Well if your also having internet troubles turn ur wifi network on and back on and then turn off your computer for like 30 mins- to an hr then turn it back on internet should be up

I’m traveling. In my hotel room, I could get wi-fi, but couldn’t connect to the internet. The problem was there was no “WPA2/WPA3 Personal” listed under security in Advanced Wi-Fi. Somehow your video helped. Thank you.

I wasted a lot of time trying to fix it my self, and then 2 hours with Apple support. 2:35 minutes video had the solution. If I could teleport a thank you cookie to you I would!

Yup same. Just a new 192, then fails after no time. Been dealing with this joke for years. MacBook only. Every other device in the house is fine.

What happens if it assigns the same “192” IP adress again. It didn’t change to another IP. Does the wifi have to be your own personal wifi or can this work on public wifi?

I did recently use a VPN so that is no doubt why but do you know why a VPN would cause it to do that?
Really not sure WHY it happens, but whenever you create a new location on the network, the network has to assign it a new IP address.

This didn't work for me. In case it didn't for you, i'll share what worked in my case using a Macbook Pro with OSX 10.10.11 After speaking with ISP and troubleshooting til i found it was a USER problem (booted system with CMD+R and through the internet option i could finally navigate online, as well i opened a new user account and everything worked) i could then move on to my account settings. After speaking with Apple's technician, he figured out it could be a corrupt script. Indeed it was. Located here: MAC HD> Library> Preferences > System Configuration. Then DELETE "networkinterfaces.plist". Open System preferences and delete ALL previous known networks in your WIFI list. Create a new location and add your network. That solved my problem :)

Thanks Jano, this fixed my issue as well. Had to do the same with the bluetooth.plist file to get my speaker to stop showing up as a microphone also. What concerns me is that I don't know what other files have become corrupt along the way.

@@samruthpranavganesan9356 Click somewhere on your desktop and then click go on top of the bar at the very top. Then a list should drop down and from here click computer, from here it depends on what your hard drive is called. My is called 'Mac HD' Whatever yours is called will differ. I hope this helped.

Okay guys listen up i know some of us cant access the internet even with this guys help(im glad some of you made it)
Go to finders
Open macintosh hd
Open library
Open preferences
Open system configuration
Copy all the files
Make a new folder
Copy the files from system configuration and paste them on this new folder
Delete the files on system configuration (some wont idk why e.g. apple ones)
Restart your mac
Let me know if it helps.
