    I have a 2006 Corolla. I had an intermittent problem with my blower motor, so I replaced it as outlined in this helpful video. But in my case, replacing the motor didn't solve my problem. I discovered that when I wiggled the blower motor relay, I could make the fan go off and on. I solved my problem by cleaning the contacts on the relay. The blower motor relay is located under the dash above the glovebox. The relay is hidden, and cannot be seen by looking under the dash. To access the relay, remove the glovebox. Reach under the dash and feel around toward the front of the dashboard. You'll feel three (3) relays located side by side. The blower motor relay is the larger of the three, and is the one located closest to the steering wheel. Pay attention to the orientation of the relay when you remove it. You won't be able to see it when it's reinstalled.

      That’s great information, thank you for your input and hopefully your comment will help someone. The blower motor resistor is another part that can cause the blower not to work at all or only work on one speed. Thank you for the comment, please share and subscribe.

      I've got the same car. Mine currently only works with the fan on the highest setting. Though the test light shows power at each fan speed setting. Was going to replace the motor but someone suggested maybe the relay. Guess I'm playing with the relay this weekend.

    Super easy way to test the motor is reach where the cabin air filter goes and spin the fan then turn it back on, if it's the motor that's the problem it'll work after spinning it.

    I loved this video. Good video angles. Clear. I have a question about my 07 Corolla heater. Blows fine but cold. When I accelerate it blows hot and then cool when idling. Any ideas?

    • @fixersautomotive4514
      @fixersautomotive4514  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Seems like to me that you are possibly low on engine coolant. If your coolant is low there not enough hot coolant Circulating through the system then cools down when your at idle. Or the other possibly is the heater core is
      Partially blocked and not allowing coolant to flow fast enough. Hope that helps. Let me know what you find.

    Job well done 👍👍👍 great explanation on every step of the way without skipping parts like other mechanic youtubers do. 1 question man, in order to replace the a/c evaporator on a 2005 Corolla. Do u have to remove the whole dash or is there another way?

    • @fixersautomotive4514
      @fixersautomotive4514  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes you would have to remove the entire dash to get to the box. Good luck w/ that repair, it’s a lot of work.

    Great video! I’m having similar issues with my corolla. My blower doesn’t work sometimes. However, if I hit the glove box, dash, or climate control hard a couple of times it will come on. Also, when it works the speed of the air flow fluctuates. What could this be?

    • @fixersautomotive4514

    My ac blows cold air but it comes out really weak, almost at a whisper, no matter where i turn the knob. So i replaced the resistor thinking that'd help. Should i replace the motor next?

    • @fixersautomotive4514
      @fixersautomotive4514  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Have you tired changing or cleaning out the cabin air filter? The dirty filter will cause a weak air flow thur all the vents.

  • @BryanTheGamer
    @BryanTheGamer 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    If replacing the blowing motor doesn’t fix it and still no air do you think it would be the blower motor relay or resistor ?

    • @fixersautomotive4514
      @fixersautomotive4514  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      More than likely yes. The resistor is bad. Please use a test light to check power going to the resistor.

  • @markpieri5272
    @markpieri5272 ปีที่แล้ว

    Usually when the resistor is bad, the only blower speed that will work is high.

  • @armysistersinger
    @armysistersinger 3 ปีที่แล้ว

    When you test the power to the blower motor, is the car on? Or is it off and you just turn the dial?

    • @fixersautomotive4514
      @fixersautomotive4514  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      You can leave the blower in the car. Just unplug the connector to the blower and test the wires just like the video.

  •  ปีที่แล้ว

    My fan and compressor won’t turn on when I hit the a/c button. Any advice? I didn’t see any bad fuses or relays. But I can’t find the location of a fuse for the blower motor. Only the relays and fuse for a/c system.
