one thing i dont like so much about elden ring is you can just run past every normal enemy just ignore them get on the horse and to the boss if you try that in any dark souls game, especially if you dont know the way, you end up traped somewhere with a bunch of enemys and thats it i also never used this marika statues i dont know what for, they are normally 10m away from a bondfire and bondfires are right before the bossroom
Well, you can still get trapped when you run around in the dungeons of Elden Ring. Speaking of dungeons, those usually have a Grace (or bonfire) at the start, and a statue of Marika before the boss room, so you don't have to run all the way through the dungeon again if you die to the boss. Several spots in the overworld that also has statues of Marika, far away from other Graces.
12:30 Desperatly need a bonfire, turns down the path to andre fire, turns back, goes inside the church and sees the elevator down to firelink shrine, GOES DEEPER INTO THE CHURCH xD
I feel like it works both ways. Being decent in DS1 and 3, doesn't mean you'll have an easy time in Elden Ring. That's my story. The delayed attacks fkd with me a lot.
To me, DS1 is more of a puzzle game than Elden Ring which plays more as an action game. DS1 is all about memorization and figuring out gimmicks and patterns. Definitely feels like very different games.
Because these games have a lot in common? I mean, you learn how to roll / backstab / parry / whatever in one game, and that basic skill just transfers to all of them.
@@AlexanderShamov The issue isn't the assumption that some skills will carry over, it's the assumption that anything else similar will be easy (implying Elden Ring is akin to a higher difficulty setting thus any other souls game would be easy).
@rosstee there is parrying. It's just Parrying and Riposting is soooooo good in DS1, and fairly easy. Elden Ring does at least have a better parry than DS2 or DS3, but it's still not as broken as DS1. Not to mention that everything is faster in Elden Ring, with crazy attacks, so it's harder to time parries. Oftentimes you're better off just avoiding the attacks altogether.
Great video. I started Dark Souls for the first time earlier this year having never played anyhting in the series. I thought I might challenge the fireside guy at 3:35. Ended up starting over today after losing 30+ times. [I might be bad at this game.]
Grats on the Gargoyle helm drop! Well done, indeed. I actually cried at the gargoyle boss fight way back in 2011, and then 'took a break' from Dark Souls to play, releasing for the first time ever on 11/11/2011, The Elder Scrolls V Skyrim
Do you want to know what "Dark Souls" means? A lot of players still didn't know until they finished Dark Souls 3 DLC. But Dark Souls was showing us since the first game. Look at the icon of a Boss Soul. It is huge, white, radiant. Now look at humanity icon: Huge, dark, but the same icon. Dark Souls are humanity.
After completing DS 1, getting started on DS 2, 15 hours of Demon Souls and getting the Platinum on Bloodborne, I found ER to be satisfyingly mid on difficulty. It still has its tough parts and learning curves of course. But then I went into DS 3 and DAYUMM. That was a quick reminder of how tough Souls games are.
Capra Demon hard-blocked me until I tried running to the staircase. Never had a problem since. The O&S fight, the run to the bonfire right before them, and blighttown were the next most difficult sequences for me. The runbacks feel punishing, but also so meditative and satisfying when you finally nail it.
Let's just say the free movement of Elden Ring makes the game fairly easy, not to mention the summons. Its refreshing to see someone struggle with this game again xD (Like i did once)
Elden Ring is the easiest of the bunch, so prepare yourself for ALOT you'll be going through ;) And above all play the way you find most comfortable, don't be dragged by others's opinions on how you should or shouldn't play, and what you should or shouldn't use.
@@HeySidPlays Dark Souls 2 has alot of good things, but depending on the point of view, alot of terrible others to balance the scale, it's in a very weird spot for me. As for the hardest I'd say Dark Souls 3, but also the best and most fair game in the series, it is also far more linear than other entries, aswell as also the biggest game in terms of content, it was the ultimate culmination of everything FromSoft did from DS1, to Bloodborne at the time.
@@HeySidPlaysSo if you play scholar of the first sin your in for a rough time, they basically just added enemy spam to what would otherwise be a really good game, my advice is to play more slowly, stay locked off of your enemies, and level adaptability, it gives you Iframes in your rolls
@@HeySidPlaysThe hardest souls game is usually your personal opinion. DS2 gives the player the most routes to take of the trilogy, so if you’re struggling, you can typically go somewhere else and come back. It was made with the help of Tanimura, who worked on Elden Ring. If you do play DS2, play Scholar of the First Sin. It’s the full addition that corrected some of the enemy placement and contains all the DLC. Do note, it was based off DS1 and Demon’s Souls. So the bosses are easier but the enemies are harder. There are many details to that game, so if you ever do a video on DS2, I’ll try to leave a comment detailing all the aspects to it (there are a ton compared to other souls games)
At dragon bridge where you descend the stairs there's a ladder to a previous bonfire. Also there's a bonfire underneath the dragon too. The number next to your health is Humanity. This stat is more like a special currency for reversing hollow (allowing online play) and increasing your total Estus flasks you recover from a specific bonfire when resting. 5 is Minimum 10 is Average 15 is Easy Mode 20 is Endgame To increase you must reverse hollowing then burn humanity at bonfire you wish to give more flasks. Some bonfires don't require this.
Sid, feeling the surge of confidence after suddenly finding his resolve against the almighty Taurus Demon : Does he know that I beat Promised Consort Radahn?
Yeah you gotta reverse your hollowing at a bonfire using humanity, the big grey number next to your health. Then use another to kindle a bonfire to make it give you 10 estus, later you’ll get the ability to use more humanity and get 20 at each bonfire. You don’t have to do it at every bonfire but a good idea at frequently used spots like the blacksmith
Always fun to see when a fellow person who started with Elden Ring goes over to Dark Souls 1 Because Elden Ring gave us an addiction that will never be sated And now we have to try all of them

if you try that in any dark souls game, especially if you dont know the way, you end up traped somewhere with a bunch of enemys and thats it
i also never used this marika statues i dont know what for, they are normally 10m away from a bondfire and bondfires are right before the bossroom
Dumb take because its easy to run past enemies in dark souls
12:30 Desperatly need a bonfire, turns down the path to andre fire, turns back, goes inside the church and sees the elevator down to firelink shrine, GOES DEEPER INTO THE CHURCH xD
Playing the souls series is something I’ll never forget
I wonder why so many people assume that since they are "pro" at Elden Ring any other souls game should be a walk in the part 🙄
@@junova7503😂 i love it ds 1 and 2 were such a pain i got my plat trophys but i have painful memories of those playthroughs.
11:34 wait till he learns you can't teleport between every bonfire lol
Attunement is for learning spells. After a certain amount of levels there, you get one more slot
you passed 3 bonfires
12:09 it's amazing how in this chase you managed to make every wrong turn possible.
"I don't use shields, shields are for cowards"
Oh sweet summer child
Bro doesn't know the power of parry and riposte.
di.... did Darksouls make Shields cool?!
@@Broockle I haven't played it yet, is there no parrying in Elden Ring?
@@rosstee Elden Ring is still on my backlog too 😆
There's gotta be tho.
"Shields are for cowards", proceeds to run away screaming lol
I didn't run away it was a tactical retreat!
Shields are KING in Demon's and Dark Souls
Great video. I started Dark Souls for the first time earlier this year having never played anyhting in the series. I thought I might challenge the fireside guy at 3:35. Ended up starting over today after losing 30+ times. [I might be bad at this game.]
Grats on the Gargoyle helm drop! Well done, indeed.
I actually cried at the gargoyle boss fight way back in 2011, and then 'took a break' from Dark Souls to play, releasing for the first time ever on 11/11/2011, The Elder Scrolls V Skyrim
It's always fun to see first timers on this type of game lol
Do more of this game because it's the best of all the souls games. It deserves your attention.
12:43 Watching dude turn away from both bonfire paths, then dying was funny af
Capra Demon hard-blocked me until I tried running to the staircase. Never had a problem since. The O&S fight, the run to the bonfire right before them, and blighttown were the next most difficult sequences for me. The runbacks feel punishing, but also so meditative and satisfying when you finally nail it.
Bro is running past zone 1 enemies. 💀"Elden Ring Pro".
Looking forward to the rest of your playthrough man. Good luck! 😂
A true master knows when to avoid a fight
It's the other way around. You get better in Elden Ring after playing Dark Souls.
Let's just say the free movement of Elden Ring makes the game fairly easy, not to mention the summons.
Its refreshing to see someone struggle with this game again xD (Like i did once)
09:03 "They don't know I beat Promised Consort Radahn" lmao. Good video
Elden Ring is the easiest of the bunch, so prepare yourself for ALOT you'll be going through ;)
And above all play the way you find most comfortable, don't be dragged by others's opinions on how you should or shouldn't play, and what you should or shouldn't use.
Which would you say is the hardest game? I've heard bad things about DS2
@@BonfireKnightfalse, scholar is the objectively better, improved version that fixed enemy placement
Loved the bonfire death next to Andre. That's when you know you're in a world of pain.
5 is Minimum
10 is Average
15 is Easy Mode
20 is Endgame
To increase you must reverse hollowing then burn humanity at bonfire you wish to give more flasks.
Some bonfires don't require this.
Sid, feeling the surge of confidence after suddenly finding his resolve against the almighty Taurus Demon :
Does he know that I beat Promised Consort Radahn?
Great video. You’re genuinely funny and the edits are top notch. Instant sub
the Smoug and ornstien fight in ds1 was my favourite fight in all of the games. That sweet first time you beat them after 30 attempts
First time I fought the Taurus Demon, he did his backwards dodge... Right off the edge of the wall. I was flabbergasted.
The terms an conditions section is the first boss. It's meant to give you a sense of dread immediately, and tests your perserverance.
Dark souls 1 isn't about bosses.. it's the whole experience that is difficult especially if you play it with no clue...the hardest 😅
just a tip if you press the attack button while falling down then you can plunge attack the enemies for massive damage
Always fun to see when a fellow person who started with Elden Ring goes over to Dark Souls 1
Because Elden Ring gave us an addiction that will never be sated
And now we have to try all of them
Beautiful vid, gotta learn to parry especially in the older games.
To be fair this was honestly amazing xD
It was full of laughter and frustration. Seeing you not take the route to Andre while you were begging for a bonfire made me facepalm xD
Great content though, insanely fun, hope you keep it up!
you know the clip when an ape does doesmake music in homer simpsons head? the ape was me while watching this video. laughing and clapping my hands 😂
12:05 out of the frying pan and into the fire! Classic Dark Souls experience 😆
That was a nice blind Dark Souls first video, I gotta see the next episode now!
This was wildly entertaining. 😂
Thank you!
It’s always such an experience watching Elden Ring players try out the OG souls games, great video though! You get to experience what most of us dealt with xD although my first souls game was dark souls 2, I had a very similar experience playing 1 for the first time hahahahaha
I'm shocked he didn't think to plunge attack. It's actually kind of crazy
The Knight uses a colossal sword like a greatsword one-handed.😂😂😂
the fact that he missed every single way of being safe at undead parish seem nostalgic
I just started back going through this game and watching this is reminding me what my first time was like, how many hours went into this video lol
ALRIGHT, haven't watched the video yet but finding your channel so early will be an amazing journey through the games, so I'll subscribe and watch you 🎉🎉
I just discovered this channel so I watched a couple more videos, and you are hilarious.I was very surprised that you only have 1k subs, because you deserve way more.
hehehe title said it all 😁 that dude kicked down the door same way as jason in new york just walked straight through😂😂
Just played it for the first time after putting 3k hours in eldenring and never played a darksouls game before that I absolutely loved it and after the bell gargoyles fight it wasn't to to hard but I do think I lucked out by getting the Black Knight halberd
A great and funny video always funny to see players get humbled by how brutal older games were compared to new ones looking forward to seeing more definitely gonna check your other older videos had a lot of fun with this one.
I love that ds1 is exactly as i remember it.
Nice walkthrough and funny bits! Keep doing more ds1 for sure
Thank you! Working on getting more done as quick as I can 🙏🏼
Ah going back to DS1 after bloodborne was such an insane readjustment period for me. This should be really fun.
