Pro mode IMO. Did this cost the A4 a half point? Maybe, maybe not 😉
That is a good choice, but the TLX won't give you the sportiness of the other cars. Also, some reviewers say that it doesn't handle well. Just a heads up.
BMW is not a sharp design, why or how could you think it was sportier is only because of your leaning to BMW from a personal choice. So I object, you came in partial to the Bavarian. No car in this group is sexier than the A4.

Nice cars, I prefer the exterior look of 3 series, including the last version. The Audi is nice but it looks a little too much like a Jetta to me.
I like both. Though, because I live in the Caribbean I am disappointed the all new BMW doesn't offer ventilated seats.
The BMW seats run so hot I got sick of it. I have two Audi's, doesn't have ventilated seats, but they never feel hot.

My BMW M340i had the same sort of exhaust housings.

I would choose from the Mercedes-Benz C300 or Acura TLX Advance.
That is a good choice, but the TLX won't give you the sportiness of the other cars. Also, some reviewers say that it doesn't handle well. Just a heads up.

We use a Sony AX53 4k Camcorder and GoPro Hero 7 black
