It worked!!!! My Mac was showing as connected to the internet but the pages wouldn't load. Drove me crazy for two days. Followed your guidance and it fixed it - thank you so much!
Amazing. This actually worked extremely well. Usually TH-cam videos have fixes that work to everyone’s problem, except yours. This was fantastic. Worked great! Thank you
What do we do in proxy? Mines doesn’t seem to keep the connection it comes and goes until it disables than I need to restart even after doing what video said.
Thanks for your efforts. My MacBook didn't have some of the texts that you said to click on. I have "no airport card installed" when I click on the non-active wi-fi icon at the top menu bar. I admit that I'm a klutz when it comes to computers. I also called the Mac help line with no result there, either.
IT WORKKSSSS, I just redid my location and it worked like magic! how crazy is that? I've been out of options for 3-4 hours and to think this video from 8 years ago helped me! damn gotta be something else
Hi my wifi icon is missing from the network drop down and isn’t showing up on the side bar? And I cant connect to the internet. What am I doing wrong or how can i add wifi to the interface to turn wifi on? It isn’t showing me or giving me an option?
My Mac version is macOS Mojave 10.14.5 My computer seems to connect internet but no connections. I restart my computer to connect and it’s just takes 10 min then it’s freeze again. Any other way to fix this issues??
Great video I’ll give that a shot as soon as I can, mine is iMac from 2010 and showing “ Wi-Fi no hardware installed” i reset and tried so many options press this press that even the Apple support couldn’t help me, even the ethernet wired connection directly to the modem is not working at this time but I’ll give this a shot.
This video you did explaining adding a "Test" wifi location is great. But do these same instructions also work for hardwired "Ethernet" connection? I used to be able to go to my Ethernet connection setting and turn it "Off" (and it would turn yellow) whenever I wanted. Then, when I'd simply go back to turn it "ON" again whenever I wanted and it would turn green. However, something happened to my Ethernet connection and when I turn it "OFF", it actually doesn't turn it off, it just stays on. So just wondering if you have a solution for my particular issue? Thanks and blessings !
And do you do if you don’t get “make service active” but instead “make service inactive” while it is obvious that WiFi is already inactive. No networks shown, when clicking on switching WiFi on the status stays off. Maybe hardware problem. ?? Help
Very good explanation; thanks. My problem was that if I restarted my MacBook Pro (OS 10.14.6) it would connect to the internet and work for a few minutes in which I could get on the interenet and receive and send mail. Then it would appear to be connected but nothing -- internet or mail -- would load. I am hoping this works! Thank you!
On my MacBook it doesn’t show the Wi-Fi tab at all. How do I get that back ? Could you also please show how to use Advanced setting to fix it ? Thank you
Click the apple logo in the top right corner of the screen, then select system preferences, then you will see the network options in the 3rd row. You can check the box at the bottom to show the wifi icon in the toolbar. hope that helps
Evan Bobbitt actually that’s where I had problem, there was no WiFi tab at all, so I took it to the Apple store and they said It’s a problem in operating system. They are fixing it anyways thank you for your help.
Hi thanx for the great video however problem with my MAC is, it’s saying WiFi on, unable to connect to internet however internet is working on other device, I have tried all you have said in this video, unable to fix it, I was wondering if you could help
Best next thing to try is to fully shut down the computer. Then right after you push the power button to turn it back on hold the following 4 keys all at the same time: Command + Shift + R + P. You should press and hold them right after pressing the power button then keep holding them until you see the computer turn off, keep holding, then it will turn on and you will hear the apple chime, keep holding, and it will do this process a second time. Then you can release and let the computer boot normally. This process is called a PRAM reset and although it is not needed often, it does fix lots of minor hardware issues which may be happening. Hope that helps!
I have a similar problem, connected to wi fi but no internet , every time I restart the MacBook it starts working again, after a while it stops, follow what you , did no help
What if my wifi is connected but the internet won’t connect. Also tried connecting it to an Ethernet cable and the internet still won’t work. I just installed an ssd drive and more ram on my 2013 iMac.
I have Mac air 4 years oldV.10 Can’t get on internet at home It says it is connected to my Wi-Fi network correctly 4:19 but that the computer can’t reach internet because the computer is “off-line” Any suggestions? Thanks Jk
How do I get rid of all my old Wi-Fi Networks??? They are not listed in my Preferred network list, so I cannot delta them. This is frustrating. Thanks for the help???
Select the network that you want to remove on the list, then click the "-" button unter the list. You should see the + and - next to one another. Click the - for all the networks to remove. Hope that helps.
My wifi turns on but it would not find my connection unless i go like 10m to the box 😅 Even in same room, i cannot move away 2 more inches. When i am close enough, it connects but move away a bit and its back out. I have tried a bunch of fixes including this but it doesn’t work, could it be hardware? I just bought my pc days ago though 😢
So I bought a 2nd hand macbook air and trying to hotspot it to my phone for internet but I can't connect to my password internet as it times out, so I changed it to a open hotspot but it comes up on computer as self assigned IP address how do I get around this?
Hi Evan, I accidentally delete Wifi on the system preferences and when I tried to add another network, the WiFi option doesn’t show anymore, only ethernet, Bluetooth and thunderbolt and I don’t know what else to do 😭 can you help me with some advice?
Hey so I have a 15inch Late 2011 Macbook Pro. It is extremely slow. All devices I’m my home work well except my mac. I installed a SSD AND 16gb ram and running OS High Sierra. I thought with the upgrades it would be great. Its definitely not. Very frustrated. Any help would be appreciated.
I have this weird situation where on my Mac Pro running El Capitan-I don't show any Wi-Fi in the menu above or in the Systems Network. It used to be there, but when I tried to connect an extender there it wasn't there. I think the driver may be missing or corrupt. My wife picks up the wifi menu on her MacBook Pro. Although I am sitting in front of the router I cannot get the wifi. I have no clue, do I need to reinstall the wifi driver, if so where would I find one
