@Jessegomez976 Awww YAY🩵!!!! See, I feel the same way about Jared Goff, he really found himself in Detroit and although that basically sent him to die here b/c he media looks at us as nobodys, he got life breathed into him by ppl who just wanted to him and those around him succeed. Brock I've watched and I know how the media feels about him so that's why when the 49ers beat us, it was so hard to take but the better team won and a huge reason why the 49ers won was b/c of Brock Purdy. Both QBs had a redemption season and it was awesome to be apart of it all. And I love you right back😂 ::HUGS::

@@0nlytimeevrc0menting ::HIGH 5:: the Detroit area is like the dirty south of the midwest almost (just way more metropolitan lol). We have a good and bad but due to the codes we go by, a win is a win and the 49ers got it over on us, it was hard fought (that was an incredible comeback in the 3rd ok🔥) and the better team won. Most Detroit fans are rooting for the 49ers heavy lol I out that on everything I own👏🏼 Goodluck💯

Purdy is #5 in the league as of now. Mahomes, Allen, Burrow, Herbert, Purdy. His OL is below average. Great RB and some great talent to throw to, but his adj comp% at 20+ was like 68%. That's way ahead of the pack and that transcends system/supporting talent.
He hurt his draft stock in his final year, plus he's pushing the minimum of QB height, is not fast. Scouting trends favor athleticism in QBs even though we see time and again that doesn't matter. Looking forward to that trend passing by.

This is what Purdy's critics can't accept: calmness under pressure and good decision making are still the most important traits for a QB.
Extreme aheltic skill covers the lack of these traits and helps QBs like Jackson, Fields, and similar QBs to do very well.
Of course, the best thing is to have both like Mahomes Allen, but if it has to be one or the other, making good decisions trumps athleticism every time because it's not one on one out there. If you're just relying on athletic ability, it's one against eleven.

Nice breakdown, subscribed. Purdy hit the ground running in the NFL and it was obvious he benefited from a full 4 years of experience and development in college (which Trey Lance did not have). He's had rough stretches in both college and the NFL, but in my mind that was advance learning curve/bootcamp for being what he now is: a starting Super Bowl quarterback. It is also obvious from those mental tests and watching him play in the NFL, how fast his mind processes. Although he is not a giant physical specimen like Josh Allen or Trevor Lawrence, he has lightening quick feet to keep up with his processing power. He also has incredible heart - I think he's going to be a fixture in the league for a long time.

The only thing I have to dispute is his recovery from the UCL, during training camp the beat was he likely wouldn't be ready to start the season but managed to start the second preseason game only a couple weeks after he was cleared to throw. He said his arm fatigue was also responsible for the 3 game skid and it makes sense since he wasn't able to throw all offseason then after getting a week to rest he bounced back. I think a full offseason to ramp up his arm endurance will make a huge difference next season. Also consider that with all the weapons the 49ers had he had more throws over 30 air yards than all of shanahans QBs before him did combined. He put the offense on another level

If Purdy was a second-rounder people would say he was living up to expectations.
Since he went last, (almost a UDFA ), those same people want to pick him apart and criticize him for having a wealth of talented skill players around him.
The fact is that the scouting departments of all 32 teams screwed up. Multiple times.

Bp had ALOT of playing time. Its really helped him out in the nfl. He makes the 1-2 and 3 overall picks look sorta not worth the money they get when he's the very very last pick AND got hurt just to come back and make it to thr Superbowl to play against gotdamm Patrick Mahomes. Less than 2 full seasons and here he is. Wow.... Brock if u can beat Brady on your first nfl start u can beat Patrick mahomes but boy you better play probably better than you have ever even thought about playing. Bp is my favorite quarterback and is the best in the league since he started in the NFL imo. He has a pretty bad oline, last pick, got hurt and had surgery yet still comes back to head to Superbowl the very next season. 1 and a half seasons he's been in the nfl yet leads everyone in deep passes, slants literally everything

Excellent, excellent work! Been a Brock Purdy fan since my Niners drafted him. I knew about him a little before the draft, but because at that time we were so set on going with Trey Lance (whose skillset I also really liked coming out of college), I didnt do a deep dive into scouting Purdy. Once we drafted him though, I saw a guy with great mechanics, underrated mobility, and one of the more accurate arms in the draft. I probably would've had a 3rd/4th round grade on him (which apparently is the story recently about where Kyle Shanahan had him rated--4th round). I would've put him even higher, had the measurables not been such a huge factor in the scouting process. Also, despite his slower 40 time, his sneaky athleticism was shown at least in his 10-yard split, which was 1.55, which is just .01 seconds sloer than Lamar Jackson's 1.54. And then as you mentioned in the video, there was his S2 Cognition score, that would've been enough for me to take a flyer on him at least as a 3rd round compensatory pick type guy, even if I didnt love his measurables, which I personally think are a bit overblown these days. 6 feet and a half is still taller than Russell Wilson and right on par with Drew Brees. At 212 pounds at the combine (listed at 220 today) thats plenty of strength at his height to play in the NFL. Lots of things were overlooked by scouts, and thats something that more than anything caused Brock to slip into the back end of the draft, instead of closer to the middle of it at worst. Glad Kyle Shanahan saw something different in him compared to most talent evaluators in the league.
