Tha is for checking this video out! Do you want to see me review more of these? Help spread the word about this video so it does well and I can afford another one lol!
As an owner of the v1 for a few years now I’m super excited to see what you think. It’s especially good for anyone who is taller, I’m 6’4 and can easily fit with other people. Also that tri layer really does its job against the elements
Yeah the V1 was what got my eye on FSR and then they ended up moving to Colorado so I figured I’d stop by and check them out. Fast forward a few days later and I was hooking up the new tent, lol.
@@Solefresh10 yeah I have the xl and fit with plenty of room but the length is the same on the regular if I remember. The dimensions are slightly different to a queen size bed.
I have the aspen lite and love it. Best tent I have owned (3rd one). The way they designed it you can stand up in it. Down side is no mounting on the side of the tent. I ordered the cross bars.
Yeah o saw the crossbars in person, it looks so good on the tent. Probably most things you want to mount on the side (other than awnings) will mount up there. Might do the Aspen Lite on our forester.
@@OXFOOT it’s a perfect tent for that vehicle. I can put the heated mattress, fitted sheet, topper and 2 pillows in it and close it up. Also would like to add they have great customer service.
True, but apparently people are telling me the hinges and the angle on their new tents make that not really an issue. Guess I gotta test out the aspens ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Man I really want to do that also. I’m from NC and watching Swell runner do it back in the day made me really want to run the whole thing. Let me know how it goes!
Okay well I’ll have to try that out. In previous clam shells I’ve had the part where the hinge is, it’s usually very tight. Maybe I’ll run another tent if theirs on my GFs car if this video does well.
@@Sergiop4x yeah that is a downside and the cross bars aren’t rated with the same weight on those but still a great concept at a good price. Maybe I’ll try it out.
Where's the ladder stored when the tent is closed? Are you able to sit upright at the tent entrance (feet on ladder) without slouching / head touching ceiling at the tent entrance? If yes, how tall are you? Were you able to store any bedding in tent when closed?
As always such a thorough review brother. Literally my favorite channel for gear reviews and this man is a fellow tundra bro 😂 that damn sand color is one of my deepest loves… army green, sand, mesquite brown and voodoo blue are probably my favourite colors… I have an 18 limited, I couldn’t find a voodoo blue but I got mesquite brown and I love her so much… but man, Toyota had some a amazing colors… OH! Cement/lunar rock I think it was called was amazing as well. My sister the slacker has an army green trd pro sequoia. I went off topic here but damn it I’m talking Toyota! 😂
I modeled my build off of a mesquite build I found before I bought my truck. The only difference was this one had a smart cap on it, which who knows, I may go with one day but yeah I think that one is underrated. I love the color on mine but I do think the army green is the best. I found one in a double cab but I didn’t want to fly all the way to NC to get it. It’s certainly my favorite. I really like the new mud bath color on the 2025 Toyotas also, somewhere between the mesquite and the quicksand.
Do you prefer a RTT like this compared to a popup truck camper like Oru, GFC, or Super Pacific? Campers seem so expensive and permanent. Do you think this FSR tent could fit on a Subaru with an upgraded roof rack? Thanks!!!
It would likely fit on a Subaru with a regular rack but the issue is weight. Subarus for what ever reason have a low roof weight rating so you could likely do my tent but you are at your limit. If you arent like 6’0 + the aspen lite will fit on the Subaru no issues.
Yeah I don’t love campers, it’s better than a RTT and topper for only camp with it but I’d rather have the topper and tent and be able to remove the tent if I need to.
I see a lack of vents at the highest point on the tent. Is condensation not an issue? GFC RTTs had this same major issue and they had to revise their product with a vent.
Almost that whole back wall is a vent so I haven’t personally noticed it. Maybe if it was like winter with a buddy heater it might be different. I’ll update you if that changes in winter camping.
The heat is the most comfortable. The air core from the FSR is also really good. They even have a 6” one now that I may try out. The FSR one is really good especially since you get it with the tent but the HEST is the best one in my opinion.
@@OXFOOT Thanks! Please let me know about the 6". I have the v1 of this tent that is exact same dimensions. I checked with FSR and they said I would have to take the 6" aircore in and out of the tent if I wanted to use it, but it's only 1.5" thick when aired out, and the 3" is 0.75" thick.
Answered in the other comment but it’s pretty good but compared to the Heat it’s nowhere near the same. The air core comes with the tent though so it save you a lot of money. I’d say air core plus a good sleeping bag with padding under it would be a solid setup.
Yeah I mean you can get those mats that go over the ladder but that’s assuming your dog with go up them and not be terrified. I know people that do it but if your dog doesn’t like being picked up or is too big it may not be worth the risk.
@@OXFOOT I've had her start to cimb a ladder once, my concern is more getting her down. I've never heard of those mats, I'll have to look them up. This is a super nice RTT, wouldn't mind having one.

Could you do a video about their sleep systems? Im interested to see if the tent closes if you use the fsr pillows, cloud topper or the 6” mattress

I like the orientation of this tent. Make a bit more sense for sleeping length wise, rather than with your feet in the wedge.

Gonna be taking the odyssey xl out for a two week trip on the Georgia traverse in January
Man I really want to do that also. I’m from NC and watching Swell runner do it back in the day made me really want to run the whole thing. Let me know how it goes!
I can stand up in my Aspen lite and I can still use my mattress fully, on either end. That high hinge really helps
Okay well I’ll have to try that out. In previous clam shells I’ve had the part where the hinge is, it’s usually very tight. Maybe I’ll run another tent if theirs on my GFs car if this video does well.
I'm also 5'7 so that's helps on my end 😅 yeah try it out! Biggest down fall in the lite I can't attach awnings and what not

He didn't mention the name of the last mattress. Is he talking about Hest? The aircore from FSR is more comfortable?

Raynor Prairie
What’s the random name scam?
$3,800 for a RTT is ridiculous!
Kinda standard at this point sadly. They’ve got a light weight cheaper one in the Aspen lite.
@@OXFOOT NatureNest at $1,200 is my direction. I appreciate you profiling this RTT but that’s just way beyond any reasonable price point.
black friday sale makes this tent in the price range it should be standard. but for what they all are they’re all overpriced
