Mate I’m a boilermaker/fabricator/coded welder with 30 years experience and without a doubt your Eye for detail and working out fabrication techniques without the perfect tooling is A class.
You should have you own fabrication business/ workshop because your 100% on the mark 100% of the time,
Thank you!!
Agreed!!
@@austinniemela got any templates for a T-100? This is something I’ve been wanting to do to mine. Excellent work btw
@@mikelothbrok1485 I fully agree Mike!
Forget the fabricating. The editing, sound and pacing of the video is excellent
Incredible looking bumper. By kicking wings up 2 degrees makes it look better than any other bumpers I have seen. You were able to close the gaps. Great work.
Those things are lethal might as well call it vandalism when it hits mine I should go get a hammer and smash some truck windows no wonder your insurance is so expensive, you can't do that you truck or park near a car or handicap stall with one of those
@@adaptercrash what are you talking about 🤣
Bumper looks great!
Just a little tip for when you, or anyone building one, cuts out holes for lights: After you have your hole laid out, create another line 1/4" offset to the inside of your cutout, at the intersection of the inside lines, drill a 1/2" hole. This will create a nice radius for you to cut up to, providing both a cleaner finished look and making it easier to remove the cutout plate. This strategy could work for light holes, winch holes or whatever cutout features you have.
why you have such fab skills.
Cuz I want to
Did you ask why? Because he worked for it lol dude got skills for sure
@@austinniemela hey that circular saw you use can you tell me the brand and model I like it and want one for the shop
@@andrewerickson6690 Eastwood! I have a link in the description!
@@austinniemela ok thanks I guess I didn't see it thanks
I thought it was really cool that you open sourced your bumper template, you went the extra mile and you didn't really have to, much appreciated 👍
Dude! That bumper looks sic af. You're like a surgeon with that grinder and your technique is very thoughtful and skillful even with limited tools. Not many people can appreciate this kind of work, good job man...
Thank you man i appreciate it!!!
Said it once said it 600 times - its the work ethics.
Just to give us a 0-85% in one video 72H fillming and editing - and a full print ...
In one video ! My god Austin you are a beast. You are great channel to follow on youtube .
Thank you bro!! 👍👍
Your generosity is truly appreciated, this brings to mind what sort of attitude Fellow hobbyist should have, rest assured we will support your channel all the way, you rock man!.
Dear Austin, your work is amazing, when you explain the time spent for having all in line, I embrace it! I really like details and really appreciate your work. My first video, but when you said you give for free the prints you were working on 2 weeks, just for this, people should like and subscribe! You are a young and talented with interest for details, wishing you the best and will follow more of your videos!
Probably the best “how to” bumper building video I’ve seen.
Thanks for sharing, great work 👌🏽
Thank you!!
Agreed. Really took some of the mystery out of the design/layout.
@@austinniemela hi i am from mauritius i love the bumper and i make one for my hilux
Good job kid ! Everyone with a plastic bumper colorado must watch this! And the ones with no bumpers left!
man, this is by far, the best video on DIY bumper I have seen. so inspiring! and no fancy expensive shop machines! thank you very much for sharing this and the blueprints!
Man you are good. I Bodyman tech for 40 year and I learn something from you. Thank you. Good Job.
I appreciate that!
love this truck. Looks better than the red one IMO.
Man ! I must have watch this video at least 4 times a day, and some of your videos, can't stop watching it, great work, and i'm glad the time lapse are slow , that i can still watch what you're doing..
..
Thanks man!!
The bumper looks awesome and your way of building it is like art. There is a little problem with it though it blacks air flow to the radiator / trans cooler you might want to think about putting some louvers in the bottom section of it to let some air pass threw to save the engine transmission life.
Dude, before you paint it, captured nuts for the turn signals and license plate. Awesome job on the bumper.
Brilliant job mate your one talented dude, Happy New Year from Australia.
Thanks, you too!
Dude, getting it to fit that way on the first try is unreal.. You have some mad skills.. Awesome job
I really love how your giving us time perspectives, I really try to get the same level of detail and attention to detail as you and it really gives me an idea of how long this stuff really takes to achieve. Big fan from aus
Thanks man! 👍
Yep having a pattern is always nice, when I build loader buckets fork lift hooks, I made a template for the next one and so on, in my service truck I had all kinds of them, as a mechanic on heavy equipment, I opened up my field into fabing things, all kinds of things, and thanks for sharing your thoughts and great videos
Thanks!!
I really appreciate your work! Love how everything comes out 🔥
Glad you enjoy it!
Teléfon number please

Wow what a great job you did Austin! You and a couple of other TH-camrs inspired me to buy a welder and do a bumper. It took me a wee bit more hours of fab than what you show here. My results are “good” (functional but with a few blemishes). I am now looking around my garage and thinking of all of the stuff I can build. So much fun and so satisfying. Thanks for sharing your work here and inspiring others.
Awesome man!!
I'm also an expert at CAD. Cardboard Aided Design!
CAD LOL
This CAD sometimes work better then AutoCAD
Right now, cad is very basic every where, unless you know terms in engineering
@PNW car mods: if it looks stupid and works, it's not stupid.
,¥.
I'm a novice welder. Enjoyed the video, good presentation and bumper design.
Woah! That's bad ass! I've enjoyed seeing the channel blow up, and following you this year. Looking forward to future endeavors! Happy New Year!
Thanks for taking the time to explain more for us who are not exactly sure how to tackle a project, you give me confidence to at least try, again thank you 😊
You can do it man!! Thank you!
Damn that bar looks good! Would love to do something like this on my L67 swapped LN106 but don't want to risk taking a kangaroo through the grill/headlights/etc so have to stick with the full on "hopper stopper" that has protection up high...
I wish I still had my 91 to work on, I like your builds brother!
WOW DUDE U GOT SOME SKILLS WITHOUT A DOUBT.THAT BUMPER IS LIKE U BOUGHT OUT OF A CUSTOM MAGAZINE ONE OF A KIND FOR SURE I WONDER HOW IT WILL LOOK ON A 2001 CHEVY SILVERADO
Is there enough room back there to make an integrated winch mount? That would look so sweet to have a fairlead in the middle of that bumper, especially since you are adding shackle mounts. 👊🏻
Great video. My first time seeing this n I must say I'm very impressed with the time n attention spent on getting the right angles etc.
Thank you!
That would even look great on a Cherokee ,or a Nissan Fronter.
Imagine having that in Aluminum .
I could see a Market
Much respect for providing us with details and all the templates. Thank you.
That looks great, unfortunately for me my metal skills are such that my bumper would be cardboard, and I will need to replace it every other day. You could sell that all day long, especially if it was winch ready. Happy New Year
That bumper design is amazing. Looks better than some of the commercial offerings. Almost looks like it could have come from Toyota if they did heavy duty bumpers. Great fabricating skills.
Thank you!!
Your fabrication skills are amazing! I’ve been looking for a bumper like this for my 1990 Toyota 4Runner with no body lift and hoping your blue prints will match up. Your gonna be selling a lot of these because all the companies out there are kind of ugly in my opinion. Awesome job! Seriously!
Thank you!!! I am pretty confident the plans are spot on. It comes down to cutting the steel correctly. And with something like this that is welded together, it doesnt need to be insanely precise. Weld it together and grind it smooth!!
Awesome job given the tools that you have you have done an amazing job 👍
God bless you and stay safe in these troubled times 🙋♂️🇬🇧
Sweet !!! (get a plasma table, cut them out and sell it as a kit ? )
Different cars may be different lengths widths etc.
That truck is 200% better now great work interior, paint and bumper
Thanks man
11:35 is the most satisfying moment ever
PRO TIP...Bend the top all in one shot, then cut a wedge section out, bend the outer wings in to fit the curvature of the front of the vehicle. All the bends will be perfect and straight.
You just made some engineers head explode. Awesome job man.
Thank you man!!
CAD- cardboard aided design! great work, I love your videos.
Thank you very much!
Woo-hoo!...1st commenter...nice looking bumper settup.
you sir, are a very talented individual !!
Cardboard Added Design.. nice job 👍.. have a happy blessed new year
The one person who disliked this video does not own a Toyota truck.
F-M I had to go and check! now two thumbs down, what could you possibly not like in this video if you came hear about fabricating a front bar?
Or your right Nissan owner!
Haters give you something to stand on👍
He's a homosexual
Those 👎🏻 are most likely from idiots that do brake checks on the hiway, or like to cut into spaces that "shouldn't" be available without dominating your drive by cutting in.
That bumper tells them that you now don't really care about what his car is going to look like afterwards. 🤣🤣
I have front & back bumpers. Never before have I had "respectful" drivers around me like I do now. They to scared to take on excess damage & see you just wipe their paint off your bumper & drive off with no damage.
😀 That happened to me recently 😀
I don't own a Toyota but still think it's awesome.
Bro you’ve got some insane skills man, amazing video, definitely motivated me to not spend 1200$ for my 17 Silverado bumper but instead make one for myself .. very very helpful thanks so much for sharing
Do it man!! Thanks!
What gauge sheet metal did you use for the bumper and the mounts?
Second this, don't know why it wasn't mentioned.....
Mounts are all 1/4”. Plate is 1/8” I wanted to keep this one light weight. I’d do 3/16” if your going for beef
Thanks. This was my question as well. I’ve been working on a bumper very similar but will have a winch mount.
@@davidmoon2123 nice! 3/16 would be good for a winch bumper. I just wanted to stay light!
@@austinniemela Thanks, I was thinking the same. Mine is for an '88 with 1.5" lift. There are already design elements I'm going to change based on yours. It looks really nice. I'm not nearly the welder you are so I'm going to need a lot of flap disks and paint.
Thank you. Really nice of you to go the extra mile to assist with plans. Excellent job. What would have been nice was to make provision for a winch.
Looks great. Take care of those lungs while grinding, we need you around.
Gotta get yourself a sheet folder brother. Even a cheaper manual one would save you a tonne of labour time.
Love the vid, you've got an amazing eye for detail.
who else came here with no fab or welding skills whatsoever but is just so impressed?
it's great that you shared the templates! thanks!
FINALLY another person that has common sense. A lot of those small tube bumpers have less protection than the stock bumper from the factory.
Thanks Austin, you went above and beyond on this one ☮️
I appreciate that!
I think it’s good that it doesn’t line up exactly in some areas. Proof that you did this yourself and didn’t buy it pre-made. Not that anyone would doubt it thou. Looks good. Giving me some ideas for my 89 Toyota.
Pretty awesome fabricating skills! Did it with all the shop tools most people have. Really good job and pretty smart at designing the bumper.
Thank you!!!
Excellent work! Love Your thought process, economy of steps and materials. This was extremely informative and entertaining. You have a bright future. Thank You for Sharing.
Glad you enjoyed it! Thank you!!
That was some really nice work dude!! Impressive!!!
Thanks for the templates bro
Learning a lot on this channel
You're a good fabricator. Respect!
I appreciate that!
I'm seeing a bumper in my head for a Bronco that I don't even own yet!! Great inspiration!
really nice work and attention to detail
Your builds are off the hook . Big inspiration
I love this bumper.....
Excellent job!
HAPPY NEW YEAR to you and your family!
Happy new year!
Now if I only had a Toyota to put it on lmao. Looking for inspiration for my xterra bumper I wanna make! Great video
Eye to detail is on point man you have mad skills bro inspiring aswell
This is what all your viewers want to see more of
Keep up the great content mate love it
Hey fellow knuckle dragger, first thank you for putting a filter on your camera while welding! Second dude! That's badass! You definitely have some mad skills. Thank you for taking the time to film and post the video, I also subscribed.
Thanks for the sub!
super cool bumper. great video, you have inspired me to build my own rear bumper for my 2010 ford ranger.
Damn bro that’s freaking awesome bumper ALOHA
13:38, real welder technique I see people ignore all the time, to create the V-notch aka the valley so that the weld is much stronger. Great work man nice bumper!
What a cool bumper man, better than factory!
Masterpiece.
Best regards from Guadalajara 👍🏼😉
Very nice job and clean!!! That's what I am talking about😃
Thanks 👍
Doing what you can with what you have. I love it. 👏👏👏
Thanks!!
Bumper looks great man. Following your channel this year has really inspired me and gave my the courage to tackle Jeep projects that I was nervous to do because of the tools I had. Thanks for all the great content man, you always deliver!
Awesome! Thank you!
Good process! Think thrice, measure twice, build once.
I like the scoring and bending method for bending without a brake, better than the slotting and bending and all that welding and grinding.
Have you ever tried scoring your big sheets with your portable steel saw? It could be done very accurately that way.
You got me wanting to get a plasma arc cutter and welder and of course a taco to play with. Great job
That looks pretty friggin good, I’m impressed.
Awesome video that bumper turned out beautiful. And making those templates for all of us massive respect man.
Good looking bumper man. I usually built tubing bumpers but will definitely build one like this soon for my 82.
Good job for the end year! The look of bumper is great and solid 👍
Amazing so beautiful beautiful
Would really want to start this on my truck... But I fear it won't be as easy as this guy made it look. Great job BTW. 😅
Thank you! I sell the plans to make it simple for you guys!!
This is just pure awesomeness
And all done without a brake table. Very nice 👍
I love that you make templates for your viewers... This is Sick!🔥🔥🔥
Thanks!
@@austinniemela You're Welcome always!
Impressive skills, and generous; I like this bumper for our 1998 Toyota 4Runner 👍
Real nice providing a template thanks mate
Nice design. Congratulations
Thank you!
I love the way that it looks
Great job and WAY nicer than a tube bumper.
Great job. Just a suggestion, bolt shackles to the bottom mount point. Would hide bolts and look cool?
this is really awesome. you came up with a great design. I have a gen 2 tacoma, but after watching this, I think im going to go with a similar design. I agree with you on your decision to go with a closed in design. thanks man!
Did the same with my 80 series LC, cardboard for the win, good job
This guy speaks with high confidence and at the same time seem irritated with everyth around. I LIKE IT!!! 😡 SUBSCRIBED!!! 😡 I NEED AN IRON BUMPER TOO 💪. I've just lost my ARB to a cow. It will not happen again!☝️No no no
Nice use of mock up patterns!
I really like the design on your bumper so I will build one for my Discovery 1 😊
