I add a topcoat the next day. It minimizes air bubbles. ❣️I also clip them with my cuticle clippers instead of file them and it minimizes white tips. I love your videos. You are fun to watch. I feel like I’m talking with my girlfriend. I have shared your tips and tricks video with several of my friends. God bless.

Mineral Fusion is the best to use and use nail clips and cotton rounds with them to take it off. Also Hard as Hoofs is a good nail cream to use. Especially with washing your hands as much as you do. Keeping them fresh put them back in your package and put in a ziploc bag and put them in the freezer. Love ColorStreet.

Adding a good, clear top coat a few days later helps seal the the edges so they don't catch on your hair. Be sure to seal the ends of your nails too.😊

Reseal the nail pouch and then stick them in the freezer. That what I do and I have yet to have dried out strips. You can also double layer the strips on the nail to help with breakage and apply a clear top coat to help them last.

I don’t sell, but I’ve worn over 100 sets over the last few years and have researched thoroughly. Here are my tips for anyone who cares to read them:
The trick to reusing is to get them back in the package & reseal ASAP. Put them right back in the package after you pick the ones you’re going to use. Don’t let the extras sit in the open air while you’re applying.
Make sure they’re sealed all the way across with your iron or flat iron.
Do not use a lighter to reseal. These are real nail polish so they’re flammable.
Chemically speaking, putting them in the freezer is unnecessary & doesn’t increase longevity at all. The important part is getting them sealed.
When applying, make sure to get a good seal all the way around the nail without leaving any on your skin or cuticle. A cuticle pusher is helpful to get into the nooks and crannies, but thumb nail works, too.
I cut mine in half and use the 1st half on my left hand & second half on my right, starting with pinky & working to thumb.
I never use a liquid top coat. That’s just a personal preference. I enjoy the zero dry-time. I just put them on right before bed so they don’t get wet or bumped while they’re trying to cure.
I hope this is helpful! I hope you enjoy them as much as I do!

Yep, the more you use Color Street, the more tricks you learn. I use a "hard as nails" type polish, then put the strips on, then use a top coat polish. A Color Street rep would recommend the clear strips or using two strips, but I am cheap, and I don't sell them. After you use the hot iron to seal the package, store them in the freezer in an envelope. As far as removing the glitter nail polish, follow the tip from your nail salon, soak your nails in the remover for about 5 minutes. Use a cotton ball to pull the softened polish straight off, not sure how exactly Wendi got so much glitter everywhere. My nails usually last 2 full weeks. I do sometimes have to file the ends a little. It is also recommended that you "rest" your nails with no manicure once in a while. Before I started using a "hard as nails" base, my nails cracked and peeled. You may think that using the bottom and top coat defeat the purpose of using the strips, but I am awful with polish - I have to use my left hand to put polish on my right hand - that doesn't work for me!! And I could never create the designs that are available. I think they are as pretty as many salon nails for a fraction of the cost!

So, as another CS user, not consultant…
They say 7-10 days, the 10-14 is with a double layer (clear as day or the clear pattern overlays work great).
Freeze your extras in a ziploc bag, so much easier than the straightener.
Mineral fusion nail polish remover works so much better than the acetone. I used to do the acetone all the time and tried the mineral fusion when I ran out.

And you get 32 in the pack so you can use it for several manicures

So Color Street is a 1 time use. You can save them but they aren’t guaranteed. You are lucky you have short mail beds, when I do mine I have maybe a few strips left. I can’t use both ends of the strip. I use 1 strip per mail. Now I can use that end piece and do my toes too! The other thing is depending on how old your girls are, kids nails are VERY oily. So more than likely that’s why they didn’t last! You can try dawn dish soap to wash with before application next time for them but they are for adults for this reason. Good luck and I hope you will try them againz

I'm a Color Street Stylist, and a better hack for keeping them fresh is to put them in a zip-loc bag and put in the freezer. To reuse, bring out the ones you want and bring them to room temp before applying. Also, It's much easier taking the strips off if you place nail polish remover in a ramekin, soak your nails, and take off with a cotton ball. Glitters, no matter kind of polish, is always the hardest to get off!!!,. I also use an orange stick to go around my cuticles after applying them. I'm a nurse and am washing my hands 100's of times a day, and I do a lot of crafts and stuff at home, and mine will last nearly 2 weeks, more if I use gloves.

I seal them with scotch tape and then put them in a ziplock with a paper towel. And put them in the freezer. I’ll take out the set I want. I get my hands and the nail strips at room temperature and put them on. I have been able to keep them on the longest 3-4 weeks. I clean my garage, do yard work. House cleaning etc.

I’ve used some now early 2021 or late 2020 that I had leftover from Fall of 2019. So they do last and you can reuse them. I don’t freeze mine, but I do make sure to get the air out. Only one package of the glitter ones that I didn’t seal right away, then they did dry off before the last use. I have short nails so I get 3 manis out of each package. I don’t sell them.
The ones at Walmart, they are front the same manufacturer (incoco and coconut nail art). Same formula, same everything... just not MLM, so they’re cheaper since they don’t have to account for the commission that color street does.

My mom sells colorstreet and she LOVES the glitters as well but they are such a pain to get off, she uses these nail polish removing clips and I think the brand is bittb but they are SO much easier. All you do is add nail polish remover to a cotton pad, place it on the nail, and add a clip, after you wait a while you just take it off and it makes removal a ton easier. With the solid colors or just regular nail polish these clips also work very well and with me it just takes two swipes max after it sits. I hope this helps and you enjoy colorstreet nails more in the future😊

The best way to get them off with less mess is to use Mineral Fusion Nail Remover. You can get it on Amazon for about $8. Get some nail remover clips. They works much better for removing. Also, with the kids..... put them on right before bed. Kids are 100 times rougher than adults. They will cure over night and hold better. Don’t give up. The more you use them you will find you own tricks of the trade that works for you.

After about 5-7 days I also get the rough edge near the cuticle. I just take a Q-tip with some polish remover and wipe it near the cuticle. Not enough to o take off the polish, but just to smooth that edge. Also, I notice that the glitters tend to chip near the free edge more than the solids. The large glitters even faster than the small glitters. When resealing, I cut the full strip in two or three sections, fold the open end, and take a lighter to reseal the edge. Last tip is nail polish remover caps are a lifesaver with the glitter. I take cotton pads and cut in half. Put them in a small dish with polish remover then add the soaked pads on the nails with the clips. Five minutes later, with a little rubbing it comes right off. If not, add a little more remover and wait a couple more minutes. Easy!

I really wish stylists would quit recommending the baggie method of removing your strips! I’m an Independent Stylist and when I first saw the baggie “trick” I tried it before passing it on to any of my girls. I’m a glitter freak, and like you I had glitter everywhere!!! I had to do a fresh baggie just to get the glitter off and by the time I was done my hands were burning. I recommend getting a set of nail clips and I use a cotton ball ripped in half soaked in nail polish remover (whatever kind you have is fine) clip the cotton balls on one hand at a time and let sit for 5 minutes. If the nail strip doesn’t immediately come away with the cotton ball, gently wipe away any remaining strip/glitter.
As for the resealing the strips, I have found that keeping my strips in the freezer is what works best for me. The ones that I have resealed and left out on my desk have dried out much faster (these statements are not endorsed by Color Street and are the sole opinion of this individual 😉). The reason why there are so many strips in the package which seems wasteful to some, is because we don’t all have small nails. Our nails come in all shapes and sizes and Color Street wants to ensure that every woman can be able to do her nails and feel beautiful with a single package of Color Street nail strips.
When my daughter (9) does her nails, she gets the best application when she washes her hands with dish soap and uses the prep pad.

I always wear glitters and I use the baggie method to remove them every time. I only use Mineral Fusion polish remover and I never have leftover glitter or anything close to what this person had after using pure acetone. The clips are a PITA, the baggie is so easy!

  • @Seypup
    @Seypup 3 ปีที่แล้ว

First of all the baggy method works great for removing fake nails. I don’t think I would use it for regular nail polish I would just use one of those jars or for glitter those nail clips may work very well
Do not pull the color Street off even if it says you can I did that the first time and it took two months before my nails were back to normal again they kept chipping and were very thin
Are use a basecoat then apply the nail strips and then a topcoat and apply the first topcoat to the tips and along the edges and then a second coat and a topcoat
That may seem extreme but I am a nurse and I find that with the topcoat ceiling around the edges and the tip I get less water and ourell under them and they last a lot longer
But I think to be more fair you should also try the brand Lily and fox
They probably are not American made, but most of their strips are 2.99
    They didn’t charge me shipping
And I hate to say it but the first once I tried weren’t even gel and they lasted longer than color Street even at the hospital.
I want a Colorstreet on vacation and they didn’t last as long
I think their designs are comparable but their customer service is insane
I got a personal note with my first order and they were extremely helpful
Oh also I also use the little rubber pushers I got a whole bunch of them cheap from Amazon more than I will ever need and I find these work better than pushing them on with your hands
    1. Wash your hands including scrubbing under your nails and dry well
    2. Prep your nails with the alcohol wipe or with nail polish remover to remove oil‘s especially if you have oily skin and nails as polished and lift off faster
    3. Applying a clear basecoat seems to make them stick better and last longer as well
    4. Apply the nails trying to handle them as little as possible. Wendy handled them much more then I do but it was her first time
I don’t pull the little silver thing off I use that to guide the placement on the first nail then I cut the excess off with manicure scissors,
Use the end I’m not going to use to place on the other side after I pull off the silver tab
So I do same nails at the same time - do both pinkies etc
I’ve been smooth them down with one of those rubber cuticle pusher’s starting from the cuticles and I smooth them out and push them under the cuticle so they’re not on top and down along the edges
I use my thumb nail to push the polish underneath the nail before I pull it off
For the thumb I use the sharp side of the cuticle pusher to push it under the nail
    5. Apply your favorite topcoat just at the tips and on the edge of the tips seal seal the edges
Then apply a second coat starting at the cuticle making sure to cover the tip again
Using a basecoat and topcoat might seem almost like putting on polish but using these strips your nails dry quicker and they don’t scuff
Also it looks more like a professional manicure for those of us that are not very polished illiterate which I am not. Anybody can do a good job with clear.
    6. Because I am a nurse and I wash my hands a lot I reapply the topcoat in 3 to 5 days depending on what’s going on and how they look and that seems to help them last
Now none of the brands of last for two weeks for me but again wash my hands all the time pushing and pulling equipment at work all the time and using a lot of purell.
I got almost 10 days off of one set this way which is miraculous for a nurse.
So hope for any of you that are more budget conscious I would suggest you try Lilly and fox
You can get two manicures out of2.99, Plus you have extra strips that don’t quite fit very well but you can use to make a design with or give to a friend who’s nails are different sizes than you

You could have possibly put them too close to your cuticles and that’s why the came off? Also, give it 30 min before getting your hands wet.
Get nail clips! They are super cheap. They hold cotton balls on your nails! They are the best.
I have maybe 30 sets that have been closed with a flat iron. They are really a one time use product. That being said I’ve never had an issue. You just need to make sure they aren’t too cold or not too hot.
I feel like kids nails are harder. They are smaller. So if they are on the cuticle or on the skin they will come off faster. If I don’t try too hard putting them on my kids, they come off quickly.

    • @WildlyUnconventional
      @WildlyUnconventional 3 ปีที่แล้ว

Then be sure to keep her from getting her hands wet for an hour after applying.

To seal up my unused nails, I pull them apart into strips of 2 and then crease the end of the plastic and seal it with a lighter. I have so many strips that I have used a year after for the 2nd time and they were just as great as when I originally opened them.
Also, I predominantly use glitters and just use regular cotton balls and polish remover to get them off and have never had a glitter mess. It might just have been the method you used.

I noticed that mine don’t last that long either... maybe less than a week, but I like to give them the benefit of the doubt since I also do a lot of dishwashing and hand washing. Even getting gel nails at the salon don’t last for me. I definitely think it beats having to paint my own nails and going through all the smudges; and I buy them to help the girl’s business. I usually just buy them directly from the girl when she has her personal inventory sales at home... I get them for like $10 and no shipping fee. Oh, and I rarely do my nails, but when I do, I use both strips on my toes and fingers to make sure they don’t go to waste. Even then I’ve had a few extra strips leftover so I’ve resealed them with my hot iron. I have yet to try them, but I’ve heard other TH-camrs (just now) say the same thing

@@WendiLee I have found Mineral Fusion at Whole Foods.
Not sure if anyone else addressed the longevity of the nail strips on your little ones. Children's nail beds can be especially oily. When I apply Color Street nail strips on the little ones (8 and 11) in my life, I have them wash their hands first and then clean each nail immediately before putting the strip on (as opposed to wiping all the fingers at the start). I also instruct the little one to try as hard as possible to not fiddle with their fingers for a few hours (easier said than done, I know). This is Melissa Woods, not Mike Woods. I am an Independent Stylist with Color Street. I love the product, so I wanted to comment.
First of all, Color Street, (the company) states clearly the strips are ONE USE - once open, the strips will dry out.
However... there are "hacks" that will make them last longer (as some comments below have already stated).
Return the strips to their original packaging (which is a PITA, but is easier if you pull the strips apart into individuals, instead of the whole strip of 8), and reseal with a flat iron, regular iron, or scotch tape. Put that package into a "ziplock" type bag, and put it in the freezer.
When you are ready to re-use, bring them back to room temperature, and they will become more pliable. [Color Street says "use at room temperature" - your hands and the strips should not be cold.] You can use a hair dryer to warm them up, or sit on them for a few minutes (seriously). The more pliable they are, the better your results will be. (This goes for brand new fresh strips, as well.)
ALWAYS clean and prep your nails. Dish soap (like Dawn or Joy) works well to remove oiliness. I use rubbing alcohol on a cotton ball (in place of the alcohol prep pads they provide) to clean each nail right before application.
Warm hands and strips + clean nails = flawless application.
Once you have your gorgeous manicure, there are little steps you can take to maximize your results.
SOLIDS - as with "wet" nail polish, "creme" type colors do not last as long as "shimmers" or "glitters". I don't know the chemistry behind nail polish manufacturing, but if you use regular nail polish, then you probably have noticed this difference.
-- In regards to Color Street -- double up on the solid strips. You will definitely get longer lasting results (as with normal polish - who uses just one coat??).
GLITTERS/SHIMMERS - If you clean and prep your nails properly, you can EASILY get 7 days out of a set. Doubling up on a set should get you 12+ days. Personally, the longest I have worn a set (doubled) was 12 days. I changed it because I wanted to change my mani - not because it was getting crappy and needed to change it.
NOTE: Removal of glitter polish is ALWAYS a PITA!! I have never used the "warm water/baggie" method, but it even sounds messy. I use cotton balls and acetone. Sure - there is rogue glitter around, but not nearly as much of a mess as Wendi experienced with the bag. ]Don't blame Color Street for that one...]
ADVICE FROM AN EXPERIENCED COLOR STREET USER - most stylists recommend adding a clear top coat of some kind after a day or two. I like to think it "seals the deal" and gives a shiny (or matte) boost to your manicure. My current manicure is going on 6 days. I have one layer of OPI plumping top coat over my Color Street strips. I have ZERO wear, chips, or separation. As a stylist, I make sure I change my mani once a week, but I HATE to remove it when it still looks this good. And it usually DOES still look good... And be advised -- I do dishes regularly (at least twice a day), and live on a "farm" with horses and chores and non-girly stuff.
Bottom line - this is an excellent product. It is easy to use and is made from very high quality nail polish. Like any product, user error minimizes results, and with just a little TLC, you WILL be amazed...
I DON'T LOVE THIS PRODUCT BECAUSE I SELL IT -- I SELL THIS PRODUCT BECAUSE I LOVE IT...

My stylist sent me these nail clips for removing the strips. All I do is soak a cotton pad with remover, place the pad on the nails of one hand, hold the pads in place with the clips, wait about 5-ish mins, and then take the clips off. That's it. The entire strip - polish, glitter, and adhesive - comes off in one "piece" on the pad. No rubbing and no glitter on my skin.

Also, I've heard about the flat iron hack. I don't have a flat iron, so I just put the left over strips in a snack-size zip lock bag, smooth out all the air, and seal the bag. The strips have still been good 2-3 weeks later. Another tip I've heard but haven't tried, if it's going to be longer than 2-3 weeks before you use the rest, place the sealed bag in the freezer. Just remember to allow the strips to come to room temp prior to applying.

Save them in your freezer, it helps to make them last longer. I use the leftover strips several months later. I do not have issues. I use them as accent nails. I have been using color street for 6 weeks. I'm on my 4th set. Mine last a min of 10 days. I've gone 15 days and took it off because of natural nail growth and wear on the tips but no chipping. I do a lot of dishes with very hot water and i don't use gloves. I batch cook on the weekends and also do dishes daily along with cleaning the home. I also did my nails and 2 weeks later did my friend's nails with my left overs and they went on beautifully and hers lasted a full 10 days min. All glitter nail polish is a pain to remove. Acetone must be used if you want fast removal. I have noticed that If I get catching at the base it is due to application error. I've over lapped the strip on my cuticle but that is on me. Incoco and incoco coconut are part of color street. Incoco came first and actually the creator of color street created the nail polish strip and initially was the developer of the Sally Hansen Salon nail effects from 10 years ago. He then decided to take his product on his own and created incoco and incoco coconut which then developed to the high end Color Street. That information is readily available on the internet. It's no secret. I have used both incoco and color street. Color street has more variety and high end styles. Incoco is limited in styles. I'm currently wearing incoco but I'm obsessed with color street. I view incoco coconut as high school, incoco as college and color street as adult.

I just use the Target brand nail polish remover container that has the rubber scrubber in it (You just insert 1 finger at a time). It will give you your sanity back with removing the glitter Color Street polishes! GAME CHANGER, I promise :)

You can buy incocco at Ulta too. On sale for $4. the incocco at Walmart doesn't have as big of a selection as Ulta. And Walmart also have Coconut by incocco. But it's only 12 strips. Not 16 but 2 solid sets have 4 accent nail strips.

The Incoco were the first run for Colorstreet. Once they are gone they are not supposed to be any new ones. I used to sell Colorstreet...lol
Might I add...I do like Colorstreet, but if you're frugal, they do seem wasteful. 👍🏼😉

Incocco used to be a website on its own. Years ago. And they had a selection of over 100 designs and colors. I use to buy them all the time. If I would have known they were trying to phase out before color street started I would have bought them up. I loved that site!
