Great video! One idea you can try this summer: do the runs while measuring your heart rate between the timers, that could account for fatigue and effort
Love the video and the rigorous testing. I tested the Maxfly against the Rival S and found them a half second faster in the 100m and a full second faster over 200m. I am certainly past my prime as a sprinter but I found a real difference in the shoes.
Maybe you can run with someone who is faster than you in the test. Some competition can push you to reach the max speed. The test can be two runs. The faster guy runs in Superfly Elite 2 only. You run in Maxfly Proto and Superfly Elite 2, respectively. The guy's result can be a reference for you to make comparison.

@@OllyArthey no way if you want to compete at the Olympics you have to be close to 10 or better sub 10 times. Can't believe he only ran 11.27 seconds, I mean I as an amateur ran a 11.0 So he definetely has to be faster than that.
Hi, what do you think about Asics Metasprint Tokyo? I have this spikes and I've never seen shoe hard like this one (extremely hard sole completely made from carbon fiber). My experience is that hard sole helps me with relaxing in finish and at 200m gives me more power in the end of run. I'm feeling like I wear springs intead of shoes.
I have these, and the maxflys. The asics are too stiff IMO and inhibit your acceleration a bit. But they are very nice for top end speed. Maxflys are better as they're more balanced.
Whatever you have. Just use the Maxfly for certain workouts and wear them going into the season to be used to them. I’ll keep using my superfluous elite 2 in practice and wear the Maxfly 1-2 before competition.
Ideal world is train in what you race in. The problem is that the maxflys have entirely different mechanics than other spikes. So do form drills in your expensive spikes, but use other spikes for everything else and you’ll be chillin
Great video👍🏻 I’m searching for good running shoes for my 3K run on a track with a pace of 3:45min /km. I thought about the Nike zoomx dragonflys. Do you have any recommendations? Would you pick a long distance spikes or a different kind of shoe? Thanks for your help!
lol I would say as being a track star for years everybody body is different it all boils down to the lighter the track shoe the faster you will run all the other crap he talking is bogus lol I’ve ran some of the same times my whole entire track career with many different track shoes all the shoes do is some give more cushion some give more support some are lighter which causes faster leg reaction lol The video basically just showed which shoes is lighter and more comfortable 🤣
Dude have you ever sprinted in your life, you realize sprinters are suppose to run on the balls of their feet. Also no, if you heel strike you risk fracturing and injuring yourself more.
@@certifiedbruhmoment2173 you have not taken a biology course have you, the toes are not meant to endure most of the impact. you are less likely to break when running as intended by human mechanics of the foot, heel first. i asked my orthopedic dr about this topic she said striking with the ball of the foot leads to permanent foot damage and screwed up metatarsals. buddy science is universally right your opinion is not and the achilles heel if healthy should not and never has been in issue as the calf muscles are there for a reason,

Half a second is a bit excessive, I guess it depends on how good you are. I doubt elite level sprinters improve by more then 0.02 with those shoes
